If you had the older megadrive, you could get stereo sound out of the back...

@kraln 1) you can get stereo out from any mega drive 2) we have three mega drive 1s! 3) unfortunately, the sound card that we were using only had 8 analog inputs - so I guess that means 8 mono segas or 4 stereo ones.. :)

@kraln YM2612 and the SN76489. We're using my MIDI interface, which supports both chips. So the Laptops are sending 40 channels of MIDI data each to the SEGAs in real time.

What software do you use?

@zohnny1 Ableton Live with the Launchpad as a control surface. Each laptop is controlling four megadrives (each megadrive is 6 channels of FM and 4 channels of PSG = 10 MIDI channels, so each laptop is sending 40 channels of MIDI data).
