(and the second part too would be great!! :D yeah! I love that song!)

  • @Katleenfarine Thanks that's very nice of you. And yes i will be doing the 2nd part soon. Its actually Rachmaninoff theme of paganini 18th variation, which is then Jazzed up after the initial opening. I should have that done in a couple of weeks. A lot of people have asked me for sheet music but honestly, i wouldnt know where to begin. Lots notes. This is all done by ear

  • @Scarentertainmentllc super!!! :D :D

    thanks! :)

  • @Katleenfarine Ok, as requested, the second part is done. You can search my videos for it, or for simplicity, I have a "click" link at the beginning of the song that takes you to the new complete version. Hope you like it!

  • dude for the love of music and all of us who can't figure this out by ear would you upload it again played slower with the camera at a better angle so we can observe both hands and notes....I want to play!!!!

  • do you have the sheet music for this? Great job btw!

  • i just heard this on "come dine with me"

  • Fantastic! I really wish I could find the sheet music for it.

  • @Alienvx it doesnt actually have a name apparently. its credited at the end in the songs as "phil's piano solo" or something like that.

  • That is amazing please say you have the sheet music! I really wanna learn that piece.

  • Love it, would love to know how to play it. I know other youtube video's get more views when they teach how to play it. Wish I could play by ear still learning. I think I have at least a year more to go before I can play like that, good job.

  • I love it!!! Hey, where can I find the sheet music to this song?

  • You rock

  • nice ;]

  • @Alienvx I actually dont know the name but Im sure its in the credits of the film or the soundtrack. I wouldnt change the name on youtube here because most people would probably not search it by name anyway lol

  • well Scarentertainmentllc if you could do a tutorial for it that would make heaps of peoples day and should be pretty easy for you

  • @qwer2122 a lot of people have asked me for the sheet music or a tutorial and I dont know, I think it would take a very very long time to pace this whole piece out. I dont know, I can try for you guys!

  • nice! i just cant figure out the last scale that u do with ur both hands! haha

  • @gustiboogie haha yeah, it's a tough little spot there. The band is playing over him which doesn't help, and the transposition on the keyboard is altered, making the piece sound higher than he is actually playing it. Overall it's a fun little thing to play. I dont have much patience for notation (for the user who commented below) but I can try :-)

  • @Scarentertainmentllc well Scarentertainmentllc if you could do a tutorial for it that would make heaps of peoples day and should be pretty easy for you

  • Hey Man great Job do you reckon you could make some sheet music for this I would and I am sure lots of other people would like you too as well and again great job

  • I've just watched the movie for the XXXth time and came here to see if anyone had recorded this great piece!

    Congratulations!

  • it's amazing...in a film Bill plays his part by two hands, but you played the same part by one o_O thank you big, i'm happy :D

  • thank you very much for the comment, I greatly appreciate it :-)

  • Great job! I've been looking around for sheet music to this, but I guess I'll prob have to go the "by ear" route as well. Can't find it anywhere.

    Love this though.

  • Thanks, very much appreciated :-) Yeah, your going to have to do the "by ear" approach as well because no sheet music exists for this. I of course tried that option first because I knew sitting down with this was going to be a bit annoying lol. But I got it done and Im sure so will you! Thanks again!

  • After listening to this again, I noticed that its in a different key than the original. Sounds a half step or more lower. Why's that?

Anyhow, I just "ripped" the song from the original and slowed the tempo down by over half. You can hear every note! So it should be easy now. Can't imagine just listening to it normal speed trying to figure it out, lol.

  • no, actually what you are hearing, is the keyboard in the film is actually transposed up a 1/2 step or so. Keyboards can do that. You can tell because towards the end of his playing, you can clearly see the artists hands all over the white keys, and key matches the earlier key with this same solo. I am actually playing it in the original key, but I dont have the keyboard to artificially transpose it up a 1/2 step, so you hear it in the original key

  • yeah this one just doesnt seem to exist. I thnk the artist just improvised it and that's why there is no score :-(

  • Fantastic. I've always wanted to learn this but never had the time or the work ethic. Also, you need good finger speed to pull this off. Great job. It's a shame I couldn't find this two days ago on Groundhog's Day.

  • Much appreciated! Im sure you could nail it down if you put your mind to it. yeah, it would have been a nice thing to come across on GHD lol. Thanks again!

  • Pretty good! Definitely considering you did it by ear.

  • thanks very much. It was difficult to try and get all the notes with all the background noise, the other instruments playing and the speed of the piece. Thanks again!

  • Now that's some awesome playing right there! :D

  • Well thank you very much that's very kind of you to say

  • woops, I accidently deleted someone's comment when I meant to reply. Sorry combat! didn't mean to do that!

  • can you send me the music?

  • unfortunately, this all in my "head", as I learned it by "ear" from watching the film, so i don't have an actual "score" otherwise I would GLADLY share the score with anyone who wishes to learn it. It was actually hard to learn because the band and noise of the movie makese it difficult to hear, but I managed to come pretty close I think. I wish I could help more

  • just wow
