@sluipie the Golf 6 R is 0.8 seconds faster to 100 km/h and even 2.5 seconds faster to 200 km/h then it's predecessor so your claim of the mk5 R32 is so wrong

I have an '09 Lancer Ralliart myself, & I have a Twin Clutch system 'similar' to the DSG, It's lightning fasst gear changes, bloody smooth, & I love it.!! Flick a switch to "Sports Mode" & the car changes from quiet & smooth to loud & smooth.!! It even double clutches down the gears with the real revs needed to change down the gears, PLUS, add that the ECU will learn how U drive, it's totally awesome.!!
You would need to remove the reject christmas tree lights from the front. It looks like a boy racer car. No problem with DSG, it is faster than manual transmission no matter how hard the driver tries. Only people with no experience of it give it a bad press. The DSG just has a lot of problems that VW are far too slow to fix in the Golf and the SKODA range as they are the same cars with different badges.
@Senninha1960 GTI's have had problems with the DSG transmissions since the day they hit the showroom, i have a '10 that has had problems in the past.. Not sure what forums you're registered under.
@urbex2007 i drive DSG and so a my bro, and some friends, and non of us had problem with DSG, on VW R32 there was some recall that didnt make any problem, and i got my Gti brand new and now its 70000, vw was first to have this twinclutch

@fahrvergnuugen the few vids and reviews I've seen haven't been optimistic. After seeing that the R20 only comes in auto, it dampened my desire enough. So, I can only hope for a more powerful, possibly awd GIT.

@estyffe There is no automatic option on the R. You have 2 options currently in Europe: 6 speed manual and 6 speed DSG (duel clutch). DSG is not automatic, and you can shift on paddles or via the gearstick.
These are waaaaaaaaaay overpriced

@gvk69 It comes in Manual or DSG, 2 door or 4 door. Go to the german or UK VW website and configure it.
Supposedly VW knows they screwed up by making the MK5 DSG only and are going to offer 2/4 door dsg/manual in the US as a 2012 model.

@estyffe are you serious? ever driven automatic? however, R is available with manual gear shift anyway. but I would recommend you to give DSG a try.
