For CENTER you WANT your hips like this. If you're hips are up, how in hell are you going to be able to step out to get the ball, turn the defense or make a backhand!?
I've played center with my hips up before and it's virtually impossible to get control of the ball and the defense.
You'd want your HIPS UP if you're a CENTER DEFENSE.
hey guys he's talking about hol set not d, and u do that to get position, then u step out and shoot, i play that position as well, and usually the hol d tries to push my hips out because its not as powerful, as a hol set u want a strong base and u get ur shoulders high.
I play that position and have to say: do not sit like that, many players will grab your suit and steal the ball if you sit like that. You want to be more on an angel so they cant reach your suit and if they go for the ball they will have to go over you and they get an ejection.

your right especially if your on defense like if u dont have ur hips up while gaurding the whole set then dats it ur screwed up the ass its like a twig on the sets back no matter how big u are cause he can spin u in any direction he wants so basically he controls what goes on
this is so wrong, you should take counter force position so the defender wouldn't easily drag you front...it's stupid about this video, it's pure physics

never stand vertical....always be in a horizontal position....much faster / stronger and more balanced..
