I'm just reading Rob Young's excellent Electric Eden [2010]. It contains some great passages about Shirley and Dolly and the English pastoral scene of the late 70s/early 80s. And yes, this is sublime music!
Well said "donaldolofsson" simply wonderful music, brings back some great memories, and your right music doesn’t come much better than this, the album “Anthems in Eden” in particular springs to mind. Also their collaboration with some fantastic musicians throughout the years, Robin Williamson sang a duet with Shirley Collins that was just magical.
Ha, no comments and 50 viewers! Sad state of affairs to be honest. Music and lyrics don´t get much better than this. Goosebumps everytime I listen, impossible not to be moved. This is just amazing!
