  • i recognize these shoe prints! there made by my shoes!!!

  • This is some incredible time, I think this level is now brought to perfection. Wish I was half as a good shooter as you are. Congrats!

  • Thanks! It does take several tries though. Sometimes the enemy AI will do something entirely random and blow the whole run. This place has mainly only three difficult parts.

    1. Sneaking past watchtower guard without door locking

    2. Shooting everyone in the 2nd garden without dying :)

    3. Run and gunning in the last building while avoiding too much enemy fire

  • I figured out what killed my shooting efforts: the mouse sensitivity was too high. Now that I set it to the minimum I managed to cut my best time to 8:20, but I'll never get any close to this. Perfect planning is what you have here, to the smallest details (like the gas can and the wall). I almost envy you and the two other speedrunner guys.:)

  • I use PS2. From what I have seen PC is better since the mouse seems to direct your camera. That way you do not have to physically turn corners and such. Bigman1968 uses this.

I am happy you envy me but not in the "I'm a jerk" way. I wish I was as good as bigman and travis at times. But there is still a lot of game luck involved. Levels that comes out as good as these will still probably be topped eventually. I am happy for the outcome for the sake of all the time and practice that was involved.

  • Oh, definitely not in the "I'm a jerk way", lol. I just admire the dedication and practice and meticulous work you three are doing, and I'm glad to see the results here:). I don't really get the mouse turning thing, I never used PS. Also, love the introduction with the characters!

  • Thanks man! I wanted to add some more flair to the speed runs by giving them some kind of intro and timed music. Only have 3 done this way so far. Been doing stuff with GOW2 and watching updates on MK vs DC.

  • They were very good, I really love those intros. and, surprise or not, I'm a girl:P

  • My bad. No offense but I had no idea a girl would like a gory game like this. Do you like it for the stealth kill purposes or the storyline? I like it for its potential roots to the old movie called"he Running man". Later.

  • Yeah, I love the stealth elements, and the whole atmosphere, the music, and, of course, the dialogue! Those lines are priceless, I often keep playing just to hear them again. It's a very good game (though I really have tried only a few games) Haven't seen that movie yet but I want to.

  • I liked the stealth to. In an unforgiving environent of kill or be killed. Did you play MH2?

Running man is the future of gore-crazed fans. Society wants the criminals punished in the old school roman coliseum manor. The criminals are given a chance to run and gamble their lives as they are hunted by the heroes (think WWF Superstars) in a huge environment. Kind of like that story called "most dangerous game". Now enter arnold swartchneggar to the mix.

  • must be exciting, I'll watch it if I find it

I haven't played MH2, exactly because I only play on my computer, I don't have a console (except a gameboy). If it comes to a PC, I'll definitely buy it. I only play a few games (this one and the DooM series, and now that Bully is available for PC, I'll probably try it if I have time) and I'm so busy that I couldn't try more games, they're really time consuming. Oh and the most surprising bit: I've never played any of the GTA's.

  • I liked the old school doom but doom 3 looked over-hyped. I thought Bully looked lame but I found out that there were two different "bully" games. I watched about an hours worth on some guy's youtube page. I don't like GTA. If rockstar was only known for GTA I would never try any of their games. My bro bought MH and after I played it I learned of how it was made by the makers of GTA. Later.

  • I'm glad that there are others who love Manhunt but doesn't play GTA for which Rockstar was originally famous. I don't really dare to engage in more games because they'd consume far too much time, I can't afford that. And I get addicted to games pretty soon! I started to play MH to stave off my DooM addiction, and ended up with a new one!

  • Wow. You might be able to help me. I only know of a few other games that girls may like: Spyro for the PS1 and maybe some mario DS games. I'm curious and you might not be able to answer the bulk of this question since I am kind of asking you to speak for all the girls out there but what makes you enjoy a game even when its dark and gory? I know you mentioned the stealth for yourself personally but on the scale of the girls as a whole what would you suggest?

  • Well, I dunno for girls in general, I guess I'm one of the few who likes such games. Funny you mention Mario, I never really enjoyed it, and I only tried to play it a few times. Never heard of Spyro. I always liked more actionfilled games, when you really feel that youre alive and that theyll get you. Maybe made me feel more alive and present. I like adventure games and this one is a masterpiece. It was mentioned to me by another girl who never played it but was interested and made me intrsd too

  • So, to summarize it, the whole atmosphere, you feel that this is for real. Every time I hear that music my blood starts rushing. Wonderful voice acting, and it can really involve you. The dialogue is incredibly great, the characters interesting, and there are lots of possibilities to explore areas slowly with stealth, or experiment with doing them as fast as possible... and the diff. levels are called Fetish and Hardcore, of course I fell in love with it!

  • I see. Doing speed runs will definitely boost your experience. Like having that deadline yet at the same time trying to survive. That combination has given me the biggest rush ever. No other game / combination comes close. Beating a game, winning a fight, finding a secret, etc. They are all good but nothing tops this. What other games to do you like? I have yet to find a good comparison for this title. My guesses for you would be things in the silent hill or resident evil franchises.

  • Oh yes, I'm really interested in those, I've never tried them but I'm sure I will one day, I watched some videos about them. You know, if I play, I want something which really gives me that rush, and sometimes even scares me a bit. Makes me feel that I'm alive, and still able to react to things with my whole being. But I must be careful as games are really addictive, and I'm too busy anyway... but I enjoy the gameplay videos.

  • This might be the longest I have talked with someone other than my MK friends on the boards, hope you don't mind. Where I am from most girls don't even want to talk about video games and that is why I am asking you all these questions. Maybe I should PM you rather than clutter the comments page. :)

  • @4Loki I know this is a reply to a 2 yr old post but it's funny because I have never played the new GTA either. Just the old school, overhead version on the pc. Sad in a way that GTA was so successful, otherwise Manhunt might have enjoyed a few PS3 sequels.

  • Good stuff there. Must watch all of these soon.

One thing I always loved about manhunt was the way you could enter a room and get an instant gunlock on people. You put that to good use I just noticed you have Manhunt 2 videos too. Never even played it. Must watch those first methinks.

  • This is a crazy level (no pun intended). In manhunt 1 you take much more damage from bullets than in MH2. This level can be time consuming so I spent some time looking for ways to do shortcuts. The main two difficult parts are the 6 man gun totting yard and the last building. The programmers want you to take your time. Anti-stealth gameplay comes with a price. Sheer frustration and adrenaline until you get that record time!

  • I like that you were able to get through the door without killing that one guard, the one who holds the gun. I could never do it without them locking it.

  • Thanks. It was one of those strange things that I noticed on my 8:21 run. Problem was I never thoroughly tested until last week. Same with the kamikaze run in the last building. The game does not want you to do that and they aligned the enemies in specific way. A way that is designed to have you shot about 2-3 times and kill you in a heartbeat.
