It wasnt Aerial cable with messenger. It was cable that was purchased. If you renovate your home you do not remove the drop from the pole, you remove it from the house and then just rehang.

Also- He wasnt a customer.. so.....

i imagine the guy that did that was a telephone guy, ran his own tele drop and just taped it to it on the ground, i've done this with rg6/11 and outdoor cat5e. works great except i prefer to use the strong ty wraps...

I think its funny that TWC fired me for doing the same thing you just did....filmed while up in the air....LOL they said I release proprietary information by showing the house, and that it was a saftey violation to be filming while working. watch your back!

Actually they are getting basic in this area, at that time ( two years ago) they were getting full standard service as well.

Aside from that, we dont need the extra noise in the system. Unauthorized connections should be removed to keep the node as noise free as possible.

should have left it. I did mine right and had it tagged and on for 20 years. With everything digital now who cares who has a tap they arent even getting basic... Well her in michigan. once I moved i had to help the tech run the line! Do i miss those days

I didnt make contact. I was at the tap working for the neighbor behind them. I just cut it back to the tape and termed the ports.

@c0rrupts3ct0r555 I've actually seen a drop electrical taped to that... I was honestly a bit afraid to disconnect it, but I did, and cut it. Then terminated the open ports. Honestly wish we still used the security sleeves. Because some jackass might attempt it again, by using a Radio Shack Splitter for the customer legitimately paying for cable.

If I saw that I would definately leave it!!! Props to somebody willing to get up the pole and do that!!!! Amazing!! I would ask him if I could just hang it a little better for him and if his picture was okay or if I should just run a new one for him!!! Cable tv is like $19/month for basic cable!! This guy probly spent...mmm....$70 for cable and around $40 for tools to put the fittings on!!! And who knows how long it took and he could have gotten hurt!!!! LMAO!!!

It depends on the area, most of the time it is on poles, others are buried or on a pedestal.

They're hooked up for full cable, which would be roughly $60/m, that's $720/year they're stealing from the company. How is it different than walking into Best Buy, stealing a $700 tv and walking out the door?
