  • Love this song, very cool take!

  • yeah, but ironically that was the FIRST song the beatles recorded for rubber soul.

  • The Beatles did that like a BOSS!!!!!!!!!

  • john always said he hated this song.

  • I love this song, anyone else notice how he sang different towards the end of the beatles? Anyways love it thanks for the post

  • @wewillbugyou He was being sarcastic, not trying to sing like himself from a few years ago, which he could have done easily.

  • This was Lennon's least favourite song that he wrote. I always skip it when listening to Rubber Soul.

  • @morganfitzp make an opinion for yourself.

  • @scottelement : Let me rephrase that: I find this song misogynistic compared to other songs on Rubber Soul that express more nuanced frustration with women, (e.g. "Norwegian Wood," "You Won't See Me," "I'm Looking Through You," etc.) That such a great album ends with this violent message of "Be faithful or I'll kill you" leaves a bad taste in my mouth and runs contrary to what the Beatles were about. After a while, I was like, "What was Lennon thinking?" Then I learned he regretted writing it.

  • @morganfitzp Jog on you absolute bellend. Take your lame ass feminist dogma elsewhere. Only someone wrapped up in that left-wing tripe uses the word misogyny, like it's akin to racism, a blanket catch-all to trotted out whenever something is perceived to be less than favourable to women. Fucking idiots. It was just a song that revealed the level of his personal jealousy and insecurity. Not hating all women.

  • @VomMax1200 And George wrote the best Beatles song ever with Something anyway/

  • this is marvellous ;)

  • They should have used some of these bluesy remakes on the album.

  • great lennon corinthians fan

  • better than official take...lol

  • Apparently, John hated this song at the Time XD

  • @cathkinghost got to Wikipedia and search Testicle

  • @cathkinghost If you don't know what a testicle is you really don't need to know. If you still do, ask your parents.

  • I like it :D Is anywhere longer version ?

  • No sense...I`m would be more satisfied,

if John and Paul better turned more attention to songs like "Is not It A Pity (Get Back Session).... : (

  • @VoxMax1200 exactly. George had many, many songs to contribute at that time (Not Guilty, Circles, Sour Milk Sea and many demos which later were released at ATMP), but he was, as usually, overlooked :( no wonder he got fed up with being in this group.

  • @MichalFokt Yeah!!This is a complete waste of time...Emerging from the shadows of John and Paul with evocative songs, George showed he was their equal. Whether or not they knew how brilliant he was, one thing is sure: he recorded a life-affirming masterpiece. ATMP !!!

  • @MichalFokt I am actually surprised George even showed up for the Get Back sessions in January '69. It was already clear he was fed up with the Beatles. The White Album saw John/Paul's indifference or hostility to his music continue (with yet another fully recorded Harrisong ommited from the final LP while Revolution 9 & Wild Honey Pie made the final cut). The quantitiy/quality of George's Get Back songs was impressive. Still, his music was shunned & he was disrespected & treated like dirt.

  • @redletter2008 well, John and Paul were two big egos at that time, fully focused on themselves, true, but in late 1968, George had several concerts with Bob Dylan and others, if I´m not mistaking, and he quite enjoyed it, so when Paul called him and other Beatles to the studio and presented them the idea of "back to the roots", including some plans of live playing, he was interested in it, at first, at least until that infamous opinion exchange with Paul around 10th January...

  • It's not fake - It's from 01-31-69 the final day of the "Let It Be" sessions. It was part of a jam that included "Take This Hammer", "Black Bear Blues" and a bunch of other songs. You can clearly hear Lennon on lead and McCartney in the background.

  • thats fake...i think...

  • no, it's real, January 24th, 1969 =)

  • @lukka42 nah its them

  • sounds great. lennon with a lower voiced drawl fits that song perfectly.

  • You think you heard every Beatle song then you stumble upon this! Great!

  • Who sings it???

Paul is on the back vocals, but who`s another?

  • john on lead, paul on back a nd the Oooh sat the end...

  • John... DUH

  • Comment removed

  • actually i think it's John's

  • @glamdalek yeah it's john's. he wrote it in 1965 on rubber soul

  • nope.

  • Yep.

  • @ika0514 aint

  • It's John Lennon singing lead.

  • Agreed!

  • they're really trying to sound like the band.

  • Its so weird to hear the Beatles in their "Let It Be" stage sing something from Rubber Soul..... it's amazing how far they changed in such a short period of time. 1965-1969.... 4 or so years and they were like a different band. That's why they are the best ever and no one can top them!

  • They could turn it on or off or any which way.

  • Ive seen a recording of them playing Help! in 1968

  • when I was 12 i lost a testicle to a badger

  • WHAT?!?!?!?!

  • Amazing

  • @mongpig5 Ouch, sorry to hear that, man.

  • What you have to understand is that all musicians mess around like that when working in studios or rehearsals...it's natural. Being the Beatles, all us fanatics want to hear everything and anything hoping it will let a genie out of a mythical Beatles recording that will present us with an album to follow Let It Be. I really do believe that is the subconscious universal hankering...a brand new Beatles album full of wonder and love and greatness.

  • I think people want to hear every thing the Beatles did because the Beatles were as close to perfection as there ever will be. Once the Beatles broke up, people realized that the peak of music was over, and that everything they hear from now on will be inferior. People try to find these little recordings because it's like experiencing the Beatles(perfection) for the first time.

  • Exactly.

  • no words but asome thats all i say

  • Ya have to say yes, they were "warming up" before the session really got started, but as ringo said, there were some fans that would've be satisfied if we just walked on stage and farted into the mics. Guess there are still some around. They were the best in my book but why in the later years do they fuck up every attempt to play their early songs?

  • Ya know, you get bored sitting 'round doin' nothing for hours at a time in the studio, so you "doodle" around--nothing serious. They could have played "jingle bells" and changed the words for a goof. This wasn't for anybody to hear. They forgot about it five seconds after they played it.

  • Understanding what you said, it didn't answer the question. Maybe they could perform a song recorded merely 4 years before........any song, but maybe somewhere, someone out there has a decent recording of the "Abbey Road" Beatles doing a half decent performance of "Taxman" "Ask me why", "From me to you" or "Hello Goodbye" . We also understand we were never suppose to hear these outakes but I am not one of those people Ringo referred to wanting to hear Beatle farts. To me this is just that.

  • Right--My response was to the line that DgiisThatguy wrote ...."why in the later years do they fuck up every attempt to play their early songs? ". I don't think this is a serious attempt to perform a song. If you listen carefully John has just started to half heartedly (Bluesy) sing and Paul & Ringo join in. I think anybody who plays an instrument will allow himself to play something mindlessly simple, Lennon did this and the others joined in (Paul GOT the pun and sung badly--On Purpose)

  • I also would like to hear them do a serious "cover" of one of their own songs but I don't think one exists simply because they never allowed themselves to look back.

  • One After 909

  • and when im 64

  • Tongue firmly in cheek, in Let it be Paul makes fun of the words to that very song

  • That's not exactly true. One After 909 was one of their earliest songs, and they attempted to record it in 1963, but it was never released. So in a way, they did make a cover of one f their earlier unreleased songs I guess. xD

  • @hotazsun62 "one after 909", the rooftop concert. Done.

  • exactly. way over analysed. just a nice little piece of history. i like it for that reason.

  • @hotazsun62 but it was on rubber soul lol

  • Hey now - just when I thought I couldn't hear anything new

  • very cool, i like it a bit slower, and the backing is great!! good version

  • Thanks for putting this up!

  • Thanks for the comment!!

  • lol John hated this song

  • They believe they are The Band? lol

    it's delicious, but not more

  • love it with the mccartney backing, if it was a little louder would've been ace

  • cool
