  • Im having some trouble getting POD farm to run through Logic....any advice?..

  • Nice tutorial! The tone reminds me of Disfiguring the Goddess.

  • At 6:15 I disagree. I liked those drums......

  • holy crap I have been using superior drummer forever and have never thought of using that snare

  • 7:04 just automate the master gain on the channel EQ as well. nice video though :)

  • it's pronounced "Gent", like Gentlemen (hence Djentlemen). the D is silent.

  • This is great mate! thank you so much!!!!

  • @chickenluva1 But I have a quick question, I put the exact same settings on my podfarm, and sounds absolutely terrible. Im using logic as well, any help?

  • @chickenluva1 Erm, try some fresh strings, adjust it to see how it sounds with your pickups, double track guitars left and right, just experiment til you get what you like, pm me your email if you want any presets, and I'll send them, thanks for watching!

  • Great video Matt, I am working on putting together a personal studio (at least figuring out what I need) I noticed in your video that you wish you had more computer power. Ive been looking at Macbook Pro's and the Mac Minis, any tips on what you would want for your next computer as far as hard drive, processor type, memory, monitor size..? Keep up with the great tunes!!! Thanks for any insight! Also on my studio list: Logic, Apogee Duet, Superior Drummer, MIDI Keyboard, KRK RP5/8...............

  • @nicheadlee hey mate, I have actually upgraded my rig, I am now using a 27 inch iMac w/ 8gb of RAM and it kicks ass, i can do so much more with it! As for speakers I actually chose yamaha HS80Ms after comparing them to the KRKs for a long time, but your rig sounds super sweet! A 21" imac would do whatever you need, but the screen on the 27" is stunning and great for piano roll! and as for a drum tutorial I will get around to making that ASAP if I can help with anything more drop me a message!.

  • how do u make the notes on drums? do u type in each note in like a "piano roll"? or can u do something else?

  • Hey, to make a guitar sound like it's behind a door or from an old radio like in Icarus Lives!, how is it made? Like where is the EQ lvl at and settings on it?

  • @DeadEyeSprout Lo-fi

  • Im with TheGallery213, im also a user of pod farm. i put in your exact settings you used and i get nothing like yours are you using some kind of cab sim or something? please get back to me id love to have that tone...considering i dont have Metal Shop :')

  • First I jus want to say awesome tutorial! I'm using POD FARM 2 myself, I dialed in your exact settings on the various pedals and amp head and the tone I'm getting is nothing like yours! I don't like to poach other peoples settings but the tone you have is outstanding for heavily detuned guitars. Any ideas as to why my sound is so different to yours?

  • @TheGallery213 hmm try adding a bit of high end on the eq and boosting the mid range, I use a bareknuckle cold sweat pickup, a planet waves cable, make sure you keep a strong yet controlled picking method, look at using lighter strings too, adds more twang. Thanks for liking my tone dude hope this answers your question too @HiiTzJames !

  • i have logic, but not those drum samples. did you upgrade?

  • @JakeBPlaysMusic It's a separate plugin from a company called toontrack, called superior drummer, check it out! well worth buying.

  • @mattholland990 awesome, i just might do that.

  • Seriosly thinking of switching from DFH to Superior,i can feel the snare

all up in my spine haha!

Nice video and keep da tunes coming.

    ROCK!

  • when the part 2 is coming? amazing tutorial keep the greatt work

  • when the part 2 is coming? amazing tutorial keep the grat work

  • how many moneys do i need in order to make tunes like these??? im using like a terrible 4 input interface and guitar rig 3 demo for my guitars and dookie loops 9 for my drums. i need all these programs and what nots youre using. i cant even have a live feed of my guitars while im using the guitar rig 3 cause of the latency. please metal master teach me your ways. please.

  • @aletstelly well that's my old studio setup, so a macbook, logic studio, superior drummer, a line 6 tone port as the interface, all in all i spent about £2000 on this rig.

  • This one goes up to 11.

  • @alexspire I'm from the UK, london in fact. If you don't like, simple, don't watch, no-one is asking you to! It's quite amusing that you use the anonymity of the internet to say something that you clearly would not face to face. I presume it was you who thumbed down, I sincerely hope for your sake you find something better to do with your time - putting people down on youtube for no real reason really cannot be fulfilling.

  • @alexspire

it's a tutorial you idiot. is he supposed to explain how to create a djent tone without using his voice?

  • @alexspire its a tutorial you fool

  • @mattholland990 Ehy, can you send me your djent presets? thanks

  • How do you use superior drummer? Do you have to have a drumset or do you just click the symbals and bass drum and stuff? Lol

  • guitar rig 4 is suck a fuck around for this sound it's fucking annoying i love your tone there is no way guitar rig 4 could get this sound ive spent ages any suggestions man?

  • @guitaristman23 i'm afraid i've never properly used GR4, i'm sure with some processing in DAW as well as within the plugin it could sound nice :) try using a tubescreamer and a tight noise gate, if there's a soldano or peavey model try that, if not all i can suggest is going to line 6!

  • @mattholland990 yer i dunno i keep geting close just don't really get the eq stuff because

there is heaps in guitar rig 4 and don't know where to put the like the number in (HZ) there is a

    bass cuter,highs out,presence boost,presence notch,lows out

means fuck all to me in the djent side of things?

anyway i added you as a friend if you don't mind you stuff is extremely listenble.

    cheers myles

  • i'm glad my accent doesn't annoy :p erm, i'm using logic 8 and the pedalboard plugin is a line 6 thing, you can change time signature on the bar at the top where you do looping, i'm gonna make a better tutorial soon once i get my mics back with decent sound and better visuals, hope this helped, i might make one for an indie rock style track soon, or dubstep, but i'm shit at dubstep.

  • you are the first person whos brittish accent didnt piss me off! :D

but for the content: i really, really like your video. its really good! not my style of music but, hey tastes are different...

one question, do you know about a good way to change time signature and speed and stuff?

and also a question: whats the version of logic? cause mine has a pedalboard plug-in, and the drum programming looks totally different.

  • which cab?

  • @hideki12345 i'm using the one that loads with the solo 100 here with the mic it comes with and 0% room noise.

  • @mattholland990

    cool thanx =)

  • I approve of this!

    Wish I had a mac!
