I just got my ordered bagpipe, i have always wanted to learn to play it. I watched youtube videos for awhile and then i thaught that i was ready. But i cannot blow the bag up, how hard i even try, and i know i have great lungs and so but it seems like the air is going out through the ''drones''. How do i fix this? cmon everyone needs to learn how sometime! I would appreciate some good help here!

@96kto9u you shouldnt even consider playing the full bagpipes until you have masters the practise chanter, like 1 year to 1.5 years of playing. there is no point skipping this process because you will find it too difficult. even with proper practise, good teacher and commitment, the transition is still very hard. do yourself a favour and pick up the practise chanter

@96kto9u Get a practice chanter from The British Shop. Get Sandy Jones Piping Tutor, possibly find a bagpipe instructor in your area. You can order Drone Corks form The British Shop to stop air flow to your drones and practice keeping the bag blown up, then once comfortable uncork the drones and see how long you can let them play. Learn on the chanter and you'll be ready. This is coming from a 3 time gold medalist bagpiper.
