Excellent! See if you can find some of those red batch from the firework store, make it the same way as your earlier blue one, and market them as a military/wilderness smoke signal. :)

I love how ever one fines this funny when it exploded....this smoke boom shouldn't of just barley exploded when kno3 explodes it usually burn any thing I'n a 20 ft radius so there really lucky god was watching them cause it should of been a much bigger explosion

@xxSNOWEMONKEYxx actually the smoke itself isnt (assuming its a saltpeter/sugar mix)... but the dyes used to make them coloured are known to cause kidney/bladder cancer. Also... I have made smoke bombs from scratch that did not light on fire rediculusly like that...and have used them in woods without even burning the stuff its touching, I don't know what went did wrong... but something did....

@kevin898989 did you use the standard 50/30/20 formulation (50% solvent dye/30% Potassium Chlorate/20% Lactose?

@JerryGiesler09 nope, used 3 tablespoons potassium nitrate (60g), 2 tablespoons sugar(30g), 3 tablespoons organic dye (60g), and 1 teaspoon of baking soda (not as important to be precise with this one) to slow the reaction. It's the cheaper alternative mixture, and when mixed propely and in the correct container it shouldnt burn anything around it.
