I have a ZR@ almost just like this one (mine's a '99 5-speed) and I love It. It'll go damn near anywhere. But to tell a jeeper about crawling and torque is just plain ridiculous. The 4.0 six is by far the torquiest gasoline engine ever put in a trail rig. And solid axles will romp the gay IFS in these trucks all day long. I love my truck, but I get showed up by TJ's and XJ Cherokees all the time.

simple solution, learn how to drive. keep talkin bout how crappy ifs is, im yet to see one grenaded on the trail although i know it happens, but i've seen ALOT of busted axles and u-joints though on sfa's. solid axle is better but its FAR from superior...

Well, I know how to drive, which is why I've never blown up a front end. But I've seen a lot of other guys do it, and that's because they try to go places and do things that IFS isn't capable of. Factory solid axles are a bit tougher and more trail capable, but they break too. Soup up some 60s, though, and you'll destroy transmissions, t-cases, driveshafts, frames... everything before your axles break a sweat. Also, better and superior are the same thing.

IFS sucks for climbing and trail use. the only thing it's ok for is street queens and mud boggin. S10/Sonomas are my favorite trucks i've owned a 2wd and a 4wd cost a fortune to lift them and make them decent offroad trucks.
