I got my Singer from JoAnn Fabrics and when I called the one in Robinson township, PA...they informed me at the sewing center that 2 hrs of instructional classes should have been offered to me. I am on a waiting lists for them to give the class on my machine. I have watched youtube to try to figure some of it out, but I'm still having problems. I don't know how to download designs (free) from the internet to the futura. Any suggestions?
prima avevo un Pc con WinXp e andava bene, adesso ho Windows Vista e non mi funziona... come faccio a risolvere il problema??? - before i had a Pc with WinXp and went well, now I have Windows Vista and I do not work... how do I fix this? GRAZIE
My machine is work well, but they came out very poor, At first I thought I design is not clear , but I use there design build in , they came out very poor too , , so I think , I need take the class , But i got my machine online , so now I don't know where I will take a class at, If you know where , please let me know, I'm in Arizona. Thanks
I got the C-150 for Christmas from JoAnns. It came with $750 free design cds that I sent for. I hope I will not be disappointed with the machine like some posts. I have sewn with it and it is fine. I have to learn alot yet. It has to be hooked up to a pc to embroider. Had a problem with that since my pc is upgraded, but thanks to my hubby the format will convert. I am getting a lap top to use for it and will see how it works then. I haven't used the embroidery yet.
I owned a Singer Futura and it was a terrible machine. The bobbin casing kept popping out! It was in the repair shop more often than it was in actual use. It worked great for about a month. After that, I couldn't finish one project without the bobbin case breaking. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS MACHINE.
Good Machine, baddddd suport, my software driver CD is damage and the singer web page not have the drivers or software for customers, need buy , cost 100 dlls.
the software is the worst available if the machine stops in the middle of a program you cant restaret it in the middle so the shirt or whatever is ruined !!!!!
look elseware beware singer support there is no such thing!!!!!!!!
It is a shame that Singer has gone downhill since the early days when they were IT for sewing machines. I purchased this machine,
and have tried to phone or eMail Singer with questions, and NEVER have gotten ANY help or reply at all. Customer Service from Singer is 0.00%. I would never purchase one more item from Singer. My Grandmother was a seamstress in the 50s/60s and she had a great Singer Metal Old Machine. My, how the times have changed, now they are all plastic, and not for serious.
SInger didn't go downhill and those all steel industrial Singer sewing machines are still available (Singer model 20u73).Most stores can just make more selling machines for the home quilting and embroidery hobby markets with computers .Robbing granny with gadgets is all they are doing because many of the computerized machines are the lesser machine and cost more.
Have you checked Singer's online support on their website? They have an FAQ and email form. But there's also a toll-free number you can call for specific questions (1-800-4-SINGER). Please give them a try, because they're most familiar with their machines and should be able to answer to get you back sewing quickly.
I have this machine and it is a very affordable introduction to machine embroidery. The stitch quality surprisingly rivals that of the high-end machines. A Bernina or Viking costs $5000 to $8000 and does not include the embroidery software or classes. The Futura is complete. I have owned nothing but Berninas all my life. Singer and Brother are giving the expensive companies a run for their money. Embroidery machines are not just for rich people anymore!
I wouldnt buy a singer today to save my life. The 3 big boys are Bernina, Husqvarna Viking, Pfaff. Janome is a really good brand as well and affordable.
I have one of these and after a year, I still dont know how to use the software. Also, I dont think you can use the software unless the sewing machine is on and hooked up to the computer. I dont care about the library of stuff, I want to make my own designs... not easy to do.

BTW, I would never buy a machine with a drop-in bobbin. They just don't look like they can be trusted.

Wow....such unhappy customers. 800.00 is a LOT of money to waste on a crappy sewing machine. I really feel bad for you guys.
My 10 year old Brother machine still works great...but it only has straight and zigzag stitch and it only cost 99.00.

I bought this from JoAnn's as a starter machine; It's horrible for sewing. It's fine for embroidery but sewing=awful.
