Michael used brown makeup to cover the blotches in the beginning, that's why people didn't began to see it develop until he had gone through treatment. He never had tons of surgeries, just his nose and chin. Don't reach. He bleached, yes, but not his whole body (his legs were still blotched) and that's a treatment for vitiligo, called depigmentation. They tried repigmentation but it didn't work. You shouldn't judge a person.

I am a huge MJ fan. But I am not in denial. I have cousins with Vitiligo and their entire bodies aren't white... paper white. And I did feel that MJ's music went downhill after Quincy. His 2 biggest albums were with Quincy. THE TRUTH HURTS! MJ wore wigs, had tons of surgeries, and changed his skin tone all to not look like his father. Sad... but true. If you had millions from childhood and the bread winner think of the stupid stuff you would've done with your money. His was emotionally driven.

If you just look at Google images, you'll find people with large expanses of their body totally white. MJ wore make-up all the time to achieve a smooth look, but from photos of his chest and wrist, you can see that the pigment was indeed blotchy.

Susi, that's why he, out of the 8 siblings, was the only one who had the decease. Because, like u said, is relativily rare. There's no answer to "Why him?". For some reason, he had it.
There's a large amount of pictures, everywhere, where u can see the white blotchs. And, at the beggining, he tried covering it up with brown make up, but, with time, the blotchs were bigger than his skin, and so it was easier to use white.
Only the ones who have vitiligos know how hard it is...

Michael Jackson didn't bleach his skin, he had vitiligo. I don't think Quincy Jones believed him or really knew. Maybe he did get a chemical peel because you get those to remove acne scarring but they do not change the color of your skin.

KC asked about Quincy relationship with MJ, Q answers about how MJ thought he was not in touch with the music anymore. Seems like Quincy had these answers already prepared to vomit them to any questions he get asked.
And what makes me laugh is you all talk about "Michael" as if you knew him and criticise Quincy Jones for commenting on him when he actually did know him and has every right to!
sour grapes. MJ tried to tell Q about his disease, but he didn't believe him. He was angry with MJ because he replace him. MJ didn't want to change his color, he had vitiligo. Q never believed him.
Shame on Quincy for cashing in, interviews talking about trash like his appearence. Vitiligo was responsible for the pigmentation of his skin. That is not a fan defending him, that is a fact from the coroners report when he died. I think Q is a musical legend, but he has let himself down by doing these tabloid style interviews for cash. Just sounds bitter because MJ moved on and so did his sound. He made the right decision because Bad sounds more dated than anything else he has recorded.
You seem to forget or NOT know that Q produced the BIGGEST selling MJ albums in history...NONE of the albums that he did after DID NOT sell even close...Do your homework before you speak!!

Sales are not everything, some of my favourite albums have sold little. But just because YOU didn't like alot of the work he did after Bad does not mean he lost his relevence it just means YOU didn't like it. I just don't understand how you can say he lost his relevance. You said none of the albums he did after did not sell even close and that simply isn't true which is what I pointed out, wasn't having a go so chill. @cpope3391 Alot of people think his music went downhill after Bad, but I think he just took more control of his music and grew. He became more eclectic. The downside to that for me is that post Bad the albums had a mixed feel with the sound where as before that there was a running theme with the sound running through. Thats what I think anyway.

The 50 shows at the 02 is hypothetical as he never done it and was never ever going to do it, plus the 02 only hold 20 000 max,but large scale pop shows with video screens etc restricts the actual capacity to just over 16 000 as these two sections have to remain empty as stage view is blocked. So if he was so popular why not do Glastonburty 6 times @ 125 000 instead of pretending to do 50 for publicity? Because he would have cancelled after 3 shows due to his drug ravaged body.

As for his drug riddled body, read the coroners report, he was healthy, no signs of long term drug abuse, he was taking stuff to help him sleep, which he always had problems with leading upto and during touring. And he couldn't do Glastonbury 6 times because Glastonbury holds a festival once a year.

Michael used brown makeup to cover the blotches in the beginning, that's why people didn't began to see it develop until he had gone through treatment. He never had tons of surgeries, just his nose and chin. Don't reach. He bleached, yes, but not his whole body (his legs were still blotched) and that's a treatment for vitiligo, called depigmentation. They tried repigmentation but it didn't work. You shouldn't judge a person.

I am a huge MJ fan. But I am not in denial. I have cousins with Vitiligo and their entire bodies aren't white... paper white. And I did feel that MJ's music went downhill after Quincy. If you just look at Google images, you'll find people with large expanses of their body totally white. Changes in his appearance can be explained by aging, weight fluctuation, hair styles and terrible camera angles/photos in the press. And what's wrong with wigs? When Beyonce wears them it's wonderful, but when Michael Jackson does it's suddenly a sin.

Susi, that's why he, out of the 8 siblings, was the only one who had the decease. Because, like u said, is relativily rare. There's no answer to "Why him?". For some reason, he had it.
There's a large amount of pictures, everywhere, where u can see the white blotchs. And, at the beggining, he tried covering it up with brown make up, but, with time, the blotchs were bigger than his skin, and so it was easier to use white.
Only the ones who have vitiligos know how hard it is...

Thing is, Michael had many black friends, some prominent celebs/comedians.

The 50 shows at the 02 is hypothetical as he never done it and was never ever going to do it, plus the 02 only hold 20 000 max,but large scale pop shows with video screens etc restricts the actual capacity to just over 16 000 as these two sections have to remain empty as stage view is blocked. So if he was so popular why not do Glastonburty 6 times @ 125 000 instead of pretending to do 50 for publicity? Because he would have cancelled after 3 shows due to his drug ravaged body.

As for his drug riddled body, read the coroners report, he was healthy, no signs of long term drug abuse, he was taking stuff to help him sleep, which he always had problems with leading upto and during touring. But my problem and only problem with Q is that he should be talking about the music. Not quite sure how I am a sychophant. I don't hero worship either, I just believe he did his most interesting work after Bad. He experimented more, wrote more and continued to be a relevant artist in his 5th decade in the music industry. Thats unheard of

@RedSun1932 From what I see QJ seems to hint that he thought Jackson had lost touch with reality, both with what was happening musically and probably in his personal life too.
I don't see why you all have to run to his aid, all I will say is look at QJ's Discography, all the songs he has been involved with over the years, different types of music, huge worldwide stars and the respect he gets from the jazz heads through to the hip hop artists of today.
He is the authority on black music for me.

@jonahspj22 you know what's so god awfully said about all of this?.....the reaction to quincy jones/michael jackson collaboration from the time this stuff actually happened to what is perceived by the current generation of michael's fans has changed so drastically, where once their union was celebrated, now has become one of scorn, all because of michael jackson's choice to obliterate his being to gain the ultimate pop distinction, which eventually led to his self destruction.

@scorpionJB But what I will say scorpion is that I remember every record from Thriller, how many do I remember from Invincible or Dangerous? Few!
The Dude was an awesome album too, perhaps the Quincy haters should listen to that, because it's every bit as good as off the wall for me.
Just a golden period, where 2 great artists were at their peak.

@jonahspj22 aw my friend, The Dude was the model that Thriller was built on in regards to production format and structure, that's what these fans of the past 18 years don't know, Ai No Carrida set the state for Wanna Be Startin Somethin, Just Once was the blueprint for Human Nature/Lady In My Life, Thriller wasn't just a celebration of Michael Jackson but the apex of music itself. An Entire body of great performers w/highly regarded talent participated on background vocals on Thriller

@jonahspj22 beautiful period man, the golden period as you said, because this stuff meant something, and the fans back then didn't trash or discredit or tear down, but were inspired, respected, and were uplifted by the gift, these fans say that quincy is BITTER, if he is, it sure ain't about michael jackson's life of the past 23 years, if anything, he's hurt by it what he saw going on w/michael, but it sure can't be defined as anything to do w/being bitter.

@jonahspj22 As for Q thinking MJ lost touch with reality musically and personal life, I just think it makes him shows Q in a negative bitter light, which is a shame, because his outstanding career is so much more that commenting on another persons appearence. People don't want to hear that from Q, we want to here what went into making those masterpieces together. And Q does sound bitter, Michael has worked with outstanding people musically througho
