lol pretty cool little truck man, hey where can i buy parts at? my f150 is like 9 years old and it needs new shocks, body, and a new controller. it has been through hell since i got it lol
I know Nikko sells some spare parts for their stuff. Not sure about other brands. You're probably better off waiting for a similar 1/6th scale truck to come on sale (after christmas sales maybe?) and get a whole new unit.
@froshmasta mines a NIKKO harley davidson F150 1/6 scale. Where can i get at nikko for parts? i need a new controller the most, u know of where i can get one real soon?
Not sure where I got my spare body from them. I built this truck about 6 years ago. Try googling around to see if you can find a contact for their replacement parts department in your country.
I think I said this many messages ago but I'll say it again: the best thing you can do with your 1/14 scale truck is charge the battery and drive it how it is until you can save up to start buying the parts you'll need to build a real r/c truck. Even if you can squeeze a Fireball motor into that thing you're still running two wheel drive with an open differential and about 5lbs of truck. I promise you that it won't push snow and you will be frustrated with it.
Venom fireballs are good cheap motors. I have a 15 turn fireball in my f150 now. I've found that the comm in them tends to be a little rough so you should probably invest in a comm brush or have an experienced RCer near you (local shop maybe?) check the comm smoothness if you notice the motor getting very hot. A cheaply machined (rough) comm tends to eat brushes and arc and burn itself.
@froshmasta I can attest to this. I had to clean the comm in all my fireballs. Its possible I even did the 15 turn in the f150, but only because I had the jig set up that day.
Building a one-of-a-kind creation takes experience and knowledge that I can't just tell to other people. I've been involved in R/C since about 1990 so I have a feel for how different parts work together. There are no simple instructions on how to build your own version of this truck. The best thing you can do is watch the videos I have in the description above and try to apply my process of parts-fitting to your own project. Good luck, make a video when done!
i have a new bright ford f 150 and i made a snow plow out of lisens place its a scale size 1/14 and took it apart and im putting a new motor in it and its from rc planet will it make it stronger it about 15 bucks and its regular battery is a 6 volt and i bought a 7.2 if i put the negative wire to negative and the positive wire to the negative will it work please write back
If you wire a higher voltage battery into your truck it will either have more power or burn out the controller board. I wouldn't recommend trying to get much out of a 1/14th scale toy truck. Use it how it is until you can save up and get something a little bigger and stronger to customize.
I can give you the short answers to those questions: I'm getting the torque from massive gearing - check out my videos in the description to see how I have two transmissions set up.
The traction comes from the weight (nearly 15lbs) and from the locked rear differential.
@froshmasta Also would it help to put in a spool in the rear (don't wanna take apart the front). I wanna use a spool so I can take it in and out. Is this going to help with traction?
The spool would definitely be the way to go. I locked my rear diff with a bunch of tar-like goop and it works awesome. Without the rear locked it would probably just spin all day.

Nice job dude, But you should try taking a servo apart and removing the limiters in it and make a winch out of it so you can raise and lower the plow on comand i did it with my old e-maxx and everyone who seen it loved it.
I've thought about using the winch approach but the setup I'm using lifts the plow enough for me. Someday I might make a winch just for the fun of having a winch on the front bumper of a rig though.
Strictly speaking it is NOT waterproof. The ESC and Receiver are shielded from snow that might be thrown up from the tires but nothing is sealed up against real water.
The plow is operated by a spare servo and the third channel on my TQ3 radio. If you look in my other videos for the one called "R/C scale snow plow lift servo" you can see the servo mounted in the front of the truck chassis and how it operates.
Unfortunately it sounds like you have a 2 channel radio system. Without an extra channel to operate the plow lift you will have to do it by hand or something. Make do with what you have as best you can and save up for some better equipment. I'm using a traxxas tq3 radio system. I got it on ebay for about $60.
I have actually done the whole driveway with this truck where there was light snow. I can do it on one battery charge in about 25 minutes. No it's not a replacement for shoveling, but it sure is a fun toy to play with.
I hate to let you down but The frame is just some aluminum angle that I cut with a hacksaw and used some M3 size bolts and some rivets to hold sections of it together.
Most mechanical parts are used t-maxx bits. Tires are from an HPI savage and the body is off a Nikko toy-grade R/C truck.
Hey the simplest way to do something is always the best i would have probably do the same laser cutting or waterjetting takes to much effort :) good job on your car it does look prretty good
It would appear as though you have already made too many frivolous purchases yourself, as you can no longer afford punctuation. I think I'll learn from your mistake and stick with what I've built instead of buying something.
Truck is a bunch of t-maxx parts, some aluminum, and some ingenuity. It weighs in at about 15lbs and has fulltime 4x4 with independent front suspension and a solid axle in the rear as well as a rear limited slip diff.
Iussally race it... i ment to say i would change my hpi savage because my motor is illegal to race at my local track they let me race it but no ti n the big races... i also have a Revo 3.3 and a losi 8 truggy. and some electrice the stampede by traxxat and a e-maxx
Like the description says the truck is put together out of a bunch of parts. It's a one of a kind. you can't buy it anywhere. If you want to be able to plow properly you need to have an electric setup.
The same goes for rc drifting, you need power down low, as you can't necessarily take advantage of the power band given by engines.
Your T-Maxx should be fine, but it won't plow too well.
