"When anybody tries to preach disunity, tries to pit one us against the other through class warfare, race-hatred, or religious-intolerance, you know that person seeks to rob us of our freedom, and destroy our everyday lives."
That's wise-words, sadly alot of USA politicians now are trying to use these SAME "Snake-oil" tactics to take away our freedoms, pit us against each other, and have the "Big Brother" Government rule over everything we do.
Unions built the middle class in this country, gave everyone a living wage,an 8 hour work day, health care, pensions and eliminated child labor.Unions fight for the working man and corporations fight for the dollar.Simple as that. And government regulations didnt drive jobs overseas.Greedy corporations looking for cheap labor did.
If government regulation is why jobs are going overseas, why are the jobs going to socialist countries (like China and India) who's governments spend just high of a percentage of their GDP as we do?
I don't see how that works... Isn't the issue more paticularly that our wages are too high?
@phillytheflyerable Sure the Americans have a lot of problems, but the problem with a socialist system is that those in charge will soon or later take advantage of the system, such as Europe's problems right now. Though of course all countries go through changes.
This cartoon is a piece of shit! It is perhaps the sort of thing that mindless morons will find interesting, but it is certainly not something that will appeal to people with functional brains.
@LibertyRealm ofcourse we can. socialism is about equality. everyones right to the same education and the same health care. you scumbags piss on the poor and give the rich guys more power and more bonuses. socialism is about every mans equal right and equal responsibility. distrubution of money. school, police and healtcare should not make profit, but should be run by the state. that's socialism
"socialism is about every mans equal right and equal responsibility. distrubution of money. school, police and healtcare should not make profit, but should be run by the state. that's socialism"
You managed to avoid the issue of PRIVATE PROPERTY thats is CRUCIAL to the ACTUAL DEFINTIION OF SOCIALISM.
Are you saying that socialism allows private propety? yes or no? thats all I need to read to see if you know what the hell your talking about.
@LibertyRealm but you're right. it's not like sweden, norway and denmark are 3 of the top countries in the world who all are ranked among the best countries in the world when it comes to security, health, welfare etc etc etc.
Actually the US is much higher in Personal Income and above Sweden and Denmark in the Human Development Index but keep living your in your fantasy world of "socialism" :)
@LibertyRealm you're deluded, my son. swden and norway has topped the list of "best counties in the world" for years. USA isn't even in top 10..... sorry to disappoint you.
All I've wanted from a young age was to be free to use my land how I want to but now you have to have permits and zoning laws I can't even build a shed without having to do all kinds of paperwork and pay for the permits and Sometimes I can't even use my land because its zoned for something else.
The horrors, opresion, tyranny, bureaucracy and slavery that happened in the Soviet Union didnt came from communism, and didnt came from socialism, but stalinism.
I see that this cartoon was from 1948. In the same year that Truman ordered the integration of the US armed services.
Do they forget about civil rights? Equality of access to the public education system, to the ballot box and hence public office took many more years. Anti-miscegenation laws were applied until 1967!
Harding College's view of the degree of freedom available throughout the US in 1948, was misleading at best. It should have been titled - "Could you make mine freedom?"
What capitalism does best is create concentrations of wealth. It's been that way from the start. We've been living in a 3rd Gilded age for the past 30 years now and the divide between rich and poor is worse than ever. Capitalism creates concentrations of wealth. Repeat that mantra until it's deeply engrained into your brain.
@cutis1000 How can you possibly take that seriously as a mantra? not only is it laughably shit, but it also flows as well as a socialist society. Here's a better mantra, communists create class warfare.
Capitalism is far from perfect, but it's a majesty compared to the obvious alternative.
@sergeantbatman No CAPITALISM creates class warfare. And it's not a black and white scenario either. We're not talking about Communism. We're talking about using government to improve the quality of life for the people it serves. That is the core of democratic government. Capitalism does not care about the quality of the people it serves. It serves one thing only. That of the individual. The individual will not save society. Only society can save society.
I thought Marx said class warfare have existed always on human history and that capitalism is just another phase of that history, therefore capitalism didnt create class warfare... unless you want to contradict Marx in which case I believe you'll burst into flames XD
@LibertyRealm Capitalism is based on creation of wealth?? Tell that to all of the American students who have bankrupted themselves because they can't afford the cost of a college education. You speak in terms of romantic theories of capitalism. In practice, capitalism is predatory, survival of the fittest. Capitalism creates debt because people can't afford the necessities for a quality of living.
"Capitalism is based on creation of wealth?? Tell that to all of the American students who have bankrupted themselves because they can't afford the cost of a college education."
@LibertyRealm It contradicts your argument because millions of families are wage slaves in a capitalist economy and have to take out usurious loans that they can't pay off and they enter into debt and students have to take even larger loans that they can never pay off because they are too steeped in debt! Sorry, but your argument doesn't hold sway.
Wage slavery is a rediculous term describing a fantasy world where the "capitalists" can control the price of labor and wages simply by mantaining a small demand and a huge offer of people wanting to work, which is insane because a capitalist economy is always in need of labor, qualified labor.
None forced this people to asking for loans they couldnt pay, they didt it because they wanted to improve their living conditions, there is no "slavery", the debt here is just the representation of a service provided that has to be payed, in this case the borrowing of capital that could have been used for other productive process.
A healthy economy cant be run on debt, the european economies are proving that.
"In practice, capitalism is predatory, survival of the fittest."
In capitalism the division of labor allows people to specialize, you cant be the best at everything.
"Capitalism creates debt because people can't afford the necessities for a quality of living."
That depends on your definition of quality of living, because history proves that capitalism was increased the quality of living for all people for the last 100 years.
@LibertyRealm All history proves is perfidy, war, animosity, hatred and division between financial classes. Capitalism did not increase the quality of living for people. Government regulated capitalism increased the quality of living. BIG DIFFERENCE!
I do not hate the rich for being rich. I may be disgusted with what some of them do, but to hate somebody for their money or success, instead of the individual, is just another form of prejudice. Capitalism is still the best current option, but I think it is time to make a new amendment that separates corporation and state, and grants freedom from corporations. The corporations run the government with a lot more say than an individual vote. I find that extremely unconstitutional.
@dark0tale0weaver sometimes too much capitalism isn't good either, the people who own the company will give out low salaries to their employees, and the gap between the rich and the poor will enlarge, so i say that having some capitalism and some socialism would be good, unless we can change these owner's thoughts and let them give out salaries fair and square.
@dark0tale0weaver It hardly has anything to do with hating the rich for being rich and everything to do with greed and the things rich do in order to stay rich. Quite a bit if it tends to be illegal.
Your assumption that Capitalism is the 'best current option' doesn't seem to be based on anything. Considering that Communistic countries have an average financial growth of 3.6% and Capitalistic countries are currently severely in debt, I'm rather curious as to how you measure 'the best'.
Well I wouldn't say it predicted the future. We still are pitted against one another and are getting royally screwed. They actually united before things got bad.
Prescience from America's Golden Age. Too bad this wasn't the biggest short film of 1958. Yeah, we took a test-swig of Ism. But somehow we didn't know to stop drinking it. Now we live in the land of Ism, where it's impossible to afford college, where China owns our assholes, and where every demographic chunk is screaming insults on YouTube at every other demographic chunk.
We've lost a lot as a nation. We've lost our soul. Lost the pride I felt as a child looking at Old Glory, replaced by hate.
Interesting how since 9/11 America has been going in the opposite direction of what this video is saying not to do. Example peaceful protests being broken up and violence started by government officials. Why must your country fuck up everything for everyone? something happens there it will happen here first so you pricks can see how it works.
Could it be this is trying to play down 'communism' alone. I think there are more 'ISM's at work. Now, Capitalism dictates the rich is most superor, even at the expense of others and seek out distant, cheaper, labor. Government acts more as Imperialism than ever, they feel they run the show and all should surrender all for them to control. Other things like Socialism, Consumerism, Religionism, etc. all contribute to the degredation when all groups should work together to make better for ALL.
Produce and Spiritual values ? Entire cartoon is wrong as it could be. America has been 100 years ahead of the others in the beginning of the last century but not because of our system or spiritual values . We used and exploited others . We produced to sell them . Today they are producing and selling to us. Our spiritual values are mass dumb downing process and result we see today with millions of ignorant religious freaks .Our system was never good to more then 30% population. It's all lie.
@IndisguiseIam It took you that long to come up with that empty rebuttal? Just because YOU lack the capabilities, doesn't mean ALL of us do. Tell Einstein or Leonard Susskind, you theory. See how far you get trying to tell them that they cannot understand complex issues, social or otherwise.
My teenage son says, "mom, you know the problem is high school is showing films & teaching about govt dependence, so that is why you have the occupy wallstreeters who just want stuff handed to them." Where did America go wrong? I go back to Woodrow Wilson, and PROGRESSIVE ways. I'm in aw when I hear young people talk. But they've been indoctrinated. So sad that we WERE the greatest nation on earth, & we choose to give it up because it's 'EASIER' to just let the govt pay our way........
Hmm...preach disunity through class warfare (Fuck the poor), race hatred (goddamn illegals!), and religious intolerance (Muslims are barbaric)...sounds like modern conservatism and the tea party...heh
Your examples are spurious. the modern example of Class Warfare is "Eat the Rich", the example of race hatred is "Only white people can be racist" (Though I could bring up the late Robert "Grand Cyclops" Bird's high level membership in the KKK), and the example of religious intolerance is removing all references to religion in the public square under the idea that freedom OF religion is the same as freedom FROM religion.
In other words, the platform of the liberal left.
@Joe402 YOU SAY "GODDAMN ILLEGALS".... why are you ok with ILLEGALS? Are you ok with all things illegal? We don't hate immigrants. We hate those who BREAK THE FREAKIN' LAW. wanna come here, do it right!!!!!!!!!!!! And about your Muslim comment. Tell me why, if you can, are these terrorist attacks constantly Muslim radicals? Can you deny they are doing it? If there are "nice" muslims, why don't they stand up against it?
@swarizonaone I wonder if you know exactly what percentage of "illegal" immigrants actually commit crimes & what percentage of muslims are terrorists. They are a small minority. Studies have shown over & over again "illegal" immigrants commit crimes at a much lower rate than american citizens. If we go by your way of thinking, does that mean that citizens should be penalized for the actions of those american criminals? Quit hiding your bigotry behind weak & transparent excuses
@swarizonaone There are Muslims and other followers of Islam that fight it, but they are not the part of those theocracies that hold power and militia. We want to fear the religion itself. In reality, it is the religious belief that one select religion should rule the world. Extreme cases exist in the current theocracies, but Islamic Al Qaeda and Christian Dominionists have the same goal. Holy books have proven to be an extremely dangerous creation in the hands of mankind.
In Theory I support publicly funded elections, but the methods that are now in place make it easier to keep established politicians in power and block out new people who have different ideas. The regulations are making it impossible to back a local runner. The rules are so complex. To be able to help a campaign, write letters to washington or provide a service for someone small it takes days to fill in the forms.A recent study gave 1000 normal people the forms and no one completed it successfully
@nultdog If you get involved and don't fully comply with all the regulations you can face a serious fine or jail time. This completely discourages new people entering. And makes it very risky for volunteers. Established parties love this. Democrats and Republicans are basically the same party. Nothing Changes no matter who wins. The only one who has been different in decades is Ron Paul.
A lot has changed in 52 years. That "American Dream" isn't so bright anymore and glorious Capitalism has gotten so out of control that it, by itself, doesn't work. It morphs into Corporatism all too easily. Not saying Capitalism is completely bad by a mixture of Capitalism and Socialism has been proven to work. They balance each other out.
@Master Capitalism morphs into corporatism too easily? Then it is not capitalism! Corporatism is when the government gets involved, steals from some people and gives to others. Capitalism is when the government is there only to protect freedom and voluntary exchange. Socialism is when government robs some and gives to others. Hence corporatism. People support socialism when the money goes to the poor but not the rich. But Bailouts and special interests are the shadow of socialism not capitalism
@Freedomnotforced Everyone expects bankers and politicians to act in everyone's interest and that a Laissez Faire free market will just magically fix everything and debt never being a problem. It doesn't work that way. There has to be SOME government intervention and regulation. Not completely. That's going into totalitarian Communist waters. We're talking about SOCIALISM here. America has had Socialism mixed in with Capitalism since the 1930's.
It is the mix of Socialism and Capitalism that turned a 1929 recession into a great depression. The recession in 1920 was much worse in the first year but because the president didn't intervene it recovered in about 18months. Basically every monopoly has been created by governments and I challenge you to find a counter example. They take money from producers give it to consumers and wonder why the problems get worse. Then they hand out favours to big companies and choke out small businesses
@MasterAdam100 Every complaint that comes from anti capitalist people is always about companies that screw people over after they have bought influence from government. That is corporatism which I hate. I paid about $5k this year to GM and didn't even get a car. In a free market they would only get money from me by giving me a car that I wanted or go broke. Wall Street bailouts was government robbing us and giving it to rich people.
The housing bubble was created by government regulations that was supposed to make everyone be a home owner. They passed laws that made banks lend to unqualified people who couldn't afford the home and then insured the debt through Fannie and Freddie and kept the interest rate artificially low.The risk was taken out of lending so it was no wonder they were reckless. Now profits are privatised and losses are nationalised. The losses are essential in a free market to force good judgement
@MasterAdam100 We benefit everyday from capitalism and have to fight our way through the socialism. I benefit from the true functions of government stated in the constitution. Protect us from foreign and domestic threats, uphold contracts and settle disputes, and a few services that everyone uses like street lights and sewage removal from our homes. They are supposed to provide real money (only gold and silver) but now it is fiat funny money which they print away (90% loss in 100 years)
Also the socialist policies are the reason for all the jobs going overseas. It costs about $15 p/h to hire someone when you add in all costs. Most low skilled people cannot produce enough to justify this wage so they are forced onto welfare. There are billions of people who only cost about $5p/h so supply and demand forces the business to lower cost workers. If a homeless person wants to work for $5 then it is illegal, so he stays on the street. All the benefits of capitalism are being destroyed
@Freedomnotforced Well, it's kind of weird that all countries in this 'overseas' world have minimum wage laws, often proportionately much more generous than the US has, and yet, it's the US that's losing?
@TheSpiritOfTheTimes That makes absolutely no sense. Jobs aren't exported overseas because wages are higher over there, they are exported because wages are lower. If employee costs were lower in US then all countries would send work to the US. But because they are in the top 10% of highest wage costs and regulations then the US doesn't import jobs. It is simple supply and demand economics!
@Freedomnotforced You don't seem to understand what I said. Minimum wage laws exist everywhere, so do welfare benefits. Their effect of demotivating people to find work is negligible, their effect of preserving human dignity immesurable.
@TheSpiritOfTheTimes You don't seem to understand economics. We live in a global economy. Let's say you want to buy a pen - 3 people sell exactly the same pens. I price it at $10, next guy prices his at $5, next guy at $1. Which will you buy if they are exactly the same quality? Raising prices does not increase demand. People always want to buy the best quality at the lowest cost. Low skilled minorities with a market value of $5 cannot compete at the cost to hire them so the jobs go elsewhere
@TheSpiritOfTheTimes When the minimum wage law was first started in South Africa it was the labour unions who lobbied for it. These unions would not accept black workers. But the black workers were not able to get jobs at $5 per day so the only way they could get a job was to offer to work for less. The whites hated this and forced a law that stated the wage level was that which the white union workers received. This stopped blacks from offering to work for less so whites could keep the jobs.
Every time the minimum wage rate is increased teenage minority unemployment increases. Small businesses don't make much profit for many years, if any at all, so they have to reduce costs if they want to survive. If a teenager with no skills wants to work for $5p/h and the employer is happy to pay $5 then it is still illegal. Small companies cannot pay $15p/a for someone to do unskilled basic labour. So they just don't hire. If minimum wage really helped why not make it $20p/h or $30p/h?
Why not just go to somalia, bangladesh, or any other poor country and just raise minimum wage to $15p/h? Then poverty would be eliminated if it really helps the poor. I understand the objective and I support it. But you need to look at the results rather than the objective. If I try to sell anything far above market rate and it is available elsewhere for less then it is obvious that people will go to where it is cheaper. I am sure you look for lower costs rather than higher costs!
The problem is not that socialist policies demotivate people it is that the policies, rules and regulations price people out of the market. Everyone looks at the profits of huge corporations and passes laws because they could probably afford to pay more, but these laws destroy small companies with tiny profits and eliminate the entry level jobs for low skilled people. How would you feel if I told you that you are not allowed to work until you can justify $100kp/a?
@IndisguiseIam Furthermore, nutrition is a BIG problem as to why people are "dumbed down". There is an abundance of studies that prove the food industry uses substances known to cause harm to the body and mind. Though, whether or not it is on purpose is a different argument. There are MANY factors to the equation of why the people make such bad decisions.
"Political power grows out of a barrel of a gun."
It doesn't have to. I believe it should and CAN come from the RIGHT education.
@IndisguiseIam "Human brain is designed to find food, and survive in a small tribe of few dozen, not to make ethical decisions in a world of billions of people and thousands of cultures."
I disagree. As humans, we have the CHOICE to EVOLVE internally. Sure, not EVERYONE is fit to makes important decisions, however, I believe the majority is, IF properly educated. Also, I'm sure the UK's schools aren't free from corruption, which clouds the waters of education.
@klmrxz ---hey, you could be a capitalist too. Nothing in America right now preventing you from this. Quit sitting on the bench and waiting for a handout. Start a business. Create something that people need..get a skill that is desired, and become one of the 1%. It is not a right, it is earned..you want it, earn it. That is the problem with Americans now. They'd rather just sit around, mope about capitalism and be one of the 99%. Sorry, but I never got a job from a poor person.
@swarizonaone "Nothing in America right now preventing you from this."
Except morals. Capitalism is privatized dictatorship/ slavery. Your coments are filled with pure ignorance. Run back to your WALL STREET JOURNAL and FOX NEWS and keep living the dream, you fucking moron.
@swarizonaone Nope, but you got a job that paid you minimum wage and forcing you to live from paycheck to paycheck. Oh yeah, it's called WAGE SLAVERY. Something capitalism PIONEERED. :-)
@cutis1000 Sorry, but wage slavery is self-imposed in a free society. We are still free to that extent, I believe. Nobody keeps you in that minimum wage job except yourself. Now, in places like the old Soviet Union where, as an adolescent< you were assigned a job or trade and that is where you stayed. But we are not there yet. But if we are not willing to fight for something different, we will be there very shortly.
@Pande2112 Wage-slavery is self-imposed?? So everyone who is capable of working is capable of increasing their income? As if the jobs just fall of a tree? As if everyone can create whatever income they want? No. That's not how the jungle works and its not how capitalism works. There are rich and there are poor. There are exploited and there are those who do the exploiting. THAT IS HUMAN NATURE. And that is why capitalism benefits the FEW over the many. Government is the equalizer.
LOL-I love the popup suggesting that "regulations" drove business overseas...it's all those Americans who want more than 19 cents an hour wages that drove business overseas. A capitalist looks at his bottom line and American labor is not more special than Chinese labor. A critic of Adam Smith said something similar when discussing The Wealth of Nations-that's when Adam Smith assured him that "an invisible hand" would protect British industry. You shouldn't build a life philosophy out of fantasy
If this was seen coming 50 years ago, why did it still come true? Are we, as a country, that stupid? Or are we that lazy? I think greedy. If we could all pay 5 percent more tax and fix all the countries problems, who would do it? No one. It is personal greed that is turning us into slaves. SO fight to save your pennies, and get used to your chains.
Remember, Obama the democrat gave more money to the wealthy than EVERY republican president in all of history, COMBINED, in his first year!
Right. Free enterprise is great until it isn't and the economy crashes and since there's no regulation in your capitalist utopia, the feds can't do shit to stop the crisis. Which is what happened during the Great Depression, which is why we have a mixed economy, capitalism with regulation and rules. And it works better than what we had before. Before, depressions and recessions were common. Since FDR's reforms, they've been rare. Stop the propagnda. Pure capitalism is a dangerous joke.
@IndisguiseIam What better place than here to discuss this? My hope is to spread awareness. I don't want to discuss this behind closed doors. Some might get something from what we discuss, that is my goal.
@IndisguiseIam "But the point here is, that what really is necessary is to be good at everything, and I do mean everything"
It's possible to be AWARE of just ABOUT everything. What we need to improve upon is the continuity between the collective consciousness, which is something that has been made more difficult by PURPOSEFUL segregation. We separate ourselves in EVERY area possible. But it's not entirely our fault, we are being manipulated to do this.
@IndisguiseIam ".If you google for "asperger´s syndrome" you will find some of these people are pure geniuses in some specific areas, sometimes reaching "superhuman" levels."
I've made that connection as well. South park helped..... Lol
Yeah, I'm glad that big scary hand of "The State" doesn't have a choke-hold on us... thank God the hand belongs to private corporations and the government they sponsor instead.
"An ever-greater abundance of materials" is indeed the secret of American capitalism -- the dark side of the secret is that there isn't an ever-greater abundance of resources physically in existence, so any system dependent on infinite growth as described here can only collapse in time.
I agree. However, I've heard a LOT of good things about Norway. To me, capitalism (the privatized means of production) is simply another form of dictatorship, just privatized.
@IndisguiseIam Plus, the WORLD had been crying out for a Democratic Social Communism. Whether or not they realize that is the term that best (currently) describes what they are looking for, is a different argument.
@IndisguiseIam "especially critical thinking and empathy"
I couldn't agree more. The reason these people are so naive is simply BECAUSE of critical thinking, or lack there of. It's not their fault necessarily, however. Again, people, WORLDWIDE, are being manipulated. Stop that manipulation and you will make geniuses out of even the "dumbest". I believe, the human mind is a beautiful thing, even WITH some so called "deficiencies".
@IndisguiseIam "People are afraid of it, and they lack the capabilities to make it work."
They haven't been given the chance. I have faith in people and resentment for those who suppress them. They are being KEPT so ignorant and sheltered. It's ALL part of "the plan".
@IndisguiseIam " And wrong if you assume we can do that by changing just the system."
The system is to ensure equality in the system. Educating the public is something entirely different, yet, also the first step. People are more open to this line of think than you realize. However, it's ALL about the delivery of said information. Also, I believe this is a better solution to be working on than trying to make a capitalist republic work. Less selfish too.
I watched this one my phone, so I couldn't see any message bubbles, but still. Thank you for posting this. Shit just spread this cartoon around enough and we wont have a problem anymore. People will know what has to be done. Most ppl already know, but cant face it yet.
First off why all the messages while the cartoon is playing ? get a grip dude no one needs your step by step play out of wot is wot further more like hell I would pay for information so basically your pointing out facts already known with the idea of being payed for it hmmmmm? sounds suspicious to me
@IndisguiseIam I see why you bring the "ism" issue up when referring to capitalism. However, I see the confusion only being due to the general public's warped view of it's definition.
@IndisguiseIam "There are no SYSTEMS that will work without maintenance"
The Democratic process will allow for change within the system as society changes. "as long as we keep believing in systems and -isms, we will forget system maintenance"
Again, I think a term is acceptable to use if a common agreement of definition can be had. I don't see anything wrong with using the term Democratic Social Communism, when the terms are understood as I defined them.
@IndisguiseIam The earth is flat, Catholics don't molest little boys, the US Government doesn't lie, Obama is for peace......go back to sleep little sheep......
@IndisguiseIam "Your assumption is based on workers with god-like powers working as a hive-mind."
There is PLENTY of able and willing people. We only have to work so many hours because that is yet ANOTHER device designed to keep us distracted. Take away the waste created by production based competition, plus waste created by the manipulated sense of need for material wealth and ego driven purchasing, and you will free up an ENORMOUS amount of labor and resources.
@IndisguiseIam "Thats why we need specialists to choose for us, and we need to choose them by their skill and ethics, not just by the issues they promise to fix."
Having a republic still leaves room for corruption.
@IndisguiseIam "The smartest man who ever lived would not be able to understand everything that goes on in politics."
I can understand that assumption. However, we are smarter than we give ourselves credit for. Also, if we didn't have to focus on surviving, we would have more time for philosophical enlightenment. Most don't understand because of devices put place by those in control to manipulate even our most basic of thought processes.
@IndisguiseIam "Its impossible to force every single voter to spend 12 hours a day just studying on what to vote."
I see your VERY valid point. However, that task seems so strenuous only due to the poor education system we have. The American education system is designed to keep us ignorant, not inform us. Reverse this process, and you will be left a pubic capable of making complex decisions.
@IndisguiseIam "Im thinking of "market communism". All workers receive some company stock, which makes them partial owners. They prosper or lose with the company, and together hold a sizeable vote."
@IndisguiseIam "When a new boss took over, this system was radically reduced in effeciency, and same exact thing happened with productivity. Stressed people got tired and needed more sickdays, which lowered productivity even more. That led to layoffs.'
@IndisguiseIam It's either this or Anarchy. Which is basically what a "free market" is. But the police protect the people at the top. So it's only Anarchy for those with power. Which means, capitalism is a form of dictatorship or a monarchy.
@IndisguiseIam "When working for a cause with a purpose, that purpose has to be kept "clean". For example, when creating a product (machine). All people want to add to it, but a design is best when its as simple as possible"
The WORKERS should be deciding that. Thus, the best designs and ideas will INEVITABLY be chosen.
@IndisguiseIam With the level of technology we have, and the available manpower, PLUS the things we ALREADY have, it wouldn't be that difficult to implement the new system.
"So, people with greatest desire for power and least wisdom to use it easily end up in leadership positions."
That's where a Democracy reigns supreme rather than a republic. The selfish fucks can still get a vote , but it's just ONE vote.
@IndisguiseIam "And the rest of the people need a personal reason, a personal gain out of their work"
GREAT point. I believe if we had a standard means of living (free housing, food, healthcare and education, within reason) and then reward those who CHOOSE work, a more fair system will evolve. But in the current system, one has to work to keep their home despite the fact that their home is already built and their energy could be spent on a new project, or nothing at all.
@IndisguiseIam With Democracy, the people get to equally voice and vote on their opinion of the direction of politics within their designated region. That is why I suggest a Democratic Social Communism.
Capitalism is privatized means of production. If the goal is to always be accumulating financial capital, then the public's, as well as the workers' best interests are not being taken into consideration. Capitalism is a disease.
@IndisguiseIam With Communism, you will not only have an abundance of material wealth but you will also have an abundance of available manpower simply due to the lack of competition and waste in production. With Socialism, every INDIVIDUAL worker gets to equally voice and vote on their opinion of the direction of their human capital within the particular company they wish to contribute their labor to.
The 13 Original Colonies were corporations chartered by the King. Our revolution was a people's uprising against corporate rule (Fascism). In the Constitution "We the People" created the government. The people are free and sovereign and have private rights which are sacrosanct. Government is subordinate and accountable and has public duties. Now with Citizens United Corporations have bought the government. Today's Corporatism is the newest expression of Fascism, and must be overturned.
@IndisguiseIam So you support capital? Or social? Or commun? Please DO elaborate.
Running off to another "ism"?
Hmm.... I didn't realize that understanding and supporting something is considered "running" to something. I just thought it is was accepting that something as a good philosophy and going with it.
Running away from the system won't solve anything. Dropping out only gives more control to those who you'd rather see stripped of their power. The only way to fix it is to undo the damage from the inside out. The easiest way to gain power is to make your enemies fight each other and then beat the one that remains after the infighting. We lost our freedom when we let the almighty dollar matter more than compassion for our fellow man. When we begin to see ourselves as human, we will move forward.
Spooky that this is actully true humm I wonder if it was a secret message

The dialogue at 8:48 is quite interesting.

What capitalism does best is create concentrations of wealth. It's been that way from the start. We've been living in a 3rd Gilded age for the past 30 years now and the divide between rich and poor is worse than ever. Capitalism creates concentrations of wealth. Repeat that mantra until it's deeply engrained into your brain.
cutis1000 4 weeks ago
@cutis1000 How can you possibly take that seriously as a mantra? not only is it laughably shit, but it also flows as well as a socialist society. Here's a better mantra, communists create class warfare.
Capitalism is far from perfect, but it's a majesty compared to the obvious alternative.
sergeantbatman 4 weeks ago
@sergeantbatman No CAPITALISM creates class warfare. And it's not a black and white scenario either. We're not talking about Communism. We're talking about using government to improve the quality of life for the people it serves. That is the core of democratic government. Capitalism does not care about the quality of the people it serves. It serves one thing only. That of the individual. The individual will not save society. Only society can save society.

@LibertyRealm It contradicts your argument because millions of families are wage slaves in a capitalist economy and have to take out usurious loans that they can't pay off and they enter into debt and students have to take even larger loans that they can never pay off because they are too steeped in debt! Sorry, but your argument doesn't hold sway.
cutis1000 3 weeks ago

Do you even know the definition of wage slavery?
Wage slavery is a rediculous term describing a fantasy world where the "capitalists" can control the price of labor and wages simply by mantaining a small demand and a huge offer of people wanting to work, which is insane because a capitalist economy is always in need of labor, qualified labor.

PlayboiX122 1 month ago
@swarizonaone There are Muslims and other followers of Islam that fight it, but they are not the part of those theocracies that hold power and militia. We want to fear the religion itself. nultdog 1 month ago
Freedomnotforced 1 month ago

MasterAdam100 1 month ago
@Master Capitalism morphs into corporatism too easily? Then it is not capitalism! Corporatism is when the government gets involved, steals from some people and gives to others. Capitalism is when the government is there only to protect freedom and voluntary exchange. Socialism is when government robs some and gives to others. Hence corporatism. People support socialism when the money goes to the poor but not the rich. But Bailouts and special interests are the shadow of socialism not capitalism
Freedomnotforced 1 month ago
@Freedomnotforced Everyone expects bankers and politicians to act in everyone's interest and that a Laissez Faire free market will just magically fix everything and debt never being a problem. It doesn't work that way. There has to be SOME government intervention and regulation. Not completely. That's going into totalitarian Communist waters. We're talking about SOCIALISM here. America has had Socialism mixed in with Capitalism since the 1930's.
MasterAdam100 1 month ago
It is the mix of Socialism and Capitalism that turned a 1929 recession into a great depression. The recession in 1920 was much worse in the first year but because the president didn't intervene it recovered in about 18months. Basically every monopoly has been created by governments and I challenge you to find a counter example. They take money from producers give it to consumers and wonder why the problems get worse. Then they hand out favours to big companies and choke out small businesses
Freedomnotforced 1 month ago
@MasterAdam100 Every complaint that comes from anti capitalist people is always about companies that screw people over after they have bought influence from government. That is corporatism which I hate. I paid about $5k this year to GM and didn't even get a car. In a free market they would only get money from me by giving me a car that I wanted or go broke. Wall Street bailouts was government robbing us and giving it to rich people.
Freedomnotforced 1 month ago
The housing bubble was created by government regulations that was supposed to make everyone be a home owner. They passed laws that made banks lend to unqualified people who couldn't afford the home and then insured the debt through Fannie and Freddie and kept the interest rate artificially low.The risk was taken out of lending so it was no wonder they were reckless. Now profits are privatised and losses are nationalised. The losses are essential in a free market to force good judgement
Freedomnotforced 1 month ago
@Freedomnotforced ----------Amen, and people like Barney Frank should have gone to prison over it.
swarizonaone 1 month ago
@Freedomnotforced It's been here and you benefit from it everyday.
MasterAdam100 1 month ago
@MasterAdam100 We benefit everyday from capitalism and have to fight our way through the socialism. I benefit from the true functions of government stated in the constitution. Protect us from foreign and domestic threats, uphold contracts and settle disputes, and a few services that everyone uses like street lights and sewage removal from our homes. They are supposed to provide real money (only gold and silver) but now it is fiat funny money which they print away (90% loss in 100 years)
Freedomnotforced 1 month ago
Also the socialist policies are the reason for all the jobs going overseas. It costs about $15 p/h to hire someone when you add in all costs. Most low skilled people cannot produce enough to justify this wage so they are forced onto welfare. There are billions of people who only cost about $5p/h so supply and demand forces the business to lower cost workers. If a homeless person wants to work for $5 then it is illegal, so he stays on the street. All the benefits of capitalism are being destroyed
Freedomnotforced 1 month ago
@Freedomnotforced Well, it's kind of weird that all countries in this 'overseas' world have minimum wage laws, often proportionately much more generous than the US has, and yet, it's the US that's losing?
TheSpiritOfTheTimes 1 month ago
@TheSpiritOfTheTimes That makes absolutely no sense. Jobs aren't exported overseas because wages are higher over there, they are exported because wages are lower. If employee costs were lower in US then all countries would send work to the US. But because they are in the top 10% of highest wage costs and regulations then the US doesn't import jobs. It is simple supply and demand economics!
Freedomnotforced 1 month ago
@Freedomnotforced You don't seem to understand what I said. Minimum wage laws exist everywhere, so do welfare benefits. Their effect of demotivating people to find work is negligible, their effect of preserving human dignity immesurable.
TheSpiritOfTheTimes 1 month ago
@TheSpiritOfTheTimes You don't seem to understand economics. We live in a global economy. Let's say you want to buy a pen - 3 people sell exactly the same pens. I price it at $10, next guy prices his at $5, next guy at $1. Which will you buy if they are exactly the same quality? Raising prices does not increase demand. People always want to buy the best quality at the lowest cost. Low skilled minorities with a market value of $5 cannot compete at the cost to hire them so the jobs go elsewhere
Freedomnotforced 1 month ago
@TheSpiritOfTheTimes When the minimum wage law was first started in South Africa it was the labour unions who lobbied for it. These unions would not accept black workers. But the black workers were not able to get jobs at $5 per day so the only way they could get a job was to offer to work for less. The whites hated this and forced a law that stated the wage level was that which the white union workers received. This stopped blacks from offering to work for less so whites could keep the jobs.
Freedomnotforced 1 month ago
Every time the minimum wage rate is increased teenage minority unemployment increases. Small businesses don't make much profit for many years, if any at all, so they have to reduce costs if they want to survive. If a teenager with no skills wants to work for $5p/h and the employer is happy to pay $5 then it is still illegal. Small companies cannot pay $15p/a for someone to do unskilled basic labour. So they just don't hire. If minimum wage really helped why not make it $20p/h or $30p/h?
Freedomnotforced 1 month ago
Why not just go to somalia, bangladesh, or any other poor country and just raise minimum wage to $15p/h? Then poverty would be eliminated if it really helps the poor. I understand the objective and I support it. But you need to look at the results rather than the objective. If I try to sell anything far above market rate and it is available elsewhere for less then it is obvious that people will go to where it is cheaper. I am sure you look for lower costs rather than higher costs!
Freedomnotforced 1 month ago
The problem is not that socialist policies demotivate people it is that the policies, rules and regulations price people out of the market. Everyone looks at the profits of huge corporations and passes laws because they could probably afford to pay more, but these laws destroy small companies with tiny profits and eliminate the entry level jobs for low skilled people. How would you feel if I told you that you are not allowed to work until you can justify $100kp/a?
Freedomnotforced 1 month ago
@IndisguiseIam Furthermore, nutrition is a BIG problem as to why people are "dumbed down". There is an abundance of studies that prove the food industry uses substances known to cause harm to the body and mind. Though, whether or not it is on purpose is a different argument. There are MANY factors to the equation of why the people make such bad decisions.

TheWanderinSoul 1 month ago
@swarizonaone Nope, but you got a job that paid you minimum wage and forcing you to live from paycheck to paycheck. Oh yeah, it's called WAGE SLAVERY. Something capitalism PIONEERED. :-)
cutis1000 4 weeks ago
@cutis1000 Sorry, but wage slavery is self-imposed in a free society. We are still free to that extent, I believe. Nobody keeps you in that minimum wage job except yourself. Now, in places like the old Soviet Union where, as an adolescent< you were assigned a job or trade and that is where you stayed. But we are not there yet. But if we are not willing to fight for something different, we will be there very shortly.
Pande2112 3 weeks ago
@Pande2112 Wage-slavery is self-imposed?? So everyone who is capable of working is capable of increasing their income? As if the jobs just fall of a tree? As if everyone can create whatever income they want? No. That's not how the jungle works and its not how capitalism works. There are rich and there are poor. There are exploited and there are those who do the exploiting. THAT IS HUMAN NATURE. And that is why capitalism benefits the FEW over the many. Government is the equalizer.
cutis1000 3 weeks ago
@swarizonaone - figures suggest that most rich were born rich - but I'm sure you're right - if everyone works hard they can all be in that top 1% !

Remember, Obama the democrat gave more money to the wealthy than EVERY republican president in all of history, COMBINED, in his first year!
johnmonk66 1 month ago

@IndisguiseIam Then why not start by adopting their system?
TheWanderinSoul 1 month ago
Yeah, I'm glad that big scary hand of "The State" doesn't have a choke-hold on us... thank God the hand belongs to private corporations and the government they sponsor instead.
"An ever-greater abundance of materials" is indeed the secret of American capitalism -- the dark side of the secret is that there isn't an ever-greater abundance of resources physically in existence, so any system dependent on infinite growth as described here can only collapse in time.

@IndisguiseIam "I think Canada is great"
I agree. However, I've heard a LOT of good things about Norway. To me, capitalism (the privatized means of production) is simply another form of dictatorship, just privatized.
TheWanderinSoul 1 month ago
@IndisguiseIam Plus, the WORLD had been crying out for a Democratic Social Communism. Whether or not they realize that is the term that best (currently) describes what they are looking for, is a different argument.

@IndisguiseIam Even the "mentally challenged" are capable of some AMAZING things, IF given the RIGHT chance.
TheWanderinSoul 1 month ago
@IndisguiseIam "especially critical thinking and empathy"
I couldn't agree more. The reason these people are so naive is simply BECAUSE of critical thinking, or lack there of. It's not their fault necessarily, however. Again, people, WORLDWIDE, are being manipulated. Stop that manipulation and you will make geniuses out of even the "dumbest". I believe, the human mind is a beautiful thing, even WITH some so called "deficiencies".

They haven't been given the chance. I have faith in people and resentment for those who suppress them. They are being KEPT so ignorant and sheltered. It's ALL part of "the plan".
TheWanderinSoul 1 month ago
@IndisguiseIam " And wrong if you assume we can do that by changing just the system."
The system is to ensure equality in the system. Educating the public is something entirely different, yet, also the first step. People are more open to this line of think than you realize. However, it's ALL about the delivery of said information. Also, I believe this is a better solution to be working on than trying to make a capitalist republic work. Less selfish too.

TheWanderinSoul 1 month ago
@IndisguiseIam "Your assumption is based on workers with god-like powers working as a hive-mind."
There is PLENTY of able and willing people. We only have to work so many hours because that is yet ANOTHER device designed to keep us distracted. Take away the waste created by production based competition, plus waste created by the manipulated sense of need for material wealth and ego driven purchasing, and you will free up an ENORMOUS amount of labor and resources.

TheWanderinSoul 1 month ago
@IndisguiseIam "Im thinking of "market communism". All workers receive some company stock, which makes them partial owners. They prosper or lose with the company, and together hold a sizeable vote."

@IndisguiseIam "When a new boss took over, this system was radically reduced in effeciency, and same exact thing happened with productivity. Stressed people got tired and needed more sickdays, which lowered productivity even more. That led to layoffs.'
That's capitalism for you.....
TheWanderinSoul 1 month ago
@IndisguiseIam It's either this or Anarchy. Which is basically what a "free market" is. But the police protect the people at the top. So it's only Anarchy for those with power. Which means, capitalism is a form of dictatorship or a monarchy.

Unfortunately, money IS power......

TheWanderinSoul 1 month ago
@IndisguiseIam "And the rest of the people need a personal reason, a personal gain out of their work"
GREAT point. I believe if we had a standard means of living (free housing, food, healthcare and education, within reason) and then reward those who CHOOSE work, a more fair system will evolve. But in the current system, one has to work to keep their home despite the fact that their home is already built and their energy could be spent on a new project, or nothing at all.
TheWanderinSoul 1 month ago
@IndisguiseIam I what you mean now by "ism" within capitalism. You mean wealth capital vs human capital, right?
I also get what you mean by your last response to me. However, I don't consider it running if it's the most best solution.
TheWanderinSoul 1 month ago
@IndisguiseIam With Democracy, the people get to equally voice and vote on their opinion of the direction of politics within their designated region. That is why I suggest a Democratic Social Communism.
Capitalism is privatized means of production. If the goal is to always be accumulating financial capital, then the public's, as well as the workers' best interests are not being taken into consideration. Capitalism is a disease.
TheWanderinSoul 1 month ago
@IndisguiseIam With Communism, you will not only have an abundance of material wealth but you will also have an abundance of available manpower simply due to the lack of competition and waste in production. With Socialism, every INDIVIDUAL worker gets to equally voice and vote on their opinion of the direction of their human capital within the particular company they wish to contribute their labor to.
TheWanderinSoul 1 month ago
@IndisguiseIam Capitalism is a term that is defined as, "privatized means of production".
That is why I can leave it behind. I suggest a Democratic Social Communism. Here is why.
TheWanderinSoul 1 month ago
The 13 Original Colonies were corporations chartered by the King. Our revolution was a people's uprising against corporate rule (Fascism). In the Constitution "We the People" created the government. The people are free and sovereign and have private rights which are sacrosanct. Government is subordinate and accountable and has public duties. Now with Citizens United Corporations have bought the government. Today's Corporatism is the newest expression of Fascism, and must be overturned.
davyfinnigan 1 month ago
@IndisguiseIam So you support capital? Or social? Or commun? Please DO elaborate.
Running off to another "ism"?
Hmm.... I didn't realize that understanding and supporting something is considered "running" to something. I just thought it is was accepting that something as a good philosophy and going with it.
Shouting?
I was EMPHASIZING.
