  • WHERE'S MY CIRRUS!!!???

  • Is it still??? O_O

  • Mercedes was Daimler?????

  • @Hotshotmech38 not, Mercedes is Daimler Brand

  • They did indeed fuck Chrysler over but they weren't that shitty of a company with daimler as everyone brought them out to be, they innovated all of our cars, made the Chrysler 300 a blockbuster hit and redesigned many others.

  • Mercedes-Benz invented the car and many inovations. Chrysler would only benefit the image of the brand Mercedes-Benz. Crysler-cars (american cars) are low quality, ugly (design) and have remained technically. All relevant innovations come from german manufacturers (Mercedes, BMW, Audi, VW). German cars are the best cars, because we invented it. So, its not bad, that Chrysler goes down, its only a other non-german Carbrand. Deutsche Autos sind und bleiben die besten!

  • if i watch this 5 years ago i wouldve killed myself knowing that A mercedes benz was a partner ship with CHYRSLER B a dodge ram driving beside a cl o well theres still nothing worse than driving around toen in ANY crashed mercedes any way screw chrysler theyll just go running to mom (gov't) and not screw but care a little less about the big mb theres too much ppl buying them anyway SOLOUTUION HELP JAGUAR THEY LOOK BETTER HAVE THAT SASSY NAME jagggggguaaarrr and are in need of your help.
  • I drove the CLK320 Convertable in this shoot, What a week that was! Unreal drive!

  • im sure walter p. has been rolling in his grave at whats been going on at his beloved company for the past 12 years.

  • The biggest fiasco con auto industry.

  • Chrysler was hurt because they killed off one of their best selling cars, the Neon, repalced with the Caliber, personaly I hate that car but no one wants the Caliber and they keep selling the same car for too long. 10 years on the PT-Loser, 7 years on the 300c, 6 on the Charger, you want to keep people buying and excited for your brand you need to change things up a lil more than once every 10 years! Wake up Chrysler! Oh and lighten up the Challenger (4100lbs), its a fat PIG!

  • Sure, Chrysler had it badly with MB but I have the feeling, in a few years, it's going to wish it was under MB again and not Fiat (Fix It Again, Tony!, if that still applies).

  • lol you people arguing about cars. I watched this cause it was directed by the guy who did independence day and 10000BC

  • @avengful Well, when we at the AMG got information from Daimler AG that we might merge with Chrysler corporation in 1997, we were happy... But after all physical and finantial inspections we found that Chrysler was deep in debts... You know, Cerberus&Co... Better not talking abot money injections, 7 billion dollars and Chrysler still could't stand on it's own... I know almost everything, I had to be on each conference, and for all that circus you can send regards to mr. Shrempp...

  • @avengful Haha kid, you have much to learn... BEFORE you bullsh*t like you just did...

  • it is unfortunate that Americans compare to Mercedes Benz, American cars are crap!! is a sin to say that america is better car. never !!!!!!

  • @aranaepg Mercedes, BMW, Landrover, Jaguar are the lowest in reliability! They may be nice cars but they spend the most time in the shop for repairs have the highest engine failures... The list goes on.

  • @Albee213 I can understand Landrover and Jaguar but MB and BMW? I'm not so sure since I see 'too many' 13 year old ones on the road (at least where I live) and my neighbor has 170K miles in his 2002 E320 (w210) with just routine maintenance. Don't forget MBs are used as taxis with hundreds of thousands of miles in the world and not in the US. The 'unreliability' could just be things that have nothing to do with 'bringing you home', such as heated seats, power rear sunshade, etc.

  • @unknownunknowns Maybe but the same can be said about Ford, I almost bought a Crown Vic and the speedo went to 999,999 and it was back to zero, it had been a Police car and then a Taxi for 900,000 thousand miles all origianl, sure it was a major piece and everything was worn out but it still drove and had a lil kick to the V8.

  • @Albee213 If this is so, then Ford should be WAY ahead of the Japanese, right now, not stuggling to keep itself afloat.

  • @unknownunknowns Yeah, last time I checked Ford was one of the only automanufactures that were not losing money. One year ago GM, Chrysler, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, SAAB, Land Rover and many other companies were struggling to sell cars. GM was only hurting becuase sales of SUV's sank like a rock that thats what they made the most profits on. Ford didnt take any bailout money becuase they have not had the issues so many others have.

  • @Albee213 OK, maybe I should have refer to the past few years when comparing to the Japanese, specifically, Honda and Toyota, not 'right now'.

  • Comment removed

  • Daimler is a terrible company, they sucked Chrysler dry of all funds and then dumped them, which is what they wanted. Now Chrysler has to earn back the trust os all the people who were burned when Daimler was at the helm.

Give them a chance and start buying their product people - they need your support to get back in the game and show those jackasses at Daimler that they should go to hell.

  • Wow, that's cool!

  • Dodge trucks>ford,gm

  • can someone tell me what brands are here? i see chrysler dodge jeep mercedes benz smart...but i cant tell what other brands are here...im using this for a school paper. lol.

  • Freightliner, Western Star, Sterling, Setra.....

  • it turned out to be one company two much risk

  • oh my bad i thought they work now with nissan too.. datz wat i heard

  • acutally its dodge chrsysler nissan

  • @SunnyboyEVOLUTION

I think you meant Dodge Chrysler Jeep? No Nissan....

  • Thank you for the split. I heard Mercedes is going to be built better. The C class and E class are already considered average reliability. When they were with Chrysler, a majority of the mercedes models were below average reliability... About time.

  • Now its Fiat-Chrysler

  • It's the exact same scene from the Independence day, but with cars instead of RV's. Same director. lol

  • nice to hear this again... i was one of the little boys singing this :)

in fact, i sang the little solo-part at the beginning^^

  • @superamerica1981 Daimler AG's profit for 2008 is €1.414 billion.

  • are all the brands??

  • This commercial is directed by ROLAND EMMERICH!!!!

  • ...and sung by the vienna boys choir ;)

  • The company didn't split. One side drove the other side into the ground. With punitive licensing costs for the LX rear suspension (300/Charger/Challenger), to forcing the US end to sell a car that had no connection to anything Chrysler (Crossfire) and stifling innovation within Chrysler, the Daimler goofs got what was coming to them. A bankrupt company. I just hope that Mariochioni and Fiat can fix what's left. I THINK he might.

  • I don't know about any other auto makers, but it would be nice if everybody drove a BMW/Mini!

  • BMW/Mini sales rose the last two months...

  • I think that both Daimler and Chrysler failed to contribute to one another and that's why company split.

  • Oh it was just so ambitious...and such high hope at the time. I do love how cinematic this video is. Kudos to the original production company.

  • Yep, thank goodness it all ended. Mercedes and Dodge do not even belong in the same sentence, much less the same company. This was still a great video to watch, with the Freightliner and the cabover MB truck. Pretty cool.

  • You're right. I don't want to hear about those scumsucking shitheads over at Mercedes ever again.

  • When 1969 came around all the muscle car where fat and had big engines. If you hate American muscle then leave America you un patreotic prick.

  • Shut the hell up. Seriously? You can drive a Merc and be patriotic.

  • @NealPratt

No you can't. Your compatriots will lose their jobs over that. And US car makers are the best anyway.

  • @McVaio

One of the GREAT things about America that has made it the BEST, most GLOBALIZED Economy EVER, is the fact that we CAN Import and Buy German, Japanese, Korean, Italian, English, French Cars. You can keep your muscle, But I'm American and will drive whatever the hell I want.

  • @NealPratt

Of course you have the right to drive whatever car you want. I'm just saying that it's not patriotic imo to buy foreign cars. But I'm buying American cars just because I like them better. There is no European/Asian substitute to a Mercury Grand Marquis or Chrysler 300.

  • @McVaio

The E550 and 550i are the Ultimate Substitutes to a Chrysler 300. And an S550 or 750iL are the perfect substitute for a Marquis. Of course they're more expensive but offer the same basic things, plus all the extras.... in my opinion.

  • @NealPratt

You have clearly never driven a Grand Marquis.

  • @McVaio

Well I've ridden in Towncars and Crown Vics... I assume they are similar to the Marquis seeing they share everything except badges and engine covers, lol.

  • Mercedes 4 Live!!!

  • Glad you said that because Fiat will keep Chrysler alive.

  • what were the brands? (jeep, chrysler, dodge, plymouth, eagle, mercedes, smart and........?

  • freightliner,marcopolo,detroit diesel,etc etc etc

  • pfffft hell no u crazy? u guys have no taste in AMERICAN MUSCLE. u guys are really going to fuck up the charger, and the dodge viper for sure..

  • I think you're a bit dedicated. Lol! American Muscle is Dead. It was great, but now all the "American Muscle" cars are just big fat and awkward cars with big motors. Look how BIG the Charger, Mustang, Vette, and Challenger have gotten!!! CAN YOU SAY FAT!?

  • This is a great commercial

  • Yes!!! It was made by Roland Emmerich 10,000 BC (2008) The Day After Tomorrow (2004) The Patriot (2000)Godzilla (1998) Independence Day (1996) Stargate (1994) Universal Soldier

  • to bad its all coming to an end to gay fiat motors

  • I ONLY buy Daimler Chrysler including a 09 Melbourne Green Town & Country and I love it... Chrysler has never let me down

  • Way too many models.

  • Daimler raped Chrysler. How many other Americans contributed $200,000 to German reunification besides me? Daimler is gone, and I'm waiting for the new Electric vehicles to hit the road.

  • @Spectre8282 Without Daimler, Chrysler would be death. But Daimler wouldn't be death without Chrysler.

  • @Bounzzful Not so mon ami. It was a hostile takeover for Chryslers $15Billion. Germany was hiring Islamic immigrants and their quality went down. The death blow was from Wall Street. They couldn't let Electric vehicles out to the General Public.

  • @Bounzzful Without Mercedes CHRYSLER will be better, as you see now its better than the old Chrysler ... Mercedes failed in these new Generations, having a problem in ENGINE ... they recalled alot of vehicles

  • I would like to see the end of Chrysler. The company can die a slow death.

    FIAT YOU ARE FOOLS!

  • Why do you want Chrysler to die...?

  • Neal, I bought a Chrysler because I wanted to see them suceed and because I had hope for the company. I thought that Mercedes would be a good influence. I purchased a 300 and I feel now that I was wrong. Dealing with Chrysler was a nightmare. They were such a bad contrast from Mercedes. I have two Mercedes now and one broken down 300 a worthles warrantee and a hope to see Chryler go bankrupt and disappear.

  • HELL NO. Mercedes made Chrysler WORSE! The sucked chrysler dry and then dumped them. Now, just as they are trying to get back on their feet, the u.s. has a ression. See, Chrysler was a GREAT car company before mercedes. They had quality and reliablity. They didnt have a lot of money during that time so they had to use old mercedes platforms and parts. And their reliabilty went down. So give Chrysler another chance. Or atleast see how they do with fiat.

  • Will Chrysler could do better with Fiat and by the way Daimler is responsible for killing Plymouth and if it wasn't for this hookup with Daimler, Plymouth would of still been alive. Will the good news is that Chrysler is free of Daimler and now that it is Fiat will keep Chrysler alive.

  • wow. After learning that, I have no respect for Daimler anymore.

  • this entire chrysler bankruptcy is a sham and is as corrupt as anything i've ever seen. the hedge funds are balking at the obama attempts to save the company because they have credit default swaps betting on the company going out of business. and they are winning. the fiat deal won't bring anything to the table except they can float the loans on the international banking market.

this has got to be the most corrupt piece of crap ever. they are still avoiding bankruptcy 70%

  • Actually, it was the other way around, Chrysler was doing great, Mercedes needed them to stay alive.

  • i agree

  • What are all the 12 brands?

  • I miss my Chrysler. :(

  • its become quite evident that mb merged with chrysler to acquire their cash. they had a lot of liquidity back in the late 90s. other than the 300/charger, they contributed little to chrysler. mb did not use any chrysler components whatsoever. they did neglect chrysler towards the end of the partnership (see the inside of a sebring or avenger for proof). the reality that nobody seems to want to believe is that chrysler cash helped finance the powerhouse mb is today, like it or not.

  • Italian technology is the best in the world, I think Chrysler should be lucky to has Fiat as Partner.

  • That might be true, but they also had a lot of problems with build quality in the past.

But overall, I think you're right.

Ferrari - best racing technology. Even Mclaren has to steal technology from them in order to keep up.

Fiat - currently the "greenest" car maker in the world.

  • Yes Fiat had lot of problems with quality in the past, but at the moment they are building very good cars, see the new Fiats 500, Bravo, Punto ... I think americans should be happy, cause Fiat bring work to America.

  • Doesn't this make you cry? They could have easily become the biggest car concern ever and shot down Toyota/GM from the first spots.

Some decisions they made went wrong. Now we know.....*cries*

On the other hand, Mercedes pretty much makes the best cars in the world again and continues improving. I also hope that new partnership between Fiat and Chrysler will save the Chrysler concern. It has long and proud history and doesn't deserve to die.

I just fear what happens when Chinese cars arrive.

  • Mercedes sucked Chrysler for all they were worth, stole their best engineers, stole their money, and neglected Chrysler and put Mercedes first.

Then Mercedes kicked Chrysler to the side of the road with two broken legs.

Fuck Mercedes. Mopar or no car.

  • haha....pretty much....I work for a Dodge dealership....It's the truth

  • Mercedes der älteste Automobilhersteller der Erde. Gott sei Dank seit 2008 ohne die faulen und dummen amerikaner die ohne hin nicht, aber auch gar nichts auf die Reihe bekommen. Heil Mercedes, Heil Setra

  • Gut gesagt! Sch**** Amis! :D

  • I'm glad Chrysler & Daimler split. Now they can get down to business. It's a Canadian company now anyway. Lets hope the quality doesn't suffer with the Fiat merger.

  • why why why did they split in '07

  • Now it belongs to the FIAT empire

  • A partnership is not considered "Belonging"...

  • Chrysler belongs 35% to the Fiat Group but in the future for 55% and this means it will be fully owned by Fiat. Its a matter of time. bye

  • Hopefully Fiat styling will not rub off on the beautiful 300's, Crossfires, Rams, Pacificas, and Challengers.

  • It doesnt change anything, the models remain the same, maybe the quality will be better coz Fiat has made recently considerable progresses. Fiat will do everything to save the group because Fiat need Chrysler to bring Alfa Romeo in the USA.

  • It's funny, because 8 years ago, GM almost completely acquired FIAT concern.

  • Hmm not thats wrong GM acquired only 5 % of Fiat but not of Fiat Group.

  • Thank god they split! Those Chyslers, Dodges, and Jeeps don't deserve to drive around with those Mercedes.

  • I agree, those Mercedes suck.

  • Ok "gforce2002", let me interpret "ianfigures" comment for you. He says the Chrysler vehicles don't deserve to drive with Mercedes... Meaning Mercedes is better...

  • what were the twelve brands?

  • Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, Smart, Mercedes AMG, Freightliner, Mercedes Truck/Busses/Van Group, Mitsubishi Fuso, Thomas Built Buses, Sterling Trucks, Western Star, Orion Bus Industries, Setra. Making Daimler Chrysler the world's largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles.

  • It was a train wreck from the get go Did they not learn from the Time Warner AOL train wreck?

  • Well, Mercedes needed access to American plants and parts distributors. Chrysler needed a big-ass bank account. It just didn't go as well as planned. Chrysler just couldn't pull their own weight and Mercedes got tired of cutting checks...

  • Chrysler made millions, several years after the merger. All that profit flowed to Germany, to retool and update Mercedes facilities, that were losing money. When Chrysler sales slipped, from lack of new models, they sold them off at a huge loss, and blamed Chrysler and the employees.

  • now a merger is happening between LLC and GM so GCM and they are selling jeep to international if your wondering why i know so much for my age of 10 my grand father worked at daimler chrysler for 30 years

  • I retired from Chrysler, 32 years on the assembly line. The last 15 years building Dodge Ram pickups.

  • no way thats so cool

  • Yep. Mercedes screwed Chrysler over big time, & left them out to dry

. I'm glad Daimler/Mercedes didn't completely kill their good name. It wasn't Chrysler's fault. It was all that bald headed german dudes fault. If Chrysler CEO is smart, then they'll rid themselves of the Sprinter series vans, & Mercedes engines in the Freightliners, & get a contract with Cummins instead, just like with the Dodge pickups. Then things will start getting better.

  • I don't know if anyone on Earth should use Dodge as an example for anything but a fledgeling American brand...

  • LOL.

  • Chrysler was doing quite well before the "merger", then management sold out. The rats at Daimler then bled Chrysler dry and blamed Chrysler for pulling them down. What a con. People in this country have no sense of history, where would we be without Chrysler in WW2? Hitler must be enjoying this.

  • You are very right by saying that Chrysler helped America very much in WWII, and I find it ironic they merged with Hitler's Pride and Joy, Mercedes-Benz... That's Odd...

  • It has cost Mercedes Billions of dollars and many years to get their build quality back to the standards of the Daimler-Benz years!

  • Very True! But, they are moving forward with Aesthetic Design, Safety and as always Engine Power, but not always fuel economy. But if you can afford a C63 that doesn't matter.

  • True! Mercedes are the BEST cars you can buy :) They have always been at the forefront and for most of that time their pioneering technology has been super reliable. However from 2000-2002 the reliability took a bit of a holiday as Chrysler kept bleeding the cash. However since 2003, all as been good and proper in Stuttgart! :)

  • Chrysler is shit, they screwed up with the new hybrid buses from Orion

  • dang, i think they were doing ok with mercedes. hopefully they will do even better without mercedes

  • dude... mercedes dumped chrysler, because it was doing so bad...

Chrysler is causing the cerebus group to bleed cash...

  • best vid ever

  • However ya'll sold out the best part... sorry for your loss thanks for my "C"

  • Daimler-Chrysler no more!! Chrysler is back Home to America. Yesssss!!

  • Even though Mercedes helped in glorifying the Chrysler name, I think it will be better for Chrysler in the long run, even though now they are owned by some random company... :-(

  • Chrysler is going to be better and stronger then ever, I can feel it.

  • I love Daimler-Chrysler car´s

  • Mercedes was life support for chrysler.

  • Totally incorrect. Chrysler was doing fine before Daimler. The two companies were vastly different and the Germans failed to adapt to the American Chrysler culture. Welcome back to America, Chrysler!

  • lol, sorry, I just read something about Mercedes supporting chrysler in a car & driver magazine or something

  • That should tell you somthing. You read it in Car and Driver. They don't fact check anything!!!

  • I'll think of that, next time I read an issue. Thanks.

  • Mercedes totally screwed up Chrysler. They implamented their "German" engineering into chrysler and totally screwed up the entire line of Chrysler. The Most notorious problems have been premature transmission failure and falty electronics. Our Diamler Chrylser Concorde has had FOUR transmission's in it since we've owned it. We would get rid of it but we cant afford a decent car right now.

  • Absolutely wrong. Mercedes was the most reliable brand in the world before they merged with Chrysler and started to use their parts. The quality of Mercedes cars went down to average as a result.

  • i didn't know chrysler made freightliner...

  • lol even though freightliner is still a horrible truck.

  • yeah i see more freightliner trucks broken down....or even toasted than any brand of semi

  • dont buy that litle mercedes similar to smart car they dont protect you i seen a guy sliced in half in crash with one of them, by going into rear of truck it went under and ouch gonner id buy something bigger personally but yes great cars nice vid

  • That "Little Mercedes similar to the Smart Car... Is the Smart Car, and it is also very safe.

  • tell that to the man sliced in half, I wouldnt feel safe in a small car after seeing that. ill stick to my chrysler.:-)

  • A car is as safe as any other until somebody drives it badly, or you meet somebody driving badly. If you worried too much about safety, you'd never get out of bed in the morning. I wish car manufacturers were as concerned with the standard of driving on the roads as they are with ABS, ESP, ISOFIX, SPS, air bags, crumple zones, blah, blah, blah. Even with all this junk, which is only there to increase sales, you can still kill somebody if you choose to drive like a moron.

  • Ok, you could get sliced in half strapped down in the back of a Phantom for gosh sakes, we have no idea how bad the wreck was. I'm giving C-Smart the Benefit of the doubt at first...

  • It's a shame they separated...

  • BMW god of machine

  • I personally drive a BMW 3-series, but my heart also belongs to Mercedes-Benz. Also Mercedes makes more powerful, faster, and more exotic cars.

  • wait i have a question why is mercedes bez in this?(sorry for the spelling)

  • Mercedes used to be a partner with Chrysler, who owned Dodge and Jeep.

  • BEST "AMERICAN" CAR COMPANY. Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep...

  • Totallt agree i live in england and drive chrysler grand voyager and absolutely love it best car ive driven luxury powerfull loads of toys like space shuttle definetly the best people carrier ive seen

  • eaegnet, you're dumb. My family has owned two Chryslers. One, a Dodge Grand Caravan, and two, a Chrysler Concorde. Best cars that we have ever owned. And that means something, we owned them both for over 4 years and drove both of them for at least 80000 miles. Not to mention, right now we have an Olds Alero, a Buick LeSabre, and a Saturn SL2. And all three of them are MONEY WHORES! If Cerberus doesn't kill it's Chrysler Division, they'll be the only American car company left before to long.

  • Any Mercedes before and after Chrysler is a good car, Chrysler had little to no influence on Mercedes cars because Daimler bought Chrysler, Daimler had though did change Chrysler's cars.

I buy sell and repair Mercedes, they are all amazing machines over engineered and generally very reliable, never had problems with transmissions in any of my Mercedes. and I've owned over 40. Chryslers are generally still shit, and espcially now that Daimler has sold Chrysler to a Chinese company.

  • SInce when is Cerberus Capital Management a Chinese company? Do some research, Chrysler is back at home now. (Where it belongs.)

  • Still shit? I don't know where people get that. My family has owned 3 Grand Voyagers, 3 Town&Country's, 2 Cirrus's, 1 LeBaron, 1 Sebring, 1 Compass, 1 Acclaim, and 1 Grand Cherokee. Oh, and my grandmother's '89 Acclaim. None of these vehicles have EVER had any problems. I don't trash-talk other car makes based on random gossip, and I suggest that you do the same.

  • i mow lawns because im 14. when you where 14 you probably sat on your ass all the time

  • This shouldn't have happened. I like my car company's alone. (meaning Jaguar having nothing to do with Ford along with Volvo and Land rover, also, Saab needs to leave Gm.)I have nothing against auto brands, I just think they should stay by themselves.

  • R.I.P.

    Snif!

  • Well, so much for that. It's over now.

  • Que bonito les que quedo el comercial, lástima que Chrysler y Mercedes se vayan a separar y créanme, Daimler-Chrysler todavía es buena idea.

It's a very beutiful Commercial, what a pity thah Chrysler & Mercedes got to say good bye and belive me, Daimler-Chrysler still a great idea.

  • The cars and trucks broke down on the highway are numerous and they are always Chrysler, Plymouth, or Dodge. They build crap.

  • your mom and dad build crap

  • No ya shant. Cause Their is no compairison. Toyota beets chrysler any day. Obviouslt outzider, you have never owned a true mercedes. WHy do i always see mercedes with 250K 400K on them with no rust were as The Caravan that we use in our business has barley made it to 200K and it only took 3 transmittions? Also why is Mercedes thinking about dropping Chrysler, is it cause thier cars arn't selling anymore and are crap? probably. H

  • benz equals chrysler lol...all the benz fans who say lexus is a toyota...should i begin comparing the quality of toyota with chrysler? LOLZ

  • Its just a shame Chrysler don't build Plymouths anymore - could have easily been quite a good niche line happening there!

  • Middle eastern company? What company is this supposed to be? Lambo is today a part of Audi AG, forming the luxury segment of Volkswagen. Just look it up on the Internet.

  • Lamborghini was bought by Chrysler back in the 80's. There was a concept Lambo car which looks extremely similar to the 2nd generation Intrepid. Lambo was then bought by a middle eastern company in the early 90's.

  • ya that's why u dont see a jaguar over 10 years old on teh road...

  • Thought Daimler was a Jaguar brand, bought by Jag years ago, still making the best cars, better built and reliable than Merc.

  • There are actually two Daimler brands, one being part of DaimlerChrysler, and the other, the one Jaguar purchased a while back... The name comes from the same guy, but they were two different brands all together. Jaguar and DaimlerChrysler have no affiliatin whatsoever. If you look it up on wikipedia you can read about it... quite interesting. I'm a huge fan of DaimlerChrysler and that's all i'd ever buy, but i do love Jag's, such a fine british automobile. (along with Rolls and Bentley)

  • Ford owned, along with Volvo and Aston Martin - since mid 90s - shame - great heritage lost in sea of parts sharing

  • i am an audi guy, but i love what dc is doing for our love of diesels

  • diesel all the way
