I grew up in Danville, and I can remember seeing those stacks from nearly everywhere, including our backyard. Most members of my family worked in the mills at one point or other. Sad that it's gone
Futhermore, our local grocery store has a cafe with a huge gallon marked "sweet tea" on it . And I dont know what restaurants youve been to in Richmond, but you always get a choice of sweet or unsweet tea here, and everyone I know loves sweet tea in Richmond. We give "Dan vull" a run for its money any day of the week. But Richmond is not above the sweet tea line, which is a made up thing anyway.
The Cracker Barrel in Richmond didn't have sweet tea. The CRACKER BARREL. Out of anyone, you'd think they'd have it. Well with millions of people, it's kind of arrogant to say you'd give Danville a run for its money. What is it, three million? So 3,000,000 against 45,000?
@FancyGapClawhammer What in the world? Ive been to CB many times in Richmond and I ALWAYS get sweet tea. The one in Williamsburg has sweet tea too. Maybe they were out of sweet tea because in Richmond its so popular. Ukrop's grocery store made sweet tea and it was always flying off the shelves. Hardly anyone bought the unsweet tea. Incidently, I was in a restaurant in Georgia where they didnt have sweet tea. So your sweet tea line theory is bunk.
@FancyGapClawhammer You can get plenty of sweet tea in Richmond, so you dont know what the heck you're talking about. And Northern Virginia used to have plenty of sweet tea too. I was raised on it!
Jamestown doesn't have it, Yorktown doesn't have it, Richmond only has it in fast food places. Ruckersville doesn't have it (and that's a small town), Williamsburg doesn't have it. Three of the most known places in Virginia doesn't have it. And they're all above the Sweet Tea Mason Dixon Line.
Yeah, they might of used to have it, but now they don't. Tight Squeeze is the furthest northern place in Virginia that's still southern. They should bring sweet tea back. It's the only thing worth drinkin
@FancyGapClawhammer Just because you go to one place in those towns and order sweet tea and they dont have it, doesnt mean they dont have sweet tea in those places. The sweet tea line is a load of horsepucky. The mason dixon line is now at Fredericksburg, IMO. But the Old South extended as far north as Maryland.
i went to the river walk and noticed the elevator shaft and stairwell are still standing. just goes to prove that the elevator shaft is the toughest part of any building. makes sense dont it? :/
