The only difference is that instead of the money supporting blue-collar american workers in a US assembly plant for toyota/hyundai/etc, it goes to Ford/GM CEO's pretty much directly, with almost no money paid to whoever out-of-country build it and nobody here really sees it. On top of that, the CEO's get massive tax cuts meaning we see almost none of that, even on a federal level. Sad when Hyundai supports us more than our own big 3. Well, big 2 now.

I have a '98 Taurus with 202, 314-ish on it. I don't have 4th gear and I barely have third. My tranny has been that way for at least 3 years...she still runs great. It's had a new alternator put in it along with a billion other things. Almost had it's rear left door ripped off...got a new door. It's loud and obnoxious at times but I love it. I couldn't imagine surrendering her to this kind of fate. Long live the Taurus!!

I hated this car with a passion. This one has more problems than any other car I worked on. I don't mind if the Government destroys this for cash for clunkers. Like no heat, Struts and Shocks coil springs break on regular basis when that happens it slashes the tire in the process. Transmission goes bad under 150,000 mi. The cats go out for no reason. The thing rusts quickly. Radio breaks. The only strong part on this car is the Vulcan 3.0 V6 engine. Their 3.8L engines blows head gaskets.
