A great bit of flying here, in a crosswind and a narrow runway, no margin for error! Would've been be a great pity for this grand bird to come to grief on her final ever! Great foresight of the South Africans to save this SP, as well as a '200 model 747. I wish our country would listen to me and get in behind saving our first jet, a DC-8 of which one remains under threat of scrap. A poignant bit of heritage.
they arent retired... i was at alanta air port like 2 weeks ago and saw like 3 parked in the international flight zone... i only remember only one of the airline it was china airlines. lol plus i went to las vegas in april and saw one for America Airlines (AA) take off and vigin alantic leave its gate so ha they arent retired

You probably saw the 747-800s. The SPs were retired several years ago now.
