I didn't believe the age thing at first, but 5 seconds of research and I found that these birds can live from about 60-80 years?! Insanity!

@scottalmighty1 Most birds don't reach that age, because many of the people keeping them don't really know about a healthy diet for parrots. Many of them die at an early age due to a diet with much sunflower seed ( too fat) and a lack of vitamins.

I love parrots but I could never have one. I think to have one U really really need to give it as much attention as possible for the rest of its life. Too many people get them and get bored which is sad.

At lest 52 years, and probably even older. Maybe even 72 years old, because we never knew when exactly he was caught in the wild, and how long he was kept in South America before he came to Holland. Last september he died from a stroke, his third in succession. The first he already got in june. Since that time he limped a little bit. But he spent his last years in happiness, and I will always remember him...
