getting married in 50 days...thinking of this for my dad and daughter dance...is this a good choice...my dad and I havent been hugely close in my life so all of the other songs that should be appropriate and I want to be appropriate about daddys little girl just dont fit us and this sounds like it fits better
If south park brought you here thats nothing to be proud of...I mean its one of my favorite shows, but really? This is a classic song, and you heard it on south park?
@soundman5150 ~ LOL!! No my dumb ass forgot to mute the video footage in that spot and since its slowed down it sounds exactly like what you said~a truck starting up! He He
Yesterday they fished my friend's body out of an avalanche. I went to the store to grab some juice and this song was playing. No I can NOT handle the changing seasons of my life......
@XanatharEye Allison & Kip on Split? I feel your pain either way. Our friends are gone. There are some songs you just need to hear. How did Stevie write this at 17 years old? Allison, I'm so sorry.
I beleive this came from a set they did at the Trod Nossel Recording Studios in Wallingford Center, CT... I had a copy on cassette way back then, of I believe the compete set they performed, it was fantastic! I loved it, I played it so much I wore the tape out!!! I may still have it somewhere! lol I have seen Stevie do this many different ways live over the years, but I think for me personally this may be the best or second best!!!! Thanks so much for sharing this and all your posts wench! :)
WHEN MY HUSBAND AND I HAD OUR SON THIS SONG WAS PLAYING IN THE ROOM AND I WAS ALSO BORN IN 1975 WHEN IT CAME OUT A PERFECT SONG FOR THE BIRTH OF OUR LITTLE ANGEL ISAIAH♥
Great version of this song. Yes, Stevie was at her best in the 70's with that voice and the range. She still can sing, but I agree she has lost the range. She was and I believe still is one of the best voices ever.
Another great video portraying Stevie's talent in the 70's is her singing Rhiannon live from a rehearsal or something in 1975.
Absolutley love this song...this version gave me such goosebumps! I downloaded a live version if it but not sure from which concert. Stevie goes @ the start "this is for you daddy" and then @ the end chrsitne can be heard talking saying they were gonna put a new twist on a very old song and that john was gonna sing. Just wondering if you knew what show its from or what song they were talking about? thanks!
@sorcha123 ~Hi :) the one you are talking about is The Dance and after Landslide when Christine says this is a new twist on an old song~shes talking about the song Say You Love Me. They added banjo and John singing~lol John NEVER sings. Thanks for commenting and yes this live performance is awesome too. :)
@AtomicDawg713 BTW, if you look for Walter Egan's video for "Girl in a Blue Thunderbird..." or something like that....Stevie's in it, in the car, and sings in it, though another girl is lip-syncing the video. BUT, I didn't know Walter was steel and Stevie was magnet in that song...thanks.
although i love this song played in any key, its the most calming to me in the original key. i'm playing this in a talent show in a couple weeks but i don't know if i should stay with the original key where i can sing well, but move it up a fret or two where i can sing better.
@say3you3wont ~Do this the way it sounds best to you. When the dixie chicks did it they made it "fit" them so to speak. You do the same. I bet you will be wonderful. You chose an awesome song :)
@Wench098 -- Silver Springs is Walter Egan's favorite Stevie written song. Egan being the artist that wrote "Magnet and Steel," which is about Stevie, and recorded the song w/Stevie & Lindsey doing background vocals. Sure you already know this, but others may not.
Awesome...........my favorite live performance of landslide ever..........I bought this bootleg cd at a record show and treat it as gold.........thanks so much for sharing this
It's nice to hear Fleetwood Mac live in their early days. They had a fresh sound here. Stevie's voice has lost some range since the early days, She was at her best in 1975 and this is a good snapshot of that moment in time.
@ls1959 This of course wasn't Fleetwood Mac in the early years because Stevie only joined after their transformation from the Peter Green inspired Fleetwood Mac in the 60's.
I presume you mean the early years of Stevie and Lindsay Buckingham being in the Group. Personally I think Stevie has been a superb singer throughout her career and whilst she may have lost some range her voice today is still incredible and unique. However I agree this is a magical performance.
Yes, 'Landslide', 'Rhiannon', 'Sorcerer' and Lindsey's 'Monday Morning' were all written towards the end of their time as Buckingham Nicks, because all but 'Landslide' were debuted in their 1974 live shows.
Probably the best live performance of Landslide I've heard. Too bad about the backround noise on the recording. Still fantastic though. I'm driving down to Missouri in May to see FMagain for the third time this tour. Can't wait!
Hi~Im 41 and know what you mean ,,I even look at icecream and my thighs expand~lol But I gotta tell ya,Stevie isnt fat at all. I was up pretty close at one of her shows during Crystal Visions tour and she is TINY. I mean so VERY tiny~you would have to see her close to see what I mean. Check out pics of her next to people of average size and you might get the idea. OMG I wrote a book! Thanks for commenting :)
Mahalo Nui Loa~ from the island of Maui. By the way we....we have a party here every year on May 26th with candlelight and many many favorite songs such as this one floating thru the tradewinds. Aloha
