Funny thing about "Skirts" - it hit a lot bigger in England than over here in the early '30s. It was the times - a little too peppy a number for the depression years over here, whereas the British kept on enjoying such things...
Joe Roberts also co-wrote this song. "Skirts" had a rise to fame twice on the charts, one when it was originally written and then again about 10 -15 years later.
Joe did a number of the vocals while he was with Slatz Randall. He had perfect pitch, played most stringed instruments (banjo, guitar, uke, etc...) but he also played keyboards as well. He was a southern gentleman and a straight shooter, but with an uncanny sense of humor that was almost childlike. He was my Grandfather and is missed!

Great song, great skirts, but the vocalist on this is Joe Roberts, who also played the banjo in the band.
