Before the communist party, the manderin in Mainland China is sophisticate , beautiful and vocal. Nowadays, the Marndarin in Mainland China is ugly ,loisy and uneducated. I am a Cantones but I reall love the old mandarin.

Before the communists took over, China virtually had no national defense and European countries, and even India and Japan, came to China and took what they wanted euphonized as "zones of influences". Britain openly imported opium and we lost Hongkong due to resistence. Now China is the rising super power generating over 90% of total global economic growth. Our mandarin is more mixd up due to more interweavings and communication. The sound fine to me!

Corruptions have many forms and meanings but people tend to narrow them down to take money and kickbacks .. China has that; so does Taiwan and elsewhere.We need to educate the general population. Then again, i n US, ceo's can take 70% of the company's profits when 150,000 people work ther tails off, and top atletes can make 10 million in a year. This must be viewed aso as corruptions. So, do not manipulated by propaganda against China. They are doing fine !

@albertleung89 I am not sure if your assessment is accurate. I have been to Hong Kong, Taiwan, and mainland many times. Sometimes, I intentionally wondered in the alley. To a foreign eyes, not much different among you three Chinese.  I mean, all are progressing and progressing fast. In three years apart, I couldn't find my way around Kunming.

拜托.50年代香港比美國落後30年的東西, 又何只錄音技術? 但亦有不少地方比香港更落後. 這只不過是 原來啊媽是女人 的重大發現. 人人皆知. 我們所欣賞的是優美歌聲, 旋律, 情懷以及當時的浪漫而不是科技. 我們現在空有超高的錄音技術. 但音樂的水準卻遠不及當年. 可悲!
