I get really nostalgic listening to this. My school's choir used to do beautiful pieces like this; but now that our old conductor is gone we have this new young lady who makes such talented voices sing modern crap like pop songs.
The baritones/altos in this piece really stood out to me.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (November 21, Christ the King Sunday), we sang this as our Psalm of the Day. So ends the church year.
just for everyone's information, Nordic Choir puts out new cds on a yearly basis. Ter is actually a brilliant recording of this piece on their 2008 cd "In the Beginning." it's fantastic. Mr. Burzlaff, I am an sophomore at Luther this next year and I absolutely love this piece. It inspires me :)
I was in the choir while this was taped, and listening to it still makes me cry. Paige and Patrick (and all other Nordic kids), I miss you guys! I miss THIS.
I hope this conductor was taught by Dr. Tim Peters, because he was my conductor for my all state chorus when i was a senior, and if he is anything like Dr. Peters, he will rock. I hum this song all the time while at work! It is absolutley gorgeous!! Awsome job...keep composing!!!
Still... even more than a year later when I go back to listen to this... I remember it as the song that brought Nordic back to making music after we had such a rough patch.
I was captivated by this from the opening right through to the wonderful ending. Beautiful sound....a very moving work. Congratulations to the composer. I look forward to perhaps performing with my choir one day. Beautiful.
Kudos to Patrick! Beautiful. Nordic Choir Will Shine forever & the New Conductor - Successor of our retired Beloved Weston H.Noble, Dr.Craig Arnold, is praiseworthy for his superb work,....-W.N.A.C. - Penny
Wow... that Was amazing. our teacher had us check these guys out to hear what a Awesome Choir sounds like... & he was Right! the Nordic Choir has Great technique!
Look at that high compliment from citrixman. Wow. This piece is beautiful and I'm proud of Patrick for his work on it. I can't wait to hear it again in next year's Nordic!
This is a great piece! I love the sound of the Nordic Choir! I wish you guys would come sing with us in our MN big sing! Having Gustavus, Olaf, Concordia, and Luther sharing a stage would be phenomenal!
@amspain I was born in Concordia, a city of the Entre Rios province, in Argentina. I was surprised to see the name of my hometown in your comments ... lol !! greetings

I remember hearing this beautiful choir when I was a high school student--when Weston Noble conducted. Still as beautiful as then.

Is there any way of getting in contact with the composer directly? Perhaps you could forward me his information in a private message?

Looks like the NRH! 8p I'm hoping I can compose a choral piece which Nordic Choir would perform for me. With Dr. Arnolds permission of course.

I so miss the wondrous glory of pure, clean choral harmony that I experienced while at Luther. Good on ya, Nordic. Soul-wrenching. -- Nathan '00
