@AnrgyLper actually the reason is due to fan outcry that Goku is the hero of the story, this was supposed to lead into Gohan being the new main character but was changed. So he brought Goku back from the dead and revived him as the lead character. If only we could have see a DBZ where the mantle was passed from Father to Son... aw well...

I like Gohan, he is my favourite hero in dbz and if Goku had not been selfish, and if he had continued to train Gohan, he would have been the best warrior! I'm sure about it !
dude... Goku died... how could he have continued to train Gohan? It was up to Gohan to train himself, but he slacked off over the span of 7 years since Goku sacrificed his life to try and stop Cell from self destructing and destroying the world.
Even in the hyperbolic chamber he gave so much time for Gohan

Goku is like the most unselfish person there. LOL Not even saying for the sake of it.. The only other person who'd give that much time to him would probably be Piccolo.
yeah though the whole point was to show Gohan snapping and killing all the Cell Jrs as a prologue to him facing Cell himself, with the last images you see as a "Alright Cell... YOURE NEXT!" feel to it... or at least that was my intention... n.n;;

Because the CN version has been altered for content, hence photoshopped. The original/uncut versions look different.
