You said none of the top players but doesnt Timo Boll kinda do it? He doesnt have it quite penhold but he places his fingers on the backhand and his thumb kinda around the handle and then switches to a normal shakehand grip after striking the ball. But I guess it would be difficult with a full penhold grip:P
@DrinkMoxie9000 It's not a penhold grip but a modified shakehand grip similar to the one Alois explained in the video. It really gives you the movement to get a decent wrist action on your serve with and easy transition back into the shakehand grip.
Haha, I wish! I've thought about it and can switch relatively quick from PH to SH, but definitely not fast enough for match play. You're way is much better of course, nice tip!
