  • I think the sundowners are good plane to have a class built around them.

  • Yes, they are. Unfortunately, Horizon is basically pricing us out of the class. The price of the plane went way up and they are not as appealing anymore to the racers.

  • ???

  • rcpro 17, is there a comment that is supposed to go here? Just curious...Chuck???

  • thank you, i have a os 75 ax on my sundowner 50, and i have a os 55 ax on my pylon racer nemises...thanks. i think that i will put a saito 36cc for my formula 1.

  • what setup are you runing on the sundowner 50, what engine, and whats the prop, and what type exhast.

  • Currently we are running the Thunder Tiger Pro .46 with a 10X7 prop and the stock muffler, no modifications to the airframe and a minimum dry weight of 5 lbs. 12 oz. Since this is our first year racing, we went with this combo as a middle ground between our "sport" class and our quickie class. These planes can be easily flown by just about any novice flyer and even though they may not be the fastest things around, they make for some very competitive racing and are alot of fun.
