  • ive had both- a great hackintosh pc is hard to build, but its the better than the entry level macs. i got a macbook pro 2.2ghz and it work better than any hackintosh i've seen. i would get a hackintosh if your on a budget and a mac if you need one only

  • I think it should be called PCtosh

  • @FsimulatorX personal computer tosh?

  • Does anyone know if this (or any other method) will work with the following setup?

    AMD Phenom II x6

Gigabyte or Asus motherboard (not specified)

  • @ShadowGhostStrikes I read a Forum and it said you can only have Intel-based computers/laptops for a hackitosh, it does not support AMD...

  • @Mac4072

You can. AMD is not as good though. It depends on which hackintosh method you use.

  • @ShadowGhostStrikes

Use some distro. Go to leohazard (dot) com. There is a AMD compatible distro there!

  • You've mentioned Lowyat, i assume we're all Malaysians. I got a question: Can I install Hackintosh to my Asus X42Jr Laptop?

  • nice video, but i have some questions for u.

    1.- can it be wireless?

2.- can it update every time u needed?

3.- can i use intel mother board that supports i7, and 3.2 or higher speeds?

please answer asap. i am trying to get really fast hackintosh for videos.

  • OOH A HACKINTOSH A MAC FOR POOR PEOPLE THAT NEED TO GET A JOB!!!! AND DONT SAY YOU CAN BUILD A HACKINTOSH THAT COSTS MORE THAN A MAC BECAUSE IF YOU FULLY CONFIGURE A MAC PRO ITS LIKE £12,899, PEOPLE THAT BUILD A HACKINTOSH ARE POOR AND CANT AFFORD TO BUY THE REAL THING1

  • i miss distro hackintoshes! its goin all retail. i never had any problems with distros. retail just makes updating a snap. but distros were like soo easy with the included drivers and kexts.

  • @13InchBlackPunisher We still have Hazard for snow leopard so the distros aren't fully gone yet. I currently am running Hazard 10.6.2 (My computer says no to updates. It powers itself off before the update is gone leaving a messed up computer)

    Adam

  • Ouh Low Yat Plaza , your Malaysian , never thought of that :D

    Thanks for opening the knowledge

  • @proplugins No Vasio hard drives and combatibale motherboards are non compatble with Snow lkeopard

  • good job man

  • Hey there guys just ordered my beast hackintosh from macsrpcs.com a friend of mine ordered from them, ran Final Cut HD and this thing screams ordered the ATi 5770 cause I game. They have the latest hardware and they have support for the new 980X 6-Core...they have really great prices too...

  • i bought 1 of these things for making music & iam kicking myself! wut a waste of money always crashes

  • nice , keep going strong

  • 9 people disliked because they wasted their money on a genuine mac

  • @teh1337ubermicro ok, The Mac HW is always about 6 months (or more!) behind the PC. Right now, the top end MBP (macbook pro) has a i7 2.66GHz processor & GeForce GT330M 512mb gfx card. Priced at $2,200. You can get a PC laptop (Sager) top end i7-940XM Extreme 3.3 GHz, with a 1.5GHz gfx card for less than $2,500. WTH Apple!?!?!?

  • dam get someone who can actually speak english. hearing him speak is hurting my ears

  • @nepalihercules Hey bigot! He has a British accent. Ever been to Britain? Indians sound the same too.

  • Who wants to know an extremely helpful fact?

Instead of buying all of this stuff, buy a DELL LATITUDE 110L.

It is 100% compatible with Leopard! All that you need to do is change some of the BIOS settings. If you want to know more, just message me.

  • @Chrisjuchniewicz Why would you be telling people to buy a Dell computer over building their own? That's the worst advice ever.

  • WOW! O.O I feel like building my own PC now! INSANE STUFF! AWESOME!! :)

  • Hi! ..how do i install the drivers for a Geforce 8400 GS on snow leopard???

  • @eldaguinio use NVenabler

  • Layout plazza!!! although I left Malaysia for 5 years to Live in Toronto, Canada I still remember that place!!!

  • wow he has got a big monitor .....

  • cool

  • if you install osx on a partition, can you then delete the windows partition after install so the OSX has the full capacity of the drive?

  • @errorspending After installing OSX, you can't delete the Windows partition. You have to format your partition first using Partition Tools such as 'GParted'. After you do that, install Mac OSX using a Hackintosh OSx86 Distro (Kalyway, iATKOS, iPC, etc..) or Snow Leopard RETAIL DVD. When at the Mac installer, go to Disk Util and Format your hard drive to mac os extended (journaled) and choose GUID in options. Customize your install and proceed with installation. ENJOY!

  • @errorspending If you're going to install Mac OSX Snow Leopard, I recommend you search 'Install Snow Leopard Mac OS X on a PC with iBoot & MultiBeast - Part 1' on youtube. I was gonna give you the link, but I keep getting errors when posting. Sorry!

    Hope this helps! ;)

  • what parts do you guys recommend because i cant find any of the parts he has?

  • with the newer version work with my 5850?

  • is the Intel(R) Mobile 4 Express Chipset Accelerator supported by the lates Patch? please reply..im using an Acer Aspire 4730z laptop

  • I have the same card and will be using a Snow Leopard Hackintosh. There is no driver (commonly known as 'kext' on mac) for this. However, there is a 'kext' that gives you the 1366x768 screen resolution. I know. 1366x768 is a pain in the ass. No good wallpapers.

  • LOL! The Final Cut Pro Software costs more than all of the things you bought combined, and it is just a little disk!!!!!! LOL!

  • u should do a video on installing the os next :)

  • (wallybescotty) He did!

  • (MovieMakingFan99) oh cool i'll have to check it out thx

  • Comment removed

  • It cost money im trying to do this for FREE

  • (MyNameIzWHAT) LOL! Nothing (almost) in this world is free!

  • Thanks it works!

  • Funny guy :) Liked the video

  • but i dont need this hardware for hackintosh?!?

  • @assassin743 easier, but more expensive. I have a windows computer, when I bought it I thougth to use it with Windows Vista. But 2 months ago I installed leopard. I fucking love it! My pc costs 450€. Powerful like a Mac Pro, cheaper than a Mac Mini :)

  • Nice man ;)

But with Leopard you can't install it on a normal low price PC :|

    See ya

  • is this legal?

  • @ajudaaduja Of course it's legal I mean you're only illegally running the mac OS on a DIY computer

  • Show! :-)

  • lol cup of coffe usd2

  • RM2 lar... he forgot to convert to USD.

  • Ajun Peepo! lol

  • great video!!

  • Are these parts out dating or no cause im looking into building a Hackintosh

  • @IrideSkiDoo1 yea they are

  • Dude, fastest build ever! Lol! Now that mobo's and video cards are updated, have you updated your parts list?

  • You my friend are a freaking moron, bilingual look it up in a dictionary.

  • i know, okay, hes malaysian and he probably speaks chinese. it was a joke for fucks sake

  • I installed OSX86 on a normal pc and it works amazingly, everything works

  • because this way is alot cheaper and getting alot more for the money.

  • if you're gonna pay for all those junk to built a hackintosh, why not just buy a macintosh?

  • If you have $3,000 to piss away then do it

  • Because it costs 600 for a sick hackintosh set up vs. an entry level mac for 1400

  • $1100...or $599 depending on what u get

  • @420inthe604 Yeh but if you buy the entry level mac for 1400 then it shows you can afford to, if you build the hackintosh then you are poor or a cheapskate

  • @Collectorsworldbuyer If you can build a stable hackintosh it shows you have some intelligence. Money means nothing, knowledge is power. Wake up

  • @Tarantula604 Yes i totally agree with that, it does show you have some intelligence, but at no point did i say money means anything the most important things in my life are my Partner and our daughter money just makes our lives more comfortable and allows me to be a showoff at times.

  • @Collectorsworldbuyer you implied money equates to social status. If you can't afford to buy a mac then you are poor or a cheapskate. I would argue that you're morals are worse than those who make their own hackintosh. By spending 1400 on a mac, you've supported the work camps which the chinese are forced to live and work in...that is unless they commit suicide.

  • @Tarantula604 Yes i have supported them, that means at least they earned something and won't have to commit suicide now will they?

  • @420inthe604 yeah but a least the real mac is the legal way

  • @tekbloggers What do you think America was all about? It was about freedom and democracy, now the corporations are taking over. We the people create the laws, remember that.

  • @tekbloggers lol, you think it's legal to charge what apple charges?

  • A Mac will cost you more and you have less option to customize your system.

  • Spoken like a true Mac fanboy... who obiviously know nothing about technology!

  • Because Macs aren't customizable. ¬_¬ if one of your hardware breaks, you're fucked.

  • A person like this writing "junk" doesn't understand that all those parts are amazing and has fallen for apple advertising. Silver case, a huge branded logo, sort of like people who wear big ed hardy logos on their clothing or Adidas. They don't even know they become free advertising space. Apple osX in the first place is inefficient in movement and user interaction although, again it is glossy. So is win 7, vista, xp black. If someone taught this person about this stuff, they'd be hooked.

  • hahahaha, you make me laugh. The difference is in 100s if not 1000s.

  • Less expensive doesn't mean junk. In My experience, home built PCs run way better than store bought ones.

  • lmao - sounds like you said orgy

  • if you are building a hackintosh computer, what about the Hard Drive? what do we do then?

  • HAHA everyone uses Asus mobos

  • is

    Q6600 prossesor

    ATI Radeon 2400

and a dell xps 420 motherboard

  • The point of this is to give the MAc some BALLS!

  • Comment removed

  • of the same spec though?

  • maybe a bit better, but i think you better buy a mac, then spend money of two macbooks, im sure youre agree too

  • TWO IBOOKS? you idiot I bet you're organizing your iphoto albums this second?

  • umm no u done dummy.

  • i have a q6700. can i use iDeneb?

  • nVidia..upss xDD

  • where i acan got the iso image download??

  • google thepiratebay. find the torrent u want. use utorrent or bittorent to download the actual iso.

  • llol 8500GT sucks

  • Its not that bad, i could run mirrors edge max settings, bioshock on max, and a bunch of other games with no lag..

Of course now i have a 9800gt, with 1 gb gram and i can now run grand theft auto 4 med on settings. :D

  • osx86 project dot orgy?

  • dot o-r-g; but still lol

  • You are Very Asian!

  • Thanks for the advice.

As for the SSD storage, I don't particularly need that much storage on a netbook, as I would only really use it for surfing and light productivity work.

    16 GB would be fine.

  • I have a Dell studio 15 (1555) laptop arriving at the end of this month, I don't suppose it can run Hackintosh? Does anyone know? Since it uses an ATI video card (4570, 512mb version) i doubt there would be Mac drivers. Would it still be useable?

  • I don't know any specifics, but the first iMac G6 (the aluminum one) ran Leopard with an ATI video card. At the moment you can customize the Mac Pro with an ATI Radeon card. So like I said I don't know anything about specific models, but Leopard has supported ATI in the past.

  • Thanks...There was no Imac G6 though, the PowerPC processors used in Macs ended at G5. I know that some macs use radeon cards, but not the 4570 that i have.

  • Since I got my iMac, I have absolutely fallen in love with Mac OS X.

I'm actually looking to convert a netbook into a Hackintosh in the near future.

  • Boooo.

  • The fact that your using incompatible hardware does not mean the OS sucks. I am a Windows user and by no means an "Apple" fanboy. However I use OSX for work - and I LOVE it. Its amazingly quick OS when its utilized properly. Its native *NIX / BSD arch's also bode well with me. I recomend finding a more compatible osx86 distro for your hardware and trying again. Its really a gorgeous system graphicly when the graphics work correctly :)

  • hardware isnt the issue , it just looks bland and i dont liek the layout , i prefer windw

  • subscribed. :-)

  • where can u find that video card u have in this video....or where did u buy it from?

  • and he has a USB MAC keyboard

  • i need some help my hackentosh says it needs a usb keyboard is there a ver that doesn't need a usb keyboard Please help i am using iATKOS_5i

  • too much processor for this graphic card(this 8500 sucks...sucks for this computer... it needs a 9800 GT or more...)

  • i have the 9600 gso and it did runs fine....untill it blew up

  • Why do you have to wash the motherboard? LoL!

  • will it a mac compatibility mouse and keyboard?

  • I don't really trust PSU's that come with cases. Especially with cheap/generic brands.

Cooler Master tend to have descent ones for cheap. Corsair have very high quality ones, as well as PCP&C

  • I didn't notice a hard drive in your parts list... nor OS X... shall I just assume you have those? ;)

  • i suppose any hard drive would work.

  • Japaneses? Wouldn't the plural be Japani or something?

  • or japanese people

    y'know.. _people_ ?

  • fucking bitch ass racist

  • Dude this guy is insanely smart... I would love to see you do the same things he does

  • you never really answered the legal/illegal question

  • yeah final cut really hurts... nescafe on hand

  • aren't you basically making your own computer

  • hey whats up, excellent tutorial btw. recently i tried the kalyway version and it didnt work with my ethernet and sound everything else worked fine though. i use mcp65 nvidia ethernet any ideas?

  • I know how this'll sound.....but try to take it as a compliment....You have that typical japanesse accent that us in Europe just adore:)))(again,compliment).......also thanks for the vid, real informative, nice initiative on making one.

  • final cut studio 2 costs $1300? HOLY FUCK!!!

  • Do you have to have a Core2Quad processor for this? Do you have to buy a specific motherboard to support AMD or Intel processors?

  • So is final cut pro running smoothly with the set up u have? im looking to build the exact same system for final cut pro studio 2 also.

  • Can You Help Me Out Mate I Cant Get The Internet to work but everything else works great!

i have a Dlink wireless router

  • You might not have the ethernet card drivers installed. im sorry i dont know where to get them

  • At worst, get an approved wireless USB stick dongle, and you're sorted. Not every on-board network card will work.

You could try googling for the kexts you need.

  • do you have to get all the parts? Or Just certain ones?

  • Im running Kalyway on a 680i LT motherboard and i have the Operating system running however i have 2 problems. A) Internet wont connect im using integrated LAN. and B) the only resolution i can use is 1280. However I want to use 1680 x 1050. Any help is greatly appreciated. If anyone is having problems installing feel free to message me I have bypassed A LOT of common 'Unsolved problems' and can help you in that department.

  • Try getting the Ethernet card drivers.

  • Where might i be able to find those?

  • For the video portion, it really depends on whether there are kexts (drivers) available for it. I recommend getting an external card that is on the approved list. Heaps easier that way.

  • Overall, how much does this cost?

  • I believe I did itemize the costs, though the price might have come down somewhat since I did the video.

  • excellent video thebackpackr, do you know where can I buy a P5K Pro Motherboard online?

  • google it

    google is your friend!

  • it realy easy to build a pc

  • hey thanks for the video! It's been about 1000 times more helpful then most of the videos on youtube at the moment. I have to ask... I found some spare computer parts around my house and was wondering if this would run a hackintosh system. This system would be temporary until i could save enough money for some high end parts.

    Intel Celeron CPU

Intel Motherboard (Don't Know what kind got it with my old dell pc)intagrated Graphics + Sound

    Linksys Speedbooster Wireless Card

    800 Mb's of ram

  • give it a shot PM if you have any problems!

  • 800 megs is not enuf for a crappy computer

  • why are you using a macbook pro instead of the hackintosh? is the macbook pro better? whats the performance of the hackintosh like? i thought it would be good with quad core processors.

  • I find it mobile, and that isn't quite replaceable with the Hackintosh. My wife and I do use the Hackintosh to render FCP files and use DVD Studio Pro as it's heaps faster than our MBPs.

Performance-wise, it ROCKS! Just get compatible hardware.

  • how much ram can you put on the motherboard? p.s really professional vid. and the most detailed hackintosh vid iv seen. keep the vids coming!!! :)

  • I put in 4GB, and thanks for the compliments!
