Like everyone said, purple drank=phenergan (promethazine) w/codeine. What they probably don't know is that some codeine cough syrup (i.e. Robitussin AC where the AC stands for "and codeine") is LEGAL in some states- but only at certain (usually smaller/non-chain pharmacies). Still, overall Promethazine w/codeine is the easiest way to obtain codeine which makes you "lean". Promethazine too, but that's actually an anti-nausea drug.
