  • Hi , I went to the orthoptic clinic yesterday because my optician was concerned about my eyesight getting worse over the space of a year before i only had my left eye squint problem but now its both eyes . I was rushed through to a consultant and he said i was being put through as an urgent case to have both my eyes straightened . I just wanted to know if you/ anyone had bruising after surgery ? Ive been told that there will be some pain almost like having an infection

  • wow, I want to thank you for your videos about your eye disorder. I've found it interesting to research it since I never even knew about it.

My youngest sister appears to have this in one of her eyes. It turns in so far sometimes that the outer edge of her iris disappears behind the corner of her eye. I am glad it's not life-threatening. She has to wear extremely strong glasses but she still tends to walk into walls a few times a week as she can't see them well.

  • thank u very much for answering that fast i really appreciate that god bless and al the best my dear

  • hi can ask u how long u waited after ur first surgery to have the second surgery done?

  • @loveunaj My surgeon only made me wait like 3 weeks. But my eye had turned in really bad. I couldn't open it or I'd fall on my face.

  • impatienly waiting to see my final results! :)

  • This surgery is not fun, not painfull, but so worth it! Wish I had it done years ago

  • I just put an 11 second picture/video on my page. It a picture taken the day after my surgery. Obviously I named it (day after surgery)

  • I had this surgery on the 29th of Sept. in Dothan Al. by Dr. Ludwig. She worked on both of my eyes. I could only focus with one eye at the time before the surgery. I could choose which eye I wanted to look with and the other eye would turn outward. Dr. Ludwig told me that if I see double after the surgery it means that the brain is trying to focus with both eyes. Well i'm seeing double for sure. I thought for the longest time that everyone could only focus with one eye at a time. LOL

  • @Bcroft39 --- Congrats on the surgery. How are you feeling? Sounds like your pre-op condition was very much like mine. I had alternating strabismus - so I could also only use one eye at a time and whichever one I wasn't using at the time would turn out. Would love to see a video of your surgical results if you can. I am now a week plus post-op of my second surgery and the results are truly amazing. My eyes do not wander. I catch myself seeing out BOTH eyes (I cant be TRYING).

  • @Bcroft39 --- I am no longer seeing double. When I am tired they tend to be a little off but hey, Ill take it. They still look 120x better than they did before the surgeries.

I also believed for the longest time pre-op that everyone only saw out of one eye at a time. I have no 3D vision. I can't see the butterfly book at the eye doctors. I have never experienced what most see at 3D theaters. But maybe someday, I will - as I hope you do, if you can't already.

  • @NHNREMTB No I have no 3D vision either. I'm having to get use to my glasses and can't hardly wait until I can wear contacts again. I'm hopeful about seeing 3D one day but if I don't atleast my eyes are straight. My eyes are BLOOD red right now and I tell everyone that yes I may look like a monster but atleast I don't look like a cock eyed monster. LOL. I'm so thrilled about this. I've wanted to have the surgery for YEARS now but have only recently had the funds to have it.

  • @Bcroft39 I hope your feeling great & don't worry you'll adjust to the glasses. Can you REALLY imagine trying to put the contacts in right now? Think they're red now ... imagine with contacts.. LOL. Especially if bifocals. Zoomed in demon eyes! I actually walked around with a magnifying glass to freak people out. I can hardly wait to wear contacts again but I'm not rushing it. I have the same excitement though, definitely relating. My family must be sick of me saying LOOK 20+ times per day.

  • @NHNREMTB Yeah I'm feeling great but my right eye is a little worse than the left. It looks like you had about the same surgery as I did. They had to operate on the outside and inside of my right eye and just the outside of my left. I don't have a video camera but I'll try to post atleast a picture later on. My eyes were so red when I woke up from the surgery that my wife almost passed out..LOL

  • @NHNREMTB - To NHNREMTB & Bcroft39,

I had both of my "wandering" eyes aligned 34 hours ago. I have the double vision now. Could one or both of you give me an idea on how long the double vision lasts? It's really annoying; I'm bumping into things, and I'm always missing the trash can when I go to throw something out. (Unless I'm practically on top of it, or I keep one eye closed)

I was never able to see 3D, so I guess I won't be missing anything. =)

    Thanks a bunch!

    Denise

  • Hey it gets better - although its prob healed by now. I had my surgery 2.5 years for an inward turn.

  • Thanks for posting these. Its very helpful to see the recovery process and get an idea of what its like. I hope you keep making these videos.

  • @Borat2borat Thanks for commenting. I hope to continue. Going to be having another surgery on the 23rd, so I'll be taking a step back recovery wise on the right eye but left eye isn't being worked on as far as I know. Every day I see a little better in the left eye and although the redness is significant, the pain has decreased. The right eye I keep closed or patch. I can't use it at all right now. No matter, I am excited to see the results of the next surgery. Very optimistic.

  • @TimNP61278 Thank you so much my Timmy. :) Congrats Congrats CONGRATS about the weight loss! Just make sure your losing the weight in a healthy way, so it doesn't come back. I love you no matter what you weigh but do want to see you HAPPY and healthy. I too need to lose about eh, 30-50 pounds. I'm using the - weight til the eyes are a little better - excuse for the moment, lol. Right now, if you saw my eyes in person - especially the left, no doubt we'd be laughing - hysterically.
