  • Can I use wired ribbon or will the wire melt?

  • Today I made my first bow, went well but you are more beautiful. Thank you very much for your tutorial..

  • Hi, how do I heat seal the ribbons to keep them from fraying at the ends? I don't have a wood burner...

  • Only grossgrain works?

  • @rebekahjg Satin works, too. The ribbon just needs to be made from synthetic (polyester) material to properly curl

  • Thanks for this!

  • Thanks for sharing!!!

  • You are awesome!!!!! Number one! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and tips, I love your videos !!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you so much for sharing your talent :) You have the best videos Ive seen and I am always on your channel!

  • so cute

  • I have been making Korker bows for quite a while now. I spray mine with starch and then bake ad it make a tight curl. Have you had any feedback about the ribbons coming unkorker after heavy use or if it gets wet?

  • I just had to show this video to my husband so he wont think i was crazy , I told him i needed some wooden doles so i could bake my ribbon and make it curly and he was like uh huh oookay than lol . Thanks for the video :)

  • how would you connect this to an alligator clip?

  • really liked this video i'm making my first korker bow for my daughter shes in cheer so lets see how mine turn out!!:)

  • Can we use silk ribbon

  • Thank you, this is great!

  • Thank you so much for the videos. You explain and demonstrate each step very well. I love your videos.

  • that is very neat. =)

  • Beautiful! I love your weaved headbands, and have been trying to figure out a way to get the curly (I didn't know they call them "Korkers"), ribbons; have been trying different methods such as stiffener, etc. Thanks for the oven tip! I just found your channel, & love your work!

  • I've done 2 batches of korker ribbon in the oven, but the only thing that i'm noticing is that the darker ribbons that have patterns or what not on them .... they keep fading somee... and the colors aren't as bright anymore??Is there a way to prevent them from fading?? and also is there a way to make them stiffer? Mine came out a litle flimsy, and would like them to be a little stiffer!! Thanks!! I LOVE YOUR VIDEO~!

  • How does this not catch on fire!?!?!?!? Everyone keeps asking this. My mom said the ribbon will catch on fire! Can someone please explain how it won't catch fire or if it will catch on fire?

  • @xoxKirahB00 It doesn't. The ribbon is just heated, not touching the heating elements. I've baked the ribbon in both gas and electric ovens. Just like anything you put in your oven, make sure the wooden dowels are not touching or close to the heating elements. But, if you don't feel comfortable with it, don't do it.

  • @xoxKirahB00 The low temp and keeping it away from the element prevents it from catching fire

  • Great video!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

  • Love your video!! You make it look so easy and less intimidating! Thanks

  • How long is the ribbon to be and the dowel rod?

  • I Loooove your videos! I made a hairbow for my daughter immediately after watching video. You are are so clear wtih directions. Thank you so much for sharing this! I cannot wait to try all the different bows for my little girl.

  • YES THIS IS THE BEST, THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS WITH US.

  • Excellent instructional video. This is the BEST one I've seen!

  • How does this not catch on fire? I asked my mom if we could do this and she said it was gonna start a fire ...

  • what kind of ribbon do I use for safety

  • Sorry about the first comment I was using my husband's account for some reason lol.

  • Did you get nervous at first when you put those in the oven, how safe is it.

  • WE don't have oven--- can i use microwave instead???

  • @sMaLLy143 No,please don't use a microwave.

  • does the ribbon have to be grosgrain and 3/8. Can I use another kind of ribbon and size?

  • This is a great video! Super informative! I can't wait to start making my own bows for my four month old!!

  • thanks for posting, saves me from buying them haha now i can make em :)

  • I read another lady's blog where she said to wet the ribbon before going into the oven. Do you do that? I have never done this before and I'm nervous about burning my light colored ribbons.

  • you just saved me alot of.. money i have 2girls and buy these like crazy from gymboree for $6 a set...thanx

  • u just saved me alot of money...i have 2 girls and i buy these like crazy from gymboree and crazy 8 stores for $6 a set...thanx super easy

  • Can I use fabric stiffer instead bake it in the oven?

  • @cantikq Yes, you can, but the curl may not last as long. Baking permanently changes the composition of the ribbon by slightly melting it and then it cools in the new shape on the dowel. Stiffener will just hold the shape until the stiffener wears out.

  • @HairHardware can i use an oven toaster?

  • is it floss like for teeth lol or what kind boy this makes me feel silly lol

  • @snowflakesilvermyst8 Don't feel silly, I can see how that is confusing. It's actually embroidery floss.

  • @snowflakesilvermyst8 LoL....I was wondering the same thing. So that makes 2 of us =]

  • can i use regular ribbon from walmart..?

  • @ariasmelissa909 Yes, as long as the ribbon is made from synthetic fibers such as polyester. If it is cotton ribbon (like twill tape) it will just burn. Most grosgrain and satin ribbon is polyester.

  • i love kroker bows. and been wonderin on how to make them. but now i no thanks for this tutorial...

  • do you only use grosgrain ribbon to make them?

  • @cocourtco Grosgrain is the most popular, but you can also use satin ribbon. As long as the ribbon is synthetic it should bake and curl well in the oven.

  • Is korker ribbon different from regular ribbon and where can i get a dowel? Thank you.

  • @cremesuga1212 I BELIEVE IT'S GROGRAIN RIBBON...HAS LIL RIDGES IN IT...

  • @cremesuga1212 You can get wooden dowel at walmart in the craft sectiong or your local craft store :)

  • @cremesuga1212 Yes, it's just grosgrain ribbon, we have dowel kits available on our website or craft stores should also have it available. You may need to cut the down to fit in your oven or may have to buy variety packs if you purchase it from a craft store.

  • Cool thanks

  • Já tentei varias vezes fazer Korkers, mas não consigo qual seria a temperatura para colocar ao forno? os meus saem grudados e queimados, tem algum produto que colocamos para ele ficar engomado?

    brigada!

  • Hi, can you tell me how much ribbon is need on each dowel.

  • Thanks very helpful! I was going to buy but now I can just make my own :)

  • could the ribbon be wider or smaller? or will that mess it up? Thanks so much for the video!

  • @YagamiFan Yes! You can modify the ribbon to your needs. 1/4 and 1/8 width ribbon make really cute mini korkers and I have seen 5/8 ribbon done as well. It would probably be hard to do wider than 5/8. I have also seen some people make korkers on square dowels. It is a kind of neat geometric effect. The ribbon does keep the square shape!

  • This is great! I have been trying to figure this out. Thank you for explaining it so well!

  • where can i purchase this type of ribbon

  • @FabilousFabi1 Any craft store or place that sales ribbon!

  • This is aweomse!!! Been wanting to make these for my dughter for her dance shows..Thaks for posting!!!!!!

  • I want to make of few of these for my neice. What kind of ribbon do you use and where can I purchase it?

  • Thanks! I so did not want to pay for these and now I don't have to. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge.

  • hello i wanted to know what method of heat sealing did you use to keep the ends from fraying and if u used nothing will the oven heat seal the ends alone? ty so much:) great video your great!

  • @lakepax In the video she says to use a lighter or some Fray-Seal on it =) She just doesn't do it in the video.

  • hello i wanted to know what method of heat sealing did you use to keep the ends from fraying and if u used nothing will the oven heat seal the ends alone? ty so much:)

  • But wait I have a question in the oven for 25 minutes wont they get burned or something

  • Awesome!

  • Do you need special ribbon to do a korker bow? Or can you use regular one like satin ribbon?

  • Hi, I'm hard of hearing and need to know what is that you put all the dows and ribbons in pan for? Then microwave how long? and do you put something in there to make it hard or what? please help me about this. thanks

  • i'm deaf- saw what to do, BUT little details that are spoken, i cant catch- whats the oven on? how long? anything else spoken that cant be "seen"?

  • @ecodelight oven temp is at 275 and you bake for 25 minutes, wait for ribbon to cool before unwinding them :0)

  • Your videos are very helpful. Thank you so much for taking the time to record these for us!

  • how long are the wooden dows & ribbon that you are using?

  • wow...I didn't realize korkers were so quick and easy to make! Thanks for the instructions! :o) Your video is going to save my husband a LOT of money LOL

  • Thank you so much this is exactly what I was looking for!!! You are a huge help!! Thanks again!!! =))))

  • can u use the microwave an if can what to put it on

  • @MsGlitzyGlamour Due to the metal parts on the clothespin I wouldn't try it with a microwave. Any other material you try to keep the ribbon on there with may either melt or damage your microwave.

  • hi! can u please tell me wich kind of sticks do u use for making korkers? cannot find it in italy...thanks a lot

  • @baptistmomof6- heat sealing methods are using a wood burner to seal off the ends or using a lighter and just barely touching it to he ribbon

  • WOW! A friend of mine sent me this link and I watched it and am inspired. I have 1 daughter after having 5 boys so this is perfect for us. I have one question. how do you seal the ends of the ribbon? burn it how? when? after you cook it? She did not go into great detail with that part. Help me please!

  • This is VERY helpful... Thank you....

  • What kind of ribbon do yu use any or is it actually called korker ribbon?

  • Your korkers are so puffy. When I make mine, they tend to curl under or up together. How could I avoid this? Thanks!

  • @jennynicole7777 I have the same question as well.

  • hehehe, her cat walks past at 2:00

  • I only cook mine for 10 minutes and it works great.

  • WOW This is great! Thank you for sharing!

  • where do u buy the wooden vale

  • How would I attach a korker bow to a ponytail holder???

  • you could sew it but a hot glue gun would probably be ideal. I found that the hot glue holds well too. Make sure to use a strong hair tie though. Hope that works out for you!
