  • I had these lil shits in my tank too, but smaller, threadlike, free floating in my tank water. Tried to get rid of them with no success, man. Just said the hell with it and got rid of everything and started a new tank. Once this shit starts in your tank, it's game over.

  • Can someone help me ASAP, I have one crayfish/crrwalfish and one day I came home and saw a bunch of these on it, what are they?? Are they harmful to the crayfish, are they harmful to me? How do I get rid of it???? Help please, EMERGENCY lmao

  • Hey, these little worms can enter your tank through cheap plant bulbs

  • ive got them and im not feeding fish in my tank because i have none. i only fertilise my plants

what could the cause be then?

  • @Verse9Ether I'm not sure, I've never had planted tanks. I got my information from forums. Try searching in a planted tank forum, they might be able to help you better.

  • i have a all red cherry shrimp tank and 2 days ago i seen these started and today i seen worms all on the side of the glass to i put 6 feeder guppys in there and they when nust started eating all the worn best 11 cent i spent in my life i hope they eat all of them

  • wats copper??

  • if you have shrimps in there and snails, i would not use copper.. they would die, too

  • use copper. worked for me theyre all dead

  • shouldn't chlorine kill them

    like before you dechlorinate

  • @AlienFirefox what chlorine in the tap water?does it kill you outright?parasitic worms are tougher than us,thats why they are successful, they are good at what they do

  • @VIKINGODIN

its supposed to kill anything in the water

    including our fish

but yer i get ya point

    cheers

  • @AlienFirefox it depends on the water quality wher u live I suppose,I dont bother putting any tapsafe in my water and my fish are fine, what I had to do was strip the tank, but they come back, they must be in the frozen bloodworm, you could put your fish in another tank and turn the heater upto max for a few days, thatll kill em,get some guppies as they eat them on sight

  • @VIKINGODIN

    i have axolotls lol

    they eat guppies

  • @AlienFirefox I have 3 spanish sharped ribbed newts that eat anything thatll fit in their gob, there ferocious eaters, but I have a south american knife fish that dont take no shit and holds his own and also eats our little enemies the planaria, try a knife fish, not a ghost knife fish tho cos they get pretty big and will bite your axolotls and wont take any notice of the worms

  • @VIKINGODIN

the problem is i cant put any of that shit in with my axies

    as they'll get eaten

one of my axies ate a whole fuckin guppy in one go once

  • @AlienFirefox Lol,one of my newts swallowed a balloon ram whole and that was when he was smaller, hes twice the size now tho and none of the 3 of them ever go for the knife fish or vice versa, may be dangerous for your axy tho as his exterior gills would possibly create alot of interest to a hungry fish, just strip the tank down wash it and scrub all the stuff in hot water, get new gravel,or put axy in some clean water and turn tank heater up to max overnight

  • @VIKINGODIN

yer mayne a cat fish would do the trick maaybe only problem is the axies would eat them and there quite expensive here.

i dont have a heater so it looks like im up for a clean out.

i use sand not gravel also btw

never use gravel with axies they instead to swollow gravel and cant pass it and die a very agonising death.

also plantaria wont hurt the axies will they?

they just make the tank look bad right?

  • @AlienFirefox get a bristle nosed catfish and he will clean alot for you, dont use sand its the worst ever, just use big pebbles or big gravel, there not stupid they wont eat it,its a danger with my newts but has never happened,I have large natural gravel, the planaria should not hurt your axies no,but if your tank is infested which it probaby is strip it,clean water and vacuum bottom more often and dont overfeed axies

  • @VIKINGODIN

thanks for advice on cat fish

    this is sea sand

    thoroughly washed ofcourse

very soft and quite cute seeing little axie foot prints on it

and nah the plantaria isnt that bad

    probably 50 tops

  • @AlienFirefox Thing is thay live in the sand, you could build a planaria trap if you google how,or use this ???.aquaspid.com./Home/shrimp-store/shrimp-products.I would just get a load of new water prepared and just blitz the tank, put filter if any in boiling water and get new substrate

  • @VIKINGODIN

this with sand is though when you clean the tank the sand goes out and you put fresh stuff in

  • I have the same bastards in my tank right now. First I thought they were pieces of dust and I tried to wipe 'em away... But then I realized they were on the inside... And then I saw them move..... Poor axolotls....

  • Hey i have this problem also but the thing is i dont over feed my fish he eats everything i feed theres only one fish in the tank. my friend who passed me this tank told me it had the white pest in the past....so is it cause of that in by anychance ?

  • I had the same thing in my tank when I 1st started off, The girl at the pet store said It comes from overfeeding, And I cured them simply w/ Aquarium Salt, "Careful not to add to much salt, It could change the PH balance in your tank and cause your fish to die..

  • Thank you for this video. I have been searching for an hour trying to find a picture of planaria infestation in an aquarium to help me identify my problem, this is the only picture that comfirmed this is what's in my aquarium.

  • These are Trichoplax adhaerens. They are NOT even worms but placoidea or placoda if you kbow what I mean. Anyone who has seen other numerous videos with planarians (Dugesia) would have no problem finding a diffeerence. I do not understand what can be a reason - to call something with something else's name?

  • All of these comments sound like they have crabs xD Just get slugs that eat these things, like the Velvet sea slug.

  • i know that when you over feed them bad things happen but how do the worms get there in the first place?

  • they are already naturaly in the water

  • I see white worms in my tank. Are they harmful to my fish? How do I get rid of them?

Those white worms are planaria. They are not harmful to your flowerhorn. But you should remove them as soon as you can to prevent them getting into your fish's gills. They're usually a result of over feeding. To get rid of them, do a major water change (like 50%). If that does work, add salt and those will be killed. Another water change with gravel vacuum will expunge those dead worms.

  • i have these worms and little shrimp like things in my tank. I no what the worms are but what is the little shrimp stuff. they swim really fast up and down the tank sides. Are they fry? plz help

  • they only live in reefs, or marine aquariuns?

can I have it in my "sweet water" (idk how to say that in english) aquarium?

  • reef and marine are the same thing. and i think ur sweet water is actually salt water and salt water, reef, and marine are all the same. freshwater is what is being shown in the video.

  • clean all you like, these things are little bastards,i stripped mt tank put everything in boiling water, put tank in boiling water and salt and they still came back and i only feed every few days so its not cos of overfeeding

  • @VIKINGODIN do u feed them frozen blood worms i have the same thing i noticed after feeding them frzn bld wrms on the third day and i only see them when i turn my light on

  • @julieothecoolieo i have since notced and thought the same thing friend, its defo gotta be summat frozen in the bloodworm, definately, ive stripped two huge tanks and they went, fed them the bloodworm frozen and they are back, get some small fish and they eat them, they are mingin tho eh?make me crawl lol

  • damn,,,, i have them too....

  • I believe I accidently discover how to get rid of them. Use Tetra Algae Control. It is safe on fish and plants. Give it a try. It is only less then six dallors.

  • Oh that's what those things are in my tank. They actually help your tank stay free of decomposing matter. They feed on excess bacteria. My tiger barbs normally feast on them...

  • How do you prevent these tank worms! I about to setup my first 55 gallon tank. Help me please.

  • i jus treated my aquarium with 'parasite clear'

and we put everything back in and water change but now there are these thin worm-like 'things' in the water they are smaller then pencil lead, range in length: the biggest one was a 3rd or an inch and climb onto walls: please help they killed my blue crawdad.

  • i had these then i vacumed my gravel really really realy good then these tread like wors came and jus floated around

  • dam i hate them too... i had to tear down my aquarium cuz of them...

  • WORMS LIVES IN MY TANK TOO

  • EVOLUTION. BACTIRCA=GERMS=WORM!

  • I have those too. I put too much food in my tank. :( Time to start cleaning.

  • Eeew! Thanks for sharing, never seen anything like that before!
