wow i went to dc two days ago and visited arlington and it was so sad, thinking bout joining usaf or national guard. my bro is servin in iraq right now, when he gets back hes finally done with the army.
@MrsJLW2, A Veteran don't ask for much, matter of fact you will NEVER hear them ask for help. WHY???? Because people such as yourself sit behind a monitor and are the first to bash them for standing up and fighting for what THEY believe in....Do me a favor and every Veteran a Favor...PICK UP A RIFLE AND FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS, JUST ONE TIME......YOU COULDN"T DO IT BECAUSE YOU CAN"T HIDE BEHIND A MONITOR ON THE BATTLEFIELD!!!!!!
I am tired of all of the war talk! Why is it still going on? I know a lot of soldiers who have bad attitudes, like I am supposed to kiss your feet and worship you because you joined up! Yeah right!
@MrsJLW2 Did you ever stop and think that the soldiers are just reflecting the anger that they feel oozing out of YOU back at you? Nobody said you had to ' kiss there feet and worship them. Your attitude SUCKS!!
To all the fallen Veterans of War...I salute you...to those who never made back from the hell hole known as a battlefield...I salute you...Happy Veterans Day all, never forget the veterans who are no longer with us, never forget the loved ones who gave their lives over seas to protect our freedom...
To all those that are protecting us now, we thank you. Thanks to all US military, past and present, To those that gave it all.. Rest In Peace and God Bless The USA, Freedom is never free but we remain land of the free and home of the brave.

@TheDJaworsk I just wanted to tell you that I am personally thankful for people like them and you at that. My father (Also a Marine) told me that when I was 8 I used to say that Marines were angels sent to guard and protect those on earth from harm, Well I'm 20 years old and I still believe that with my whole heart. You and every other person that is and or has served this country really are gifts from God and whether you get told a million times or none at all...Just know someone is grateful.<3
To all soldiers past, present, and future we thank you for sacrifice and personally i hope you get more than a folded flag and 21 gun goodbye. May they be remembered through out history.
@darkwing258 Ok, that makes sense. I guess that means when those radical bastards come over to kill us all I'll be allowed to just leave their sorry asses. Sorry about my language, but it pisses me off that we have men and women sacraficin' themselves to protect us from a terrorist group, that attacked us, are treated like murderers and villians by our own people.
I'm glad he did this song. People need to remember the true cost of freedom. I proudly servred my country for 20 years in the USAF. I salute all those who have served, especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Amazing Song and Video! Country music stars seem to be some of the only rich and famous that still appreciate what our soldiers stand for. They stand for our freedom to listen to this music and have the right to speak our minds. Please support our American Soldiers even if you don't agree with the war. These soldiers are on watch all night long so we can lay in our comfy beds and sleep like babies. Thanks 2 all the soldiers that have, are and will serve our Great Nation! God bless you all!
I had the privaledge of visiting Arlington Labor day weekend. my only regreat is that we didn't have more time. I will go back. Being a soldiers daughter and coming from a family where so many have served our country, I never take forgranted that all gave some but SOME GAVE ALL
For the first time in my life, I visited Arlington today...I had swallow a lump when I first walked in...it was THAT overwhelming...I saw the Changing of the Guard; it was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen...to know that that ground is hallowed by the blood of thousands of our soldiers and leaders, as well as their families...may they rest in peace, and know that they will never be forgotten.
@andrewames247 i went when i was in 8th grade and i must agree with you it is one of the most incredible places on earth and the changing of the guard is very very powerful
sept 16, 2009, i lost former baseball player, he was like a son to me, Thank you for serving your country, you will be always in my heart Sgt. Robert David Gordon
support the war , support the soldiers that have fought in and are in war right now cuse every one knows there has been or is some one in there family that is or was in war support our troops god bless our troops
Amazing... what an incredible message... Honoring my nephew Joey Seaman , only 21 when he gave his life in Viet Nam by saving 4 of his buddies.. God Bless you Little Joey...
My childhood friend passed away a week ago in Iraq. His funeral is on Sept 8th, 2010 in the Arlington National Cemetery. Which also happens to be his 21st birthday. I just saw this song posted on his facebook today with the comments talking about how they are trying to have it played at his funeral. I tried hard to keep my composure when i heard it but it just made me so emotional. It's really a beautiful song. RIP James Michael Swink. You will be greatly missed! <3
Twenty one steps, he takes twenty one steps Eyes locked in honor for the soldier he guards And twenty one seconds before he turns To honor the soldiers who never returned Twenty one steps until the end of time For our lost soldiers we cannot find They gave their lives for you and me The price paid to preserve our dignity So let's take twenty one steps
Thank you Trace. This song came out around the time when our local National Guard unit here in Pennsylvania lost 7 heros. One of which spent his last Christmas with my family. It was an honor to spend it with him. Bill and the rest of you. Thank you for what you did for us.. You'll never be forgotten. I promise. God bless our troops and make sure that you thank them every chance you get. I do.
i listen to all generes of music from rock, some rap and pop, but this song and all the other country songs like this is the reason i put country as #1 genere in my book
This song brought me to my knees, sobbing, a week after my son was killed in Iraq. My son and his Grandfather are buried "a thousand stones away" from each other in Sec 60 and Sec 68. RIP SSGT John E Allen Jr. and SGT John Edward Allen!

@tara36443 If this is refering to Jason Dunham, then his story is well know to us currently serving in the military. Jason was truely a hero.
If it is not than still God Bless this hero.

For the first time in my life, I visited Arlington today...I had swallow a lump when I first walked in...it was THAT overwhelming...I saw the Changing of the Guard; it was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen...to know that that ground is hallowed by the blood of thousands of our soldiers and leaders, as well as their families...may they rest in peace, and know that they will never be forgotten.
andrewames247 1 year ago 2
@andrewames247 i went when i was in 8th grade and i must agree with you it is one of the most incredible places on earth and the changing of the guard is very very powerful

I do.

Americans, indeed all freemen, remember that in the final choice, a soldier's pack is not so heavy a burden as a prisoner's chains.
