shame its gone, rapids was never any good after about 1997. never got wet lol. Shame it isnt there now, could be a great employment bit for the local area
@MissHolmsey1 You can walk in as someone has kindly removed a fence panel however everything including the original main entrance has been demolished... I went there Tuesday just goneand the only thing standing or as far as i could see was the pier. Still good to go and take a look as the rubble piles you see you can actually make out what building they were.
What a damn shame. I used to love going here every year with my mum. We could never afford Alton Towers but to us this place was just as good. Had a lot of heart, and had some very good rides. I remember once going on the missile about 30 times non stop because we went on a school day and it wasn't very busy. And i will also miss the log flume and rapids, You always went on them, even if the weather was bad and you would be piss wet through all day lol, but still good! R.I.P AA
Zach - I knew Em & Blue in the good ol days! - Was working at the park the day it opened & had the best 8 years of my life there (including meeting me husband). Our own kids loved it too so this is so sad to see. But a fantastic memoir.
I had the misfortune of handling the marketing those last 3 doomed years, but to no avail clearly - the parent co. just wouldn't fund it any longer. Sad pictures. Happy memories! All the best with the Mystic Horsemen.
