  • You have a modest little name.

  • Is that 'yes?'

  • Ok it is funny, but is it too much to ask for a little more?

  • Ana's been a longtime company member, we are so happy for all her success.

  • this video rocks!

  • me liek do want moar!!11

  • That was awesome and funny! You Genius's better keep enlightening us with your videos! You guys are great!

  • MCR NI Q NY,VI IMUIVNJNUC NQMN

  • That was cute :)

  • brilliant! love the drama at the carwash!

  • we're all in this together? how is this strike going to help anyone below the line? will the wga fight for a 10 hour workday? will the wga insist on having the amptp give residuals to iatse as well as themselves? i have no beef with the wga fighting for their livelihood - just don't pretend that you give a damn about anyone other than your own self-interest.

  • With all due respect, Stephen, I think you took away a different message from the video than intended. The video isn't trying to say, "Hey below the line people, we Writers are striking for you." It's coming from the other side -- "Hey Writers, we Actors, Composers, Makeup People and Directors support you in your fight."

  • you are so right!

  • The makeup lady & her poor son... hysterical! Loved that!

  • The Teamsters are having a hard time keeping it together as well...Why, just the other day I stood by some guys stake bed and ate a donut. I felt a little better, but I'll feel even more better when I get the check!

  • Better the words of LA weekly (just one source among others) than mine:

"AMPTP staffers, consultants and members (especially corporate publicity departments) are busily posting comments on WGA-friendly websites and blogs...filling them with hate-filled rants against the WGA leadership, the A-list actors, and the companies who've made WGA side deals. The goal is to turn off readers and drive traffic away and in the process spread pro-AMPTP propaganda....

  • The AMPTP owns most media, hence virtually no strike coverage. The WGA/writers have been using the internet to get the truth out, and there's been overwhelming support.

The AMPTP is now using paid drones to troll pro-strike sites and post anti-WGA propaganda they think people will buy. They're easy to spot:

-All writers are rich and greedy

-The writers are responsible for the strike continuing, people losing jobs/below the line out of work

-All TV sucks anyway, hire new writers, etc.

  • hah

  • Funny shit.

  • omg, somebody get these guys a job already.

  • That was hillarious!

  • lol that was awsome!

  • haha, quality.

  • very nice video

  • lolol.. i like it

  • brilliant! As much as I want you guys back to work, I support you in your efforts completely. Everyone here that is working class needs to get behind this high profile campaign, since this could have major reverberations through the industries and affect our right to organize and fight for liberty.

  • That really made my day. Hilarious.

  • Hilarious! Thanks.

    -ARLC

  • If this strike continues, I've heard that the studios are going to air for the 2008 Fall line-up, the fall line-ups of the 1960's. Get ready for "I Dream of Jeanie" and "Hogan's Heroes" doesn't sound so bad!

  • why are they on strike? can somebody tell me?

    i dont get it :P

  • Watch youtube "Why We Fight" and "Voices of Uncertainty"

  • Mom I don't want to go to school like this!

  • HAHAHAHA, hillarious, I guess the writers just can't help themselves, the must keep creating, thank god for you tube.

  • wow! That's hilarious! OMG! I love you Ana!

  • Brilliant! There should be a writers strike channel which is a youtube partner so they can therefore make money from youtube whilst they're on strike.

  • Writers deserve a lot more respect and gratitude from the industry. They also deserve a bigger slice of the royalties.

  • you twits the average wga member only makes $5000 a year

  • Writing shows isn't a real job? Come on - they have families to support. You don't sympathy for the "losers," but at least give them some respect.

  • LOL,, that was great!!!

  • INT. MY BEDROOM - NIGHT

NERDY WRITER CHICK, in her late twenties, is laying in bed, watching a YOUTUBE VIDEO. She has a cold and looks and feels like shit, but what she has is causing her to LAUGH HYSTERICALLY.

NERDY WRITER CHICK: Holy shit, that was brilliant!

KEYS CLICK as Nerdy begins to comment on the greatness of the video.

    FADE TO BLACK:

    THE END

Holy moly, this is hilarious. The screenwriter was fantastic

  • lol, i love it!

  • haha this video was hilar

WOHOO STRIKERS-> hopefully at some point you guys get what you want

  • In answer to the the comment: Why don't these shows just get some of these younger writers? Unions are malicious. Those crossing the picket line will be black balled from the business due to union control. Unions once has a legitimate function. Now they just protect their own turf, some also threaten with violence. If budding young writers did get hired, they would have to do it in large numbers, breaking the union.

  • Well, I don't like when unions hurt other workers... but through what other means do you think writers can fight for some reasonable control of their product on the internet?

  • the only thing i cant figure out is why this writers strike is even effective. So a bunch of writers in a union got together to strike but there are thousands of younger writers that are not with the union. Why don't these shows just get some of these writers to replace them? It's not like the wirters on strike have fantastic original ideas that no one else has. Originality has ben lacking anyways from television

  • because on day the strike will be over and if you were a scab you would never write again

  • omg who is the narrator

    sounds so familiar

  • The narrator is Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

  • lol

  • Best video!

  • Funny!

  • What I hate most about the strike, is the lack of "the office". Don't really care what side wins or loses...Good video none the less.

  • Hilarious!!!! You rock Erik!

  • Hahaha, oh man, I love writers, they're the BEST!

  • i liked it.. hope they hold out as long as they can..fuck viacom

  • Mikma should be here!

  • wow they only make 100000+ please donate to them, fn bastards should give me money for all the crap reruns that are on, pay for cable or a sat and get them same stuff on months ago.

  • thanks for scerwing up heroes

  • was the writers who wrote this on strike?

  • If all of the hollywood writers would write somthing new and interesting instead of resurecting comic strips and crap like that you might be worth more. Execs might pay you more and we would all win.

  • that first guy was the best. and most literate.

  • its ok

  • pretty funny

  • funny, but if you wanna see cool funny and sci fi check out MY "SCIFI" STAR PEZ SHOW

  • LOL! gơod stuff

  • that was pretty funny

  • This is great stuff, folks. Keep it coming!! SOLIDARITY FOREVER!!!

  • Interesting how we have such a rich nation.

I bet no where else in the world you would even here of this kind of strike. They must have a strike fund set up so they can do this.

  • LiberalshateAmerica points out how unions destroy companies, and I really don't give a rats patootie about companies. These companies that are being "destroyed" are damaging culture and society, so let them rot.

And I don't know what you've been watching LiberalshateAmerica, but Letterman has been re-runs for a while. Letterman had an episode from 2005 with Oprah Winfrey on last night. You're not paying attention.

  • Thank God Cavemans gone

  • if i was a writer and wrote that terrible crap i might kill myself

  • lol

  • no good tv

  • This is hilarious XD

  • lol. funny

  • Genius. Love the keyboard player in the lot.

  • Yeah! Stick it to the man!

  • Liberty through unity.

  • lol.

  • thats messed up, dude. messed up

  • ahahahayhahahah lmfao so funny!!!!

  • funny piece---well written.

  • i don't watch tv, but this makes me not want to watch it ever again. "writers"? muahahahaha pathetic

  • tv has sucked for so long i hope they replace them all

  • i saw anna ortiz was in some movie

  • I know this sounds a bit callous but I think the writers should do what J.K. Rowling did and start writing the next children's blockbuster series. She was poor and unemployed and yet she escaped her dire situation by focusing on something she loved, and that was writing stories for children.

  • silly harry potter fan. People should have the freedom to do what they want, not follow the popular trends.

  • you're right. What we need is more trash TV writers. lol

  • Then she sold out their imaginations to make those movies. Yeah, very uplifting she is.

  • She is uplifting. She got 100's of million of kids to read; which doesn't say much for TV writers.

  • 100's of millions of kids who are not benefiting educationally and won't read anything else. As a writer myself, a college student majoring in Literature and English, Harry Potter isn't too intelligent for reading, despite how thick the books are. I applaud J.K. for reopening books to the world of imagination and adventure, but the fact she cashed in on only Harry Potter books and movies, nothing else, is an insult to writing.

  • I suppose Ernest Hemingway sold out when his book "The Old Man and the Sea" was made into a movie. Steinbeck's novel, " The Grapes of Wrath" must have also sold out when his book was made into a movie. What the hell are you talking about? The people who are selling out are these people walking the picket line writing for trash TV. Rowling wrote her books for her enjoyment. It was the children who wanted her to write more.

  • How dare you compare JK's meaningless shit to Hemingway and Steinbeck masterpieces. Those two great men used their creativly to write several works that approached social issues as well as explore deeper meanings to life. Not a series to make little children happy, they were about reality and adult situations.

How many movies and books about Harry Potter have been made? Merchandiseing, making millions off of toys, T-shirts, video games, props and costumes.

  • Great you see my point. For the very same reason that Hemingway and Steinbeck's novels were made into movies are the very same reason Rowling's books were made into movies. They were popular and they were best sellers. That's all. And Fuck you btw. You overly condescending piece of shit high school English teacher wanna be. Oh I'm sorry you support the Writer's strike who write for trash TV. lol

  • They should be able to write whatever they want, not copy JK's popular trend to please the crowds. JK probably wants to make a spin off TV series to keep the money rolling. There's some trash TV for you. JK is making money off of children while Harry Potter is still hot. She probably can't write anything else. Hemingway and Steinbacks novels were made into movies because some directors wanted to show their vision. Congrats on resorting to unintelligent insults unrelated to the topic.

  • Hey do us all a favor. Do a "Hemingway", go to

Walmart and buy a shotgun and point it to your skull and kill yourself, lol

  • So you've got nothing left to defend JK and Harry Potter? You don't deny anymore that she is a sell out and is taking advantage of children for her own greed? All you have left is to throw insults at me to get me away from the fact J.K. Rowling isn't that great of a writer.

  • I never said Rowling was a "Great" writer. Shakespeare is a "Great" writer everyone else is just good. So you're thinking of becoming a high school English teacher? Congratulations! I suggest you should start writing porn you might have a much more meaningful career.

  • I never said I wanted to become a highschool teacher, or a teacher at all. You imagined that part up while pointlessly insulting me.

Shakespeare was a brilliant, artistic, creative writer along with those who wrote with him in a combined effort. J.K's writing will probably fall out of the popular trend and never stand the time of history like Shakespeares work.

  • Oh! So you are planning on becoming a promising masterbationary writer. Since you avoided mentioning the porn comment; I have to conclude that the failure of not commenting on that thought leaves me to conclude that it is a career you are pursuing. Y'know your writing could possibly end global warming and get you a Nobel Peace prize.

  • Maybe I write erotica? Maybe Sci-fi? Fantasy? Your point? Didn't you say J.K is an upbringing assist for children. She doesn't write trash about sex and swear words like on TV. How odd you keep bringing up sex and swear words to rudely insult me. Writing could end global warming and win a N. Peace. People just chose to pick up books like Potter to forget about the troubles of the world, not to educate themselves. Hemmingway & Steinbeck brought to light such social issues in their writings.

  • Oh, I must add that I have yet to see a seven year old go to the bookstore and stand in line to buy a book by Ernest Hemingway or Steinbeck.

  • Don't discredit the capabilities of a child.

  • You're right and millions of children have decided Rowling is a genius. lol

  • No, millions of children find her work entertaining and a dreamworld to escape the reality. What child wouldn't want to have magical powers?

She is not a genuis. Her sort of work with youth discovering powers and abilities, becoming heroes, has been done, time and time again.

  • Somehow I didn't get this comment emailed to me? Anyway, If you are that smart then you should write about something that has never been written about ever. Perhaps you could start a whole new genre in literature? In the meantime while you ponder over this have a Merry Christmas.

  • I'm already trying my best.

And I don't celebrate Christmas or any of the foolish holidays. PS: I'm sure Christ loves your swear words and insults.

  • lol, Aww but you should it would make you more human.

  • I work in retail. People freaking out because I don't have in stock what they wanted for their kids, swearing and insulting like you did, that's not human. Thats monstrous.

Christ is probably disgusted with what Christmas is, nothing but a huge marketing ploy. The Bible names his birthday nowhere and that special star was actually the devil trying to have Christ killed. It's orgins is a pagan holiday that the Romans celebrated.

  • lol, no wonder you feel the way you do. Egads! retail is worse than picking up trash. Oh and here's a quote you might appreciate, " Under certain circumstances, PROFANITY provides a relief denied even to prayer. I won't tell you who said it you might feel that the author doesn't know what he's talking about. lol

  • Hey! Stop giving monsters a bad name. The correct term would be inhumane. Then again swearing and insulting people is a human condition. Y'know it's people like you who spread bigotry around the world.

  • A human condition? Because the plastic, small, white machine known as the Wii is not in stock, it's give the human every write to insult, swear, and humilate another human?

  • Yes. Greed is akin to every other negative human condition and because of that the customer wants you to tell your boss's, boss's , boss and complain. There are no Wii's because Nintendo believes in maintaining its' bottom line which is manufacture what the market will bear. They don't want to be caught with thousands of Wii's left in the warehouse not sold.

  • Well, if Christ existed I'm certain he would have sworn at the money changers instead of whipping them. lol

  • So now you don't believe in Christ? Yet you celebrate a holiday in his honor? Hey it even has his name in the title. Go read the Bible and you'll see how he reacts when he finds men selling animals for sacrifice in God's temple. Go celebrate your fake, greedy holiday and stop trying to get the last word in.

  • I celebrate the mass marketing appeal which is nothing more than a Hallmark moment, made to look like we really care for each other. After all isn't that what Hallmark wants you to believe. And by the way there is no documentary evidence that Jesus Christ existed. Read Gibbon's book The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire; you'll be impressed.

  • Having costumers yell and fight over lifeless objects that they could live without, doesn't seem like the proper way for us to exist. There is no benefit from it but a momentary happiness on that one day.

Jesus to the Romans was just another extremist criminal. Of course they won't have any documented evidence of him. He didn't live in Rome and I believe the only time he visited was when he was arrested before his death.

  • Sorry, but there is no documented evidence that Jesus existed. In regards to lifeless objects, if you should ever get engaged, please throw the diamond ring in your boyfriend's face. lol

  • Cept the Bible, but you don't want to count that. Again, Jesus wasn't a household name in his time, his actual ministry only lasted a year. It was his followers that made him a househould name.

Trust me, if my boyfriend and I get married, I'm not getting a diamond ring, nor having any wedding ceremony. My mother will be disapointed, but I don't care for all that crap. It's all too pointless and expensive when all I want is to spend my life with someone.

  • Interesting that you should pontificate on your aversion to materialism on a vlog concerned with an appeal for more material wealth? Am I missing something here? or are you just full of it! lol

  • No, I originally commented to what you said about the writers doing what J.K Rowling did to become rich and famous. The writers should be able to write what ever they want, not do what someone else did to become wealthy and famous. I never said they should be on strike to get more money.

  • Yes it is true I said that the writers should do what JK Rowling did and write something appealing. In essence what she did was write what she wanted to. It just so happens that the children enjoyed her books and therefore enabled her to continue writing more. I'm sure Rowling had no idea that any of her stories would be blockbusters in the foggiest of anyone's imagination. I agree they should write what they want, and if someone thinks it is worth anything then they will buy it.

  • Then I was right originally, they can write what they want, not do what JK Rowling did.

Are we done with this now?

  • No I'm not finished. Your insinuation is that JK Rowling wrote the works for capital gain? That is not true. She wrote what she wanted and in the end it became what it has become. Oh and let me explain to you that my daughter is one of her avid fans and she is getting a full scholarship to Northwestern, and is considering going to Harvard. She wasn't a reader prior to JK Rowling.

  • Jk's first book was because she wanted to. The rest was for capital gain, as well as the movies and all the mechadiseing.

That's fantastic thats she's considering going to Harvard,I doubt it has anything to do with JK's writing. It's takes hard work and a lucky amount of money, not reading a bunch of books. I pity you because I thought you were sixteen with your childrish insults and insisting on continueing to fight. I'm shocked you are a full grown adult with a college age'd daughter.

  • Well Harvard doesn't need money. They have a new policy which is if you get in you owe nothing, unless you can afford it. When Rowling's last book came out she stopped everything she was doing to read it the minute it hit the stores. I attribute Rowling for my daughter's success, which is why I defend her no matter what the material gains she may have gotten. I'm sure her agent or whatever was behind her commercial success.

  • You mean, that policy is a Scholarship. Many schools have this special policy known as a Scholarship if you can quilify.

The biggiest misconception in this country is the idea that reading more will make you successful. I've been reading since I was five, writing since I was six, AP student all through highschool with a 3.8 GPA, and here I am, struggling to make ends meet in retail, while taking night classes in college.

  • It's something new that a lot of the Ivy league schools are doing. If you get in, then you get a free ride. The endowments are so enormous that the schools decided that they can afford to give out free tuition to their students that can't afford it.

  • It's not new. There are many schools that have this available, if you quilify. It's called a Scholarship.

  • Ok. She did manage to get 200,000 for Northwestern. She also plays left forward in soccer and track. National and President of French, etc...Just like you she takes AP everything, with a weighted 4.0. Again, she attributes everything to JK Rowling, lol.

  • I don't want to even bother any more. You're a liar, you act less then half your age, and are continueing to make up things to make it seem like JK had something to do with your supposed "daughter" being intelligent & talented. If you do have a daughter, and she is as intelligent & talented as you claim, wouldn't that be her own abilities? Millions of children have read Harry Potter, you don't see those children with high GPA's, flooding Universities.

  • lol, you are a poor wretch. I'm sorry to have met your acquaintance. I think you are really acting silly.

  • You know I was thinking. You should stay in retail it would make you more miserable than you already are? On the other hand, perhaps you should have taken my other advice and go to WalMart and do a "Hemingway"? lol

  • Although I must admit that when she was seven I took her to Widener Library which she fell in love with. I think it was the character Hermione that made her what she is today.

  • Oh and if I didn't tell you before, I hope you have a Merry Christmas!

  • All Harvard is doing is draining your checkbook. Your daughter should seriously consider one of the smaller liberal arts schools. They cost less and use the same teaching materials. Trust me, the Ivy League is not a good place to get education anymore.

  • It has nothing to do with the school but the networking. Some of the greatest people in the world network there. Like they say its sometimes who you know that is important, not so much what you know.

  • Hey just an afterthought. My daughter just got accepted to U. of Florida! She's not sure if she wants to be a gator lol

  • Seriously. Grow up and get on with your life. This ended a month ago.

  • lol, seriously

  • Are you kidding why wouldn't she wanna be a gator.

  • This is supposed to be funny? Thank jebus they're on strike.

  • OMG it sounds just like Salem. so weird.

  • Lol that poor guy at the end

  • doesn't the guys voice sound like salem off of sabrina the teenage witch?

  • If only the Writers strike could go on forever. Or they could get better Writers. Which ever.

  • that was funny!

man I cant wait till this strike is over :(

  • salem the cat!!

  • yeah seriously i really wanna watch new episodes of heroes. And good movies.

  • 2pac feels your pain

  • Good stuff...I hope the strike ends soon...otherwise we will just have to keep watching The Hills...

  • WGA greed is now being challenged by Leno, Conan, and Jimmey Kimmel. Writers are lilly livered weaklings, they'll crumble soon like their role model the Soviet Empire. Muhahaha! Muhahahahaha! Yeah

  • and reality tv continues to grow in popularity.....

  • how did you convnce that women from ugly nbetty to go on utube?

  • Best part: sandwich counter person.

  • As usual a funny video.

  • funny as shit.
