HI Riley Yes my Mother is still with us. She just turned 84 on New Years Day! You might want to check out my blog for more stories about Mom and our journey with her and her dementia. I can't add the link here as it will reject my message but got to Alzheimers Speaks and you can click on the blog I did a few stories and videos of her since Thanksgiving I think you and your family might find helpful. My Mom has been in her end stages over 3 years now. Good luck and thanks for writing!
Beautiful video and sweet mother... Is your mother still with you? or did she pass? My grandmother has Alzheimers and its breaking our hearts.. she fell and broke her hip back in October and her Azheimers wasnt that bad or progressed, but after she broke her hip, she went down hill, doesnt even speak anymore and sleeps all of the time..I'm wondering if that is a sympton and how long does one live in the late stages of Alzheimers. thanks and GOD BLESS
I work as a Cna in a Skilled Nursing Facility, the specific hall I work on is an Alzheimer unit. When i get out of the police academy I plan on going back and playing and singin for my forgetful old friends :)
My auntie Florence was an Alzheimer's patient, and they never tried music therapy with her. I have had it though, and it is a very powerful tool. Your mother is a beautiful lady. :)
music seems to help alzheimer patients drastically I work in a alzheimers or dementia only home and one of our ladies will only willingly get out of bed if the music is on if the music is not on and you go into her room she tell you to "GO AWAY im not getting up im still tired" and this is after she has been in bed for 15 hours :( but if the music is on she will get up no problem, I love her she is precious! it makes me happy to see caregivers that are this involved!

Why thank you. My Mom is a cutie isn't she? She just turned 83 on jan 1st and still reacts to music. Not near as much, but she still tries.
