@Mr67type1 I agree. This lineup is okay, but looks like George need to head back to Plainfield, NJ and get some new talent. It would be nice to see another Eddie Hazel, Fuzzy, Boogie, Glen, Gary or Bernie just to name a few.
I use to get high off the music alone. And I don't even mess with drugs or alchohol. I be dancing and tripping off them screaming guitars. With my hands up in the air, my eyes closed, and dancing away.
They AWESOME ! you only see a 4 minute guitar solo.Poor sound quality. they're never playin the same thing the same way on different nights. -but don't crybabies. If Kidd Funkadelic ,Lige,Blackbyrd,Garry Shider,Mike Clip Payne and all that talent can't do you that's just hilarious
This is pfunk for kiddies; there is NO funk in the drumming, and that lady has to pick up the tempo, there are a bunch of people on stage and none of them are making noise, and mike hampton is clearly holding back and playing more metally than funky.
For PFunk the highest standard is held. This is a fail, you can tell from the retirement home tempo.
i would also have to agree with you, this is funkentelechy dried up without the singers, i mean george has all these people on stage doing nothing and instead of more people singing he should have more people playing a instrument. the horn section, two does not cut it, they were strongest when they had three or more. George needs to go back to his standard of what he used to say back in the day, "Don't let him slow down" Well george u kinda did but i would still pay to see them live!!
If George paid his players well enough he would have good players. This is clearly crap. I'm actually disappointed and embarassed for them. At least the horn player hit his part.lol
Well back then, I think it was around 81, me and a friend of mine met a few of the guys in a park in D.C. where they showed off the Mothership in a tractor trailer and we spoke with Lige, he said he was making about 28k a year. Which isn't all that bad for back then, but I gotta wonder if he got paid on time with all the rumors about George having problems.
@mustang1834 I know enough to know that while Mike does do well on the solo, the band is lacking Skeet and Dennis. While I do like Lige's playing the drummer has no imagination, which brings down the rest of them. How's that? Do you think I know enough now or do you want more.
actually, i've played with the plainfield and brunswick funk crews before and i play several instruments, some even with classical training...your internet toughguy act = /fail
kicked it with mike hampton in mineapolis back in the late 80's, using a fuzz pedal/chorus box/wah wah pedal, and a few little secret pedals I wont mention
I miss Garry!!

He was playing a telecaster through a fuzz box and a mesa boogie stack. It was SICK!
