in my personal opinion ..The rabble is a great band , they are the defenition of modern punk , but then again just my opinion, there will always be people who say that it was better "back in the days",, but to keep punk alive and well we have to learn to appreciate the "new music" !! love the rabble, whitout knowing it , they have helped me through alot of shit .. !!!!! these guys kick rancids ass and mxpx . there is no comparison. they might sound like rancid, but they know how to do it right. Plus this might be the only big band that is left that hasnt sold out . support them . diy or die mother fuckers!

I love these guys, very nice change from what I hear lately, no offense Chazz but I don't like green day. I only wish i could see them live out here in Phoenix....eh oh well keep doing what your doing and I'll keep buying the albums :D

@therabble love you guys but you don't know about Green Day if you say that there new stuff is better than there old stuff, two reasons they were written when they were 16 to like 21 so they were still quite young and its just better ;) but yeah easy my faourite of your records!
@therabble You know why I love the Rabble? Because everyone in it is down to earth, they like what they like and they aren't afraid of what other people think. Green Day came from the punk ethos, whether you like it, they are punk. Punk its a genre with many sub genres. Their music is punk, it was and still is. The punk lifestyle is different. in many ways they still are punks. Just punks that were good enough to make it
@murray8520 no. punk 'ethos' is to not go maintsream, because music isn't about money. for green day, music was about the money, and they sold out to mtv big time, so no they're not punk. they're music might sounds similar (or used to), and they might say they're inspired by the sex pistols and the clash etc, but they're not punk. full stop.
if you were to do some research you would know that Green Day's Kerplunk album is one of the biggest selling indie records sold. after a huge hometown success they realized they could maybe make a decent living off music. they sent out demo tapes and got a call from warner bros after the producer heard longview. they got an offer and took it. dookie was expected to sell 1 million copies max... it sold over 15 million in the US alone. A small music video which was recorded on a budget on maybe
100 dollars filmed in Billie's apartment was sent off to MTV. so do you expect them to feel bad that the public liked their music? yeah, they are punk. Ramones had many love songs too, they were Joey's favorites. I think that this band is sticking to the classic, but being fresh and contemporary at the same time.
I think they've got it just right, Rock with Punk influences - great lyrics and it is fresh music. Been playing it all week at work, got everyone asking who it is, which means they like it too! I'm going to try and get my band to cover some of their stuff, including this one, "Carry on" and "Friday Night".
I don't know if this band is a punk band. They know it better than anyone. Sure it's a rock band with many punk influencies... But it's a band of 2000...
Well actually I don't care. I like enjoy their music, it's so fresh, hopefull with great lyrics... However I still have some gilties of listening to them... I know, I'm a victim of those 'i-know-everything-rock guys'.
This is an amazing video. These guys are so talented it beggers belief. This is also where Chazz met Raven on the set of this video. A great song and there's more to come.
It's funny because usually the kids who call bands like this posers/sellouts are either kids who think every "real" punk band must sound like The Casualties or are dumb Crust Punk Nazis who refuse to listen to anything that doesn't sound like shit. On another note, this band rules and are one of the most original modern Punk bands in my opinion.
Too many kids are preoccupied with whether a band is "punk enough" for them to like them.
That's such an immature way to fuckin' look at it. I've been involved in the scene for 8 years, playing in bands, going to shows, hosting D.I.Y basement/backyard shows, and the biggest problem is kids not liking a band because they think they aren't punk enough.
Bottom line: If you like the music, I don't care if it's bluegrass, listen to it. Who cares what anyone thinks.

Rupe Rabble is the drummer (lefty) and vocals
Jamie Rabble is the bassist
They had a fourth member awhile ago but i dont know what happened there.
In their more hardcore songs Rupe does a little more of the singing it seems like

Green Day came from the punk ethos, whether you like it, they are punk. Punk its a genre with many sub genres. Their music is punk, it was and still is. The punk lifestyle is different. in many ways they still are punks. Just punks that were good enough to make it

@murray8520 no. punk 'ethos' is to not go maintsream, because music isn't about money. for green day, music was about the money, and they sold out to mtv big time, so no they're not punk. they're music might sounds similar (or used to), and they might say they're inspired by the sex pistols and the clash etc, but they're not punk. full stop.

if you were to do some research you would know that Green Day's Kerplunk album is one of the biggest selling indie records sold. after a huge hometown success they realized they could maybe make a decent living off music. they sent out demo tapes and got a call from warner bros after the producer heard longview. they got an offer and took it. dookie was expected to sell 1 million copies max... it sold over 15 million in the US alone. @murray8520 well done for just proving my point that they sold out. i wasn't talking about how much money they spent on their videos, I was talking about them cashing in on a big record deal. and ok, i'll tell you now i wouldn't. people like tim armstrong are succesful in the music industry, have a good name for themself, are well off, and don't get bugged senseless by people everyone when walking down the street because they chose to not go mainstream and stay loyal to their fans.

man alot of views on this whole punk thing,i mean,some of you have a point and some of you dont.punk doesnt have a specific sound...like,it has changed over the years but not in a badway,i mean,compare black flag or dead kenedys to like,the casualties or the unseen,its still punk music,but the genre is changing slightly,its bands like the rabble that are being origanal and adding more meaning and more talent into the muysic that 3 chords and fast beat drumming,still punk rock, still good

@HxC4life11 Oh man, completely..I still go house shows every weekend where theres so many holes in the walls from previous nights you lose count, there will ALWAYS be a underground hardcore punk seen, same with the 80s, But I like the rabble, because they have some music that is fucking hardcore punk, but they are also very talented musicians and don't limit themselves,cheers dude.

I think people really need to stop worrying about "punk" is and what it's not, because no one can ever say, if people like crass,and black flag,thats awsome, if people like green day,blink 182 or fall out boy, that's awsome too. I think people really need to take the "punk" part of it out of the equation, the rabble are insanely talented. and I leave it at that, that is why they are one of my favourite bands,cheers mate.

yeah, they are punk. Ramones had many love songs too, they were Joey's favorites. I think that this band is sticking to the classic, but being fresh and contemporary at the same time.

I think they've got it just right, Rock with Punk influences - great lyrics and it is fresh music. Been playing it all week at work, got everyone asking who it is, which means they like it too! I'm going to try and get my band to cover some of their stuff, including this one, "Carry on" and "Friday Night".

I don't know if this band is a punk band. They know it better than anyone. Sure it's a rock band with many punk influencies... But it's a band of 2000...
Well actually I don't care. I like enjoy their music, it's so fresh, hopefull with great lyrics... However I still have some gilties of listening to them... I know, I'm a victim of those 'i-know-everything-rock guys'.

It's funny because usually the kids who call bands like this posers/sellouts are either kids who think every "real" punk band must sound like The Casualties or are dumb Crust Punk Nazis who refuse to listen to anything that doesn't sound like shit. On another note, this band rules and are one of the most original modern Punk bands in my opinion.

This is why the scene is dying.
Too many kids are preoccupied with whether a band is "punk enough" for them to like them.
That's such an immature way to fuckin' look at it. I've been involved in the scene for 8 years, playing in bands, going to shows, hosting D.I.Y basement/backyard shows, and the biggest problem is kids not liking a band because they think they aren't punk enough.
Bottom line: If you like the music, I don't care if it's bluegrass, listen to it. Who cares what anyone thinks.
