What do you think the reason is that the artist picked a school for the Master of Mischief to want to make disappear as opposed to some other type of building:
a) This game came out during a time when a lot of neighborhood schools were closing
b) The enemy didn't like school when he was a student there so wants to get rid of it for the next generation
It takes place at night in a school. You're all alone. The music is dark. An enemy could appear at any time and make a beeline for you. And they're noisy, which can startle you. On top of that there's a time limit and if you fail the mission, your character is literally erased.
@CallinWire Good to know I wasn't the only one who found this game on the intimidating side. For much the same reasons, heh. Outnumbered did a fair number on my nerves as well, but Midnight Rescue was hands down the worse offender.
Ah, well. I still love it all these years later, and the music as well. Thanks again for these fine uploads.
This song was in The Social Network.

I played the Windows-upgraded version to the bitter end, and seeing Morty get that pie in the face was worth all the trial-and-error.
I've only recently got the joke with the music, in that you're fighting marching paintbrushes instead of brooms.

This game freaked me out as a kid. Let's see why.

I remember beating the game after playing like 500 times, I never played the game again, because it scared the shit outta me.
