best buy version does have the Bluetooth, and the 8gig SSD for fast boot up. please let me know what best buy version is missing. when i am typing i tend to hit the corner of the space key and on this laptop it would not work from either corner, (space key will go down but will not register), my other complain was about the jumpy touch pad, even after adjustment and downloading the latest driver for it it was still acting funny. i loved the super fast boot time and the quietness.had to return

Im looking for a laptop that's portable yet is powerful with at least an i7 processor 15" display, dedicated graphics card with at least 1gb of dedicated graphics and has good battery life. The few laptops I've seen that fit this category are the hp envy, dell xps 15z, and the sony vaio s series (probably top choice) so out of the 4 laptops which would you recommend over the other?
@DKassaian1219 im actually typing this on the xps 15z, its a pretty sick laptop and it has good battery life and is amazingly fast, i have i7 with 2gb graphics. 8gb of ram. just theres some cooling issues so i recommend a cooling pad if you game for maybe an hour. :D
@DaShmoopies The gpu is ok but has only 128 bit bus. The excessive 1gig of vram will not be used. Considering I paid 830 (euros) for the S01 and the 15z goes for 1599, I'm not unhappy with my decision. If I had had 1600 lying around, I would've rather gone for a MBP.
The real advantages are sound, display and SSD (yours should have one), as the quad core ain't much better than i5 in real life, and the graphics is worse.

Both are the same price and hows the series 7 build quality?

I just purchased the best buy version. It does have a back lit keyboard, express cache (8GB SSD), 8GB of ram, 1TB hard drive, bluetooth plus everything that the one in this video has. The ONLY difference is the graphics card, it is a AMD Radeon 6490m. So it has 512mb GDDR5 instead of 1GB GDDR5, which takes a couple hundred dollars off the price.
@deathbananacake The one with the 6750M can handle almost any game. The most graphics intensive games(Battlefield 3, Metro 2033, Crysis 2, etc) will only work on low or medium settings.

@F1NGER of what I know the B is the best buy version. It has a 1TB HD vs. 750GB, but the graphics card is slightly lower quality (AMD Radeon 6490M vs. 6750M) and there's no back lit keyboard.

why is it that everyone who owns an apple needs to make it known that theres is always 'better'? most of the so called problems you guys are having with it are software based, and your too stupid to setup windows, because ur used to a mac. saving 1500 dollars and getting a slighty downgrade screen, and exactly the same touchpad, literally. samsung used the same part. i think its totally worth it. you can always install osx on it with bootcamp, or use vmware. good review
@omarian0 It is a little sensitive under "C" and "M", thats the only little carry down on the laptop for most people but hey " the space bar wont kill you" and the touch pad is pretty good and very large, you can go into the settings and set two finger tap for right click etc NB. You dont have to click the pad and thats a nice feature on the laptop.. Overall it is a good quality laptop and i would recommend you to buy it.... The laptop is AWSOME

@eplusuful Had the same issue. Here is one way to solve the problem: right click on the video - settings - unckeck "Hardware Acceleration" on the Adobe flash player settings.

On full brightness the screen is OK but the trackpad, let me say it one more time, is bloody awful! I will be buying a USB mouse and using that until they come up with a firmware update that can fix this POS trackpad. A guy in Oz actually returned his just because of the trackpad alone, he liked the rest of it! Oh, and the tech support team, at least here in the UK, are dumb as shit.
@aceviewier - If I had to choose one or the other, I would say bad. I watched a film on it last night and it was very hard to get an angle which didn't look either milky or one that looked dark. But let me say this, it's the touchpad that is the worst POS I have ever used.

@NextlvlAsian I bought mine @ Microsoft Store. Just to let you know, its graphic card is having issues with the flash player when I watch lynda.com tutorials on both on firefox & chrome. Youtube works fine. Hopefully, Samsung will fix this bug soon.
Also, the piece of plastic that fits in the card reader slot has become stuck inside the slot twice. I have had to use metal objects to prise it out the first time so now the slot has gouges around it - well done Samsung. There is a lot of plastic on this laptop. I think the whole base is plastic too.
.....this Samsung one is not very sensitive in terms of dragging (slow) but over sensitive in terms of clicking. You have to click the pad to select (fine by me) but it will then select just when your fingers are lightly resting on it. (not only annoying but dangerous). Also, when you press to select, it moves the cursor up so you often select the wrong thing.There does not appear to be a way to change the sensitivity of the trackpad - maybe there is?
I have switched to this Samsung from a MacBook Pro - yes, this new screen is annoyingly reflective despite being 'matte' finish. You have to view it absolutely dead-on or else it looks all cloudy and reflective.
Also, the trackpad is very annoying. I will give it to Apple, they damn well made sure that was working properly before releasing the product.....

@edgartheunready oops, yes I meant the opposite, the 6750m is better for high end games. (@others) the one with the 6490m is the Best Buy version and I purchased it for $999 the other on with the 6750m is around $1249. The cheaper one has less graphics but more RAM and a 1tb hdd

I just purchased the best buy version. It does have a back lit keyboard, express cache (8GB SSD), 8GB of ram, 1TB hard drive, bluetooth plus everything that the one in this video has. The ONLY difference is the graphics card, it is a AMD Radeon 6490m. So it has 512mb GDDR5 instead of 1GB GDDR5, which takes a couple hundred dollars off the price.

@deathbananacake The one with the 6750M can handle almost any game. The most graphics intensive games(Battlefield 3, Metro 2033, Crysis 2, etc) will only work on low or medium settings.

@F1NGER of what I know the B is the best buy version. It has a 1TB HD vs. 750GB, but the graphics card is slightly lower quality (AMD Radeon 6490M vs. 6750M) and there's no back lit keyboard.

why is it that everyone who owns an apple needs to make it known that theres is always 'better'? most of the so called problems you guys are having with it are software based, and your too stupid to setup windows, because ur used to a mac. saving 1500 dollars and getting a slighty downgrade screen, and exactly the same touchpad, literally. samsung used the same part. i think its totally worth it. you can always install osx on it with bootcamp, or use vmware. good review

@omarian0 It is a little sensitive under "C" and "M", thats the only little carry down on the laptop for most people but hey " the space bar wont kill you" and the touch pad is pretty good and very large, you can go into the settings and set two finger tap for right click etc NB. You dont have to click the pad and thats a nice feature on the laptop.. Overall it is a good quality laptop and i would recommend you to buy it.... The laptop is AWSOME

@eplusuful Had the same issue. Here is one way to solve the problem: right click on the video - settings - unckeck "Hardware Acceleration" on the Adobe flash player settings.

On full brightness the screen is OK but the trackpad, let me say it one more time, is bloody awful! I will be buying a USB mouse and using that until they come up with a firmware update that can fix this POS trackpad. A guy in Oz actually returned his just because of the trackpad alone, he liked the rest of it! Oh, and the tech support team, at least here in the UK, are dumb as shit.

@aceviewier - If I had to choose one or the other, I would say bad. I watched a film on it last night and it was very hard to get an angle which didn't look either milky or one that looked dark. But let me say this, it's the touchpad that is the worst POS I have ever used.

both @iEvoss and @MrMicr0phonePro you guy don't seem to understand how business world work. Just like multi-touch smart phone, when Apple first invented it, they "patented" it and will only work for a certain amount of time, then other can use their invention, the same thing goes for the trackpad.
That's what all Japanese companies do, will do ANYTHING to beat out american companies, from AUTOMOBILE to ... the phone.

@NextlvlAsian I bought mine @ Microsoft Store. Just to let you know, its graphic card is having issues with the flash player when I watch lynda.com tutorials on both on firefox & chrome. Youtube works fine. Hopefully, Samsung will fix this bug soon.

Also, the piece of plastic that fits in the card reader slot has become stuck inside the slot twice. I have had to use metal objects to prise it out the first time so now the slot has gouges around it - well done Samsung. There is a lot of plastic on this laptop. I think the whole base is plastic too.

.....this Samsung one is not very sensitive in terms of dragging (slow) but over sensitive in terms of clicking. You have to click the pad to select (fine by me) but it will then select just when your fingers are lightly resting on it. (not only annoying but dangerous). Also, when you press to select, it moves the cursor up so you often select the wrong thing.There does not appear to be a way to change the sensitivity of the trackpad - maybe there is?

I have switched to this Samsung from a MacBook Pro - yes, this new screen is annoyingly reflective despite being 'matte' finish. You have to view it absolutely dead-on or else it looks all cloudy and reflective.
Also, the trackpad is very annoying. I will give it to Apple, they damn well made sure that was working properly before releasing the product.....
