  • really impressive, and u didn't gut out ur vehicle, that's a huge plus rite there.

  • i respect the people that put the time and money in a import to make it this quick but most of them are just stock 4 bangers that cant do above 100 mph and have fart cans on the back of them....but no matter how fast they are i still cant stand that annoying sound support America buy a v8

  • should rename the video.... Get delt wit JDM all day

  • fast fast fast fuck usdm!

  • And still has full interior, did I tell you that you sir are bad fukkin ass, so much respect

  • A civic only sucking 14psi and running (I mean 12's W/E). Man that's slow. LMAO Only kidding! Come on Domestics the "Ricer" is making you look bad. Or is that just you? 7.5 Liter...

  • A civic only sucking 14psi and running 8's. Man that's slow. LMAO Only kidding! Come on Domestics the "Ricer" is making you look bad. Or is that just you? 7.5 Liter...

  • This is most likely the only import I respect, I give you props this car makes my mustang seem slow =/

  • @ummblah123 No its just your Mustang...

  • @tenorulz haha no not quite... if you'd watch the video at hm 33 seconds you will see a cobra, which is higher then my mustang gt, and the cobra gets crushed by this car, so it's not my mustang thank you very much, its the car in the video who im giving props to, so no one asked you retard, do you even have a car...?

  • @ummblah123 You jackass I never said your car was in the video. I was just joking that you said this car made your Stang look slow. Damn man read and get your head outta your ass. Damn domestic drivers...

  • @tenorulz I never said my car was in the video either, I will quote "Damn man read and get your head outta your ass. Damn import drivers..." have a good day. Btw, if you are one of those imports, I was complimenting this car, no need to start dissing mine, your the one that was being a jackass

  • nice fuckin car the camaro was blistering fast ! respect the rides jdm and domestics!!

  • ive seen this vid under 4 diffrent names now -_-

  • fuk u

  • I agree with gsrhatch, dudeman is dumb as shit. It's called a hobby, people do this on purpose. You beat someone with a corvette big fucking deal, your supposed to, no big surprise, it's what you paid 50,000 dollars for. People take cars and build them up how they want to. And yes they are respectable cars because they're built not bought. STFU anyway you obviously don't have a nice car and know nothing about them.

  • @oneshotkill234 your an ignorant piece of shit i hate mother fuckers like you go jump of a bridge and do the racing comunity a favor dumb ass

  • Nice..... Gotta give it to that camaro at the end tho

  • I would take literally EVERY other car that that Civic raced over that buzzy little piece of shit. I don't care if that mother fucker sets the land speed record. It still looks like Paco drives it and and sounds like my goddamn lawnmower. I guess ricers just don't get it.

No matter how fast your Honda is, no matter how much you spend on it, it will never be a respectable and/or a nice car.

  • @oneshotkill324 put you car in your ass that's a respectable action to all people in the world :)

  • @SlipshT No what's respectable is a 4.6L 320 horse V8. Not a 0.1L 250hp 4cyl with 3 ft/lb of torque that revs to 200,000 rpm.

  • @oneshotkill324 No a 320hp 4.6l would have been respectable in say 1979. This is 2010 and we no longer rely on old outdated methods of making power. I know this is hard for you red neck folk to comprehend, but big displacement is not essential to going fast.

  • @zbshogun No, you see the 4.6L 4v is a modern modular DOHC motor, which uses the same technology as Honda's B and K series DOHC motors. However, when you add boost a 4.6L AKA the 03/04 Cobra, you get a lot more power and torque than you would say out of an EK hatch with a B18. Thus there is no replacement for displacement. And while you're at it check out the new 5.0L TiVCT motor in the 2011 Mustang. Ford > Honda, V8 > 4 Cyl.

  • @oneshotkill324 NO. The fact that it has to move almost half a ton (1000lbs) more weight than a hatch or even a teg which means its gonna need all that extra power to move the hunk of scrap. Not to mention that at some point that power is useless without full drag radials and if you're talking a real street car then drag radials are obviously out of the question. Instead you could just build a powerful (350-400whp) honda and blow the doors off nearly any street car and get excellent gas millage.

  • @zbshogun You don't seem yo understand. For 2K in mods you can have a Cobra at 450 whp and 475+ wtq. It would take 4-5K to do that in a Honda safely and reliably. I don't care about gas milage, it's not why I bought a Mustang. And Hondas are fun little cars. I wouldn't mind an Si for a daily driver. That being said, they were never meant to be race cars. Tell me how many Hondas with Honda motors are running 6's, oh thats right none. There are plenty of BB Ford TT's running 6's at 200+ mph.

  • @oneshotkill324 That's because a all Honda motors are also built for economics, besides the F1's. You have to put alot more into them. Take a Domestic motor with Tons more HP and more than double the TQ... Hey come back Civic ! Oh sorry what was I saying. Right now the fastest drag civic is at 8's and still streetable, can't say that for hardly any domestics.

  • @oneshotkill324 fastest honda is a civic with a turbo honda nsx motor , 6 sec...

  • @TheMugenboy That's cute. Check out some top fuel 500ci cars. Those run 4's. Oh what do they use for motors? That's right all aluminum AMERICAN V8's.

  • @oneshotkill324 lol those cars that can barely make a full pass probably only make it down the track 20 % of the time lol , i respect the speed n power of a 4 sec car but all the cars in that range ive seen most of the time winds up in flames or crashes of breaks down most of the time , n costs like 10 grand a pass , n it barely a car again just a feather resting on a motor , i still respect it tho but a 4banger that still has its interior , run 8's n streetable to me is badass !

  • @oneshotkill324 Don't forget about about $20,000+ more!

  • @zbshogun It has more potential. You could squeeze 3,000HP+ out of a Viper but there is no way you are going to get that kinda power out of a 4 cylinder no matter what you do.

  • @dgk990 Doesn't matter, they don't need it.

  • @tenorulz

I know that, but if you were going to turbo a 8, 10, or 12 cylinder engine, then the results are nuts. Look how that TT Camaro tore that civic a new asshole. Even the Vette on 9psi was catching his ass towards the end. He probably did catch him but edited out that part in the video.

  • @dgk990 Kidding right? Have you ever seen 1000HP Hondas? If this had been one it would had ripped that Maro 5 new assholes.

  • @tenorulz true , maro fas as hell but a 100hp power to weight and high revs would kill it , would like too see it against the 880 whp cft s2000 which shits on cars pushing well over 950 hp :)

  • @TheMugenboy 1000hp one*

  • @tenorulz And that's about as much HP as you'll see out of a 4cyl VTEC. As for V8's, V10's, V12's. You can push triple or quadruple The horsepower and Torque.

  • @dgk990 You have never seen the 550 brake CRX then?

  • @dgk990 tony palos gsr pushes ove 1,000hp its a 4 cyl vtec running 8s....

  • @dgk990 tony palos gsr pushes ove 1,000hp its a 4 cyl vtec running 8s....

  • @dgk990 tony palos gsr pushes ove 1,000hp its a 4 cyl vtec running 8s....

  • @dgk990 Oh yet Vette catching up? What vid you watching? He was keeping up, yes. But catching up, no, he was sitting at the same 3 car length (give or take) interval.

  • @dgk990 ur dumb , u expect a semi built 4cyl 2 beat a 1000WHP Maro ? max power the hatch had was 489whp do the math , but thats a fast ass Honda and what vid did u see the vette catching the hatch ? i sure didnt see it in this one and editing out that part ? datz jus a poor excuse vette on a charger got beat thats all just like there are vettes that beat civics geez u guys r funny ...

  • @TheMugenboy

Did I ever say I expected it to win? I am proving that the bigger the motor, the bigger the potential. Seriously, I have respect for this honda because it is fast as hell. As for the vette, I bet $100 if they would have kept racing longer, the vette would have beat down the hatch.

  • @dgk990 ''Look how that TT Camaro tore that civic a new asshole'' . what i meant is that its obvious the maro would win not that i literally think u expect the hatchy 2 win , n ok koolz dude

  • @dgk990 you got to realize most hondas trannys run out of gear around 160mph

  • @oneshotkill324 LMAO 3ft/lb of torque. Are you serious? That would be like saying the car goes 0-60 in... NEVER! Oh yeah a 0.1L car that has 250HP would be 100 times better than ANY Honda, they make engines with 100HP per Liter. No one else does that and can still be called economical!

  • @oneshotkill324 A 320HP V8? What happened to true muscle back in the 60' and 70's and a few later that came out the box with close to 500HP (and sometimes supercharged ;) )?

  • @tenorulz and weighed 5000lbs yea thats impressive

  • this is one of few honda's that i actually have respect for. keep up the good work. great song too.....

  • i think i juss jizzed

  • Mid 12's because his intercooler pipe blew off during the run buddy....Read.

  • Mid twelves on the quarter mile and your smoking Mustangs with nitrouse and ripping on CBR 600's. I call bullshit on this Ricearoni video.

  • intercooler piping blew off and he had to let off the gas.

    this car is no joke.

  • Mid 12s for 450whp?? you gotta be kidding!!

More like mid to low 11s to 10s. This is a Honda not a Ford. CBR600s can run 11s which would then make this video believable.

  • damn ._. for a 1000 hp you kept a good distance for having less than half his hp

  • lol american cars get 4 extra cylinders, the little honda gets a turbo, I say its all fair game.

from a dead stop, civic won't do the same, FWD means less traction during launches.

but kudos has to be given where its deserved....

    that is one intense civic.

  • except you have to BUY the turbo.. you don't have to get the 4 extra cylinders.. and then buy 4 more..

320hp at 5500 rpms from a mustang is better than 210hp at 7000rpms from a honda...tsk tsk tsk..

  • i mean look at the 1k hp maro at the end imagine if you "diy"ed something like that car you not only get respect from everyone, women love sports cars and youd literaly be able to whip most everything on the street not to mention ls1's these days are cheap as hell

  • in any case its good to see someone put their skills to work but come on..you ppl say fuck v8's our cars naturally aspirated if any of you idiots can understand that word can beat your cars running 5-15psi, rebuild something with balls, and as for beating us at our game shit domestics win drifts world wide, the ssc is fastest product car in the world and if a muscle car is tuned right fuck gl at the drag strip

  • shit domestics have taken over the world, gee they must be really shit. yeah its impressive, u guys have cars which can go really fast in a straight. but racing cars aside and stock for stock, comparing in same classes i think that imports still have the edge, still can do sub 5second 0-100kph, 255kph+ top speeds easy, and mint braking and cornering, cheap to fix, easy to get parts, huge variety in egnines (turbo, vtec, vvtli, rotor, v8,v6 4cyl l6, N/A, 1.6l - 4.5 quadcam v8s onwards and etc)

  • no offence man, i love v8s and the sound and performance, but i beleive that u can do way more shit thats acceptable on jdm shit with out it being all riced up. look up ultima gtr. its toyota power baby and itl leave the ssc behind on the track and on acceleration

  • ya i'd like to see that beat the ssc... except it never will.. keep trying though

  • fuck all the muscle shit nothing better than a civic whipping some muscle at its its own fucking style

  • To matfeii:

We have guys running drag radials in the 6's.(Dave Hance, Kevin Fiscus) Yall need slicks to run 11's..

We have full weight guys on a 10.5W tire running mid 6's.(Tim Lynch, I forget the rest) Yall are just getting in the 8's gutted with no tire restrictions.. We got guys running low 6.50's ALL MOTOR. (Greg Anderson, Mike Edwards, Jason Line) Yall are yet to break the 8 sec barrier without a power adder

Which is better, import or domestic?

    you descide..

  • V8s have had performance markets for alot longer then all these hondas. A few years ago breaking 500hp in a honda was amazing. Its becoming a standard now.

Miller just trapped 180 in his EK in SFWD class. Thats hot rod territory. Just give it time...

  • NIce camaro at the end thats real power

  • nice!!!!!

  • nice vid fuck v8.s =)

  • @crxpro1 ur fuking stupid....rice fan boy

  • does anyone know the name of the song in this video?

  • hawthorne heights- dissolve and decay

  • thank you wicked song :P

  • My Gawd this countrie's youth has gone down hill. Why do so many kids actually WANT to see better things from other Countries?

You know why? Because they are WEAK MINDED and like to jump on stupid silly gay FAD's like IMPORTS and RAP music!

Even though we know that BOTH are lame!

Boy you rice boys are a real piece of work (shit)!

  • The Type R came out in the early 90's with the NSX. The Legendary 98 Integra Type R which was the culmination of over 30 years of technology and research in Formula 1 to the street, was a major factor which MADE THAT IMPACT on the market. This so called FAD has been present for over a decade now.

So Honda made a Legend and a Legacy you want to classify that as a fad be my guest. Weak minded are the people who continue to deny the Legend of Type R.

9,000 rpms of annointed VTEC Thunder!

  • No. The "Rice Boy" fad of sticking fart pipes and wings on FWD Civic's has been a relatively NEW thing. Less than 10 years.

10+ years go no one was building up stock economy cars.

I've never hated Supra's, 280Z's, etc in the past. But I'll ALWAYS keep my pride in America first.

I've owned Honda's too. When I lived in Northern AZ they would always fail when I tried to keep the pedal down on them long mountain grades like I could with reliable American cars.

  • Most rice boys don't know what Grand Prix or F1 is until they look up it's history to defend their Ricer-Hood and blasphemous ways against thy sacred American Muscle.

  • The sacred American Muscle has its roots firmly in HI REVVING RACE ENGINES. 70's Trans am racing This has been long forgotten by many.

The blaspehemous ones are thoes who continue to use truck engines in place of race engines.

The Legend of the Type R continues the torch of the Legends.

This torch has passed from American Trans am racing to the land of the rising sun through Formula 1, down to the mighty Type R.

And the Legend of the Race enigne is not lost on them.

  • There you go. You say you're not anti American, then you go on about "the Rising Sun"?

Just when i thought you could be saved!

That's my argument. We are BOTH in the USA. I support my own. There is no WRONG in doing that no matter what I say.

You sound to just be part of the new FAD. Which is to go against the grain and be "Import vs. Domestic".

And what is this TRUCK engine thing?

Trucks do 8 second quart miles. 6,000+ Lbs and all! Is that bad? WTF???

  • Hey, everyone knows its called the land of the rising sun.

Im not part of a FAD, I just like my car and its race heritge.

And Trans AM racing used hi revving race engines because they were limited it 5.0L displacement N/A.

    A 427 at 6k making 500hp is not the same as a 302 @ 8K making 500hp.

The difference is the engineering and the seat of your pants feel.

It is you who I am trying to save.

  • I understand that making an engine breath at higher RPM's will give more power. That is why in aftermarket people changed the intake manifold and cam and used a high stall to get around the lack of torque at the off idle RPM's due to the mods.

But on daily driven production cars a V8 with 300HP is much better than a I4 with 300HP. The power is NOT the same.

And American's like the "throw you into the back seat" feeling of a V8.

BTW. No I4's are geared like standard V8 cars. They would be slow

  • The 350Z 3.5L makes 300chp The Mustang 4.6L V8 makes 300chp.

My Civic makes 230chp and I have no problem walking either one of thoes cars.

Because the car is lighter, because the axle ratio is higher, because the gearing is smaller AND because the Powerband is longer the Hi revving I4 is going to FEEL like a race car, where as the low revving V8 will feel like a tractor puller.

Honda enthusiasts, like the ramping top end hammer. You want torque just add boost. Duh?!

  • YOU actually compared a slow 350Z to a Mustang V8? I think the 350Z is slower than the most basic stock V8 Mustang.

350Z's only run 15's in the 1/4. They were such a disappointment.

You know not all V8's shift at 6k right?

My stock engine in my Dodge Dakota revs to 7k. It doesn't make useful power past 6200 with stock setup.

  • But I experimented with an open intake once and it revved right past7K and slammed into the rev limiter. I just didn't like the reduced off idle grunt and didn't trust my home made cut away plastic intake so i put the stock one back on.

V8's built to race at the track run 8k all of the time. And I'm talking even 30 year old American V8's with only cam springs swapped and some balancing. I don't know why people think only 4 bangers run high RPM's.

  • That is a common misconception that

V8's cant rev high. It is a good idea for racing but the problem with the high revs is the cooling and oiling system for starters. Then the balancing of the engine your crank harmonics will be different.

It is a chore to make a good reliable hi revving race enigne. BUT when you do it right you have such a beauty.

You get a 302 up to 9k cracking off 500hp N/A dropped in to a Fox body THERE is your Race car. I can respect that kind of build.

  • I ran my 302 to 7k all the time with just some used heads I found (I lucked out) high compression the cheap way using flat tops and closed chambers, then with a simple plane intake and holley DP. And a good sized cam. High stall in the C4 auto tranny got it past the lost low end. Then I dropped in a 5 speed manual. I could hold 40 in 2nd gear and stomp the throttle for a quick CHIRP in the tires. It was sweet!

None of my engine was "balanced" It was a Low Buck project that turned into a freak!

  • Nice 302 project.

  • My friend had moved back into his parents house in his mod 20's when he got divorced. He didn't pay rent and free food so he had bought all the makings for a race 360. He had the keith black pistons and internals balanced to 9k or so. I know the damper system was modified. It has Hemi valve springs, etc. He has the entire engine just needing assembling and is supposed to endure 8k RPM's guaranteed. He's got like $5k into it. It's been sitting on a shelf for almost 10 years un touched!!! WTF? :-(

  • As far as the race 360 goes I love that!

I just love the whole engineering feet of trying to get every last Hp out of an enigne

I think the only way we learn how to build enignes better is to push the technology to the limits and see what breaks first.

I guess he just does not realize what he's got there.

  • Who doesn't realize what they got? Do you mean Chris and his 360 powered Dodge Ram?

It runs ok. But the tuning has got away from us a few times. Remember this is an FMU based for extra fuel not a stand alone where we could use a PC to calibrate although that would be cool.

He needs a wide band O2 A/F gauge.

  • Usually we don't hear any detonation until it's too late.

He has a wide open waste gate. If he dumped it back into the exhaust we'd probably hear the detonation before it gets louder than the exhaust through the waste gate outlet.

  • Ever heard of J&S Electronics Safeguard system. This protects your enigne from detonation. Need a knock sensor though.

I use an AEM wide band 02 sensor and an APEXI fuel controller. ON my Sentra.

I am going to have the ECU reprogrammed by Jim wolf when I get the money.

Tuning for turbo can be a bitch.

  • I have read about wiring in an aftermarket one.

It also depends on the engine. Some engine with loud valve train noise in the same frequency can cause false triggers I guess.

On my Saturn the idea is to go as much home made as possible. So far aside form the FMU, which don't do much, I am running axillary injectors off of a home built micro controller reading a 2 bar MAP. It's a TBI system which I guess is rare for anyone to turbo!

  • If you have it all apart it might be a good idea to have a port and polish on the intake manifold AND head. With a 45deg valve job.

The Safeguard is supposed to work with your vehicles existing knock sensor and only retard the timing at the individual cylinder which is knocking. You can also turn down the sensitivity of the JS for cars with noisy top ends.

You may also want to invest in a water alcohol injection unit. This also helps prevent knocking and will allow you to boost more PSI.

  • Remember this is a LOW BUCK project car.

    So machine work is out.

Even if I could put more money into it, it goes against my low buck/DIY theme.

I think I had lots of people following that project (my other account) because it was DIY and not another $5k to $20k turbo build. It was a $300 turbo build and it was FINE at 7 psi until I ran it at 12 PSI and let it detonate.

The car made 85 WHP stock. LOL! I had it nearly doubled. On $300 :-)

  • But this argument is POINTLESS. On the street your typical end user just wants power as soon as they hit the throttle. They don't want to rev it up before it makes good power.

The Acura Integra and the likes with the VTEC were always scrutinized by testers because it's sheer lack of power until it screamed 6k RPM's. Driving at "cruise speeds" those engines are totally below their power band and are dogs. Yet the Rice Boys like them because they feel cool when VTEC kicks in.

  • Not necessarily, like I have been telling you time and time again. Since you get MOST of your torque at 3krpms right off the bat with a Type R it drives very nice and peppy at lower rpms. Then just when every other normal nonVTEC engine has a power drop the Legendary VTEC kicks in for a second powerband. Beyond 6k.

In contrast the first powerband feels peppy the second powerband RIPS!

Rice boy or not it is a nice feeling ripping through the gears on top of 9,000rpms of VTEC thunder.

  • I wouldn't say thunder. 4 bangers sound like SHIT out the exhaust!

When I removed the muffler on my I4 I was so afraid of sounding like every ricer I4 I make fun of.

Luckily the turbo hides the farty sound!

But the bad thing was my boost went from 7PSI to 12 PSI without changing anything. I didn't have any timing retard or enough octane. The added power was awesome. But the detonation was bad and I ruined two pistons. One really bad. It was an experiment and an engine I didn't care about.

  • I tell you the truth, with a custom cat back exhaust AND a hi flow CAT these I4's are not sounding farty at all. They have a full low toned sound less resonation.

The guys you are referring to are running hollowed out cats, with a cherry bomb muffler on a straight pipe.

THAT is your crap fart sound.

My exhaust is low toned at normal RPM's and it Keys up an ROARS when VTEC hits. The Greaddy SP2 cat back exhaust muffles the resonation and gives you a full low tone sound.

  • Well we'll see what it sounds like if we hook up at speed world or something.

I've never heard a I4 sound good. I always think the INTAKE sound is better than the exhaust sound.

    They definitely don't sound like a V8!

My Mustang I built when I was with wife #1 and poor.

Now I just don't get a chance to do it that much because of wife#2 and kids.

  • The late 350Z's should be running 14's

That is strange and impressive that your Dodge Dakota would rev to 7k.

Can you really trust it up that high though?

  • Sure. It's actually a pretty good engine design and I think Dodge fucks up by not tuning it for a little more higher end oomph (I'll regret even saying that to you) and then dropping it in a lighter car. Much comparable to the weight and size of an early 1970's Plymouth Duster.

The engine is built to a tight tolerance. Short piston skirts. Bed Plate main cap design. WIndage tray. Etc. It is SOHC too.

They tuned it for low / mid RPM's since it's in a truck....

  • Oh and you'll LOVE this. Its' rated about 230HP 300 ft Lbs torque. Chevy has a 4.8 V8. It is rated like at 265HP in the same 2003 year range of my truck.

I had a 4.8 chevy work truck. A DOG out of the hole. But at 3K + it tore ass. Or so it felt. It obviously tuned for higher RPM's.

Well some guy that worked at Speedworld talked me into racing him. My 4WD QC Dakota against his 2WD RC Chevy 4.8 and I won by .1 in the 1/4! I expected him to waste me. Mine was actually quicker...

  • At that same track most 350Z's ran 15's. When we got Chris first turbo setup on his 318 we were beating them all.

Our friend has two Dakota's. He got the 4.7 2WD down to mid 12's. Once he got the other Dakota he removed the turbo from the 4.7 Dakota. He used a bypass belt to bypass the power steering and ran a best of 14.3 all motor in an extended cab 5 speed 4.7 Dakota.

That trim runs as quick as 15 stock.

The guy has a turbo 360 R/T Dakota running 10's full interior and tools in the back!

  • Right Im not talking about the Ricer Thing. Im talking about the emergence of the Legend, of Type R and its faithful legacy.

  • What about the faithful legacy of the Corvette, the Mustang, etc? Or how about the NHRA which is still untouchable?

Type-R does have a legacy tho. The Rice Boys like to use the Type-R decals on everything. Even non Honda cars.

Really. It isn't THAT big of a legacy. The fantasy make believe FWD ricer mentality that boomed form the Fast and the Furious movie DWARFS the actual JDM performance market.

Living in AZ you know only 1 out of every 100 cars are the real deal.

  • Yes, the Majestic Mustang and its Master the Mighty Corvette.

The untouchable Corvette which owns Le-Mans racing.

Hark what is that in the distance?!! The Legend of Type R emerges.

NHRA finals for FF powered NA cars

The Civic SI powered by the 2.4L Type R Frankensten!! 9.33 sec quarter Jermey Lookofsky. FASTEST ALL MOTOR FF CAR IN THE WORLD.

The one and true master of the 4 cylinder world has been unleashed on to the world.

And the legend and legacy continues.

  • What would I care about a FWD shit box car?

Seeing a 6,000+ LB huge 4 door American Truck drive to the track. Run as low as 8's. Then tow your broken Honda home for you. THAT is impressive. And it happens.

  • And where are the 4 second imports doing over 300MPH?

    Wanna talk about tuning?

In the NHRA Americans are getting 1,000HP per liter. That's 8,000HP out of a Hemi style PUSHROD V8 running 10k RPM's.

    That's about 40 type-R VTEC's put together.

  • Why are you flaming this guy? You don't see me searching for muscle car videos and inserting my load of crap into every comment I make. I do admit that a lot of Hondas out there are total rice but when you call this rice it's just being blatantly disrespectful.

I can understand how upsetting it is to know that with relatively less money people who are into Japanese cars can beat you people who worked hard to buy you American cars that just don't quite take the cake.

  • I admit you are correct. As far as THIS video goes it's not riced car. This is a BUILT car.

My comments are generally to the rice boys that go around saying that imports beat domestic.

We have to remind them that ANYTHING can be modified.

To tell you the truth. A few of us have bounced back and forth off of a few other "Domestic vs. Import" videos and eventually fell here.

The import lovers should be saying "here's a car built enough to keep up". Not that it beats everything.

  • I actually posted my bombardment of messages on the wrong video too. Meant to do it on the rice boy "pwnviper" video.

  • I happened upon this video just like that.

I lean towards the JDM side only because they're the underdogs. Taking really really slow cars and building them up to be "Godlike" just like the Dodges and Chevys and Fords.

Both sides talk equal amounts of shit though which is why I can't blame any side for starting all this Import/Domestic crap.

    It's all about preference.

  • These rice boys crack me up.

Anything that these guys do to their shit boxes has already been done and better for domestic.

FWD being better or equal to RWD or AWD? Who the fuck thought of that shit? Time to put the crack pipe down buddy.

American's have Variable Valve Timing back as early as the 1940's. Actually using two lobe profiles on the same camshaft. Sound familiar VTEC? They used it in airplanes.

  • GM made a test car with VVT in 1975. Never bothered tp produce it though because the V8's made so much power they didn't need to make them run past 6k RPM's to make more.

4 cylinder SVT Mustangs have been built up to run 9 seconds.

V8 Mustangs can run 7 seconds. And their suspension is still normal enough to drive on the street.

The only 8 second Civic is the one with a Chevy engine in it and converted to RWD.

  • im not trying to say nothing to start some argument. but what "only" 8sec civic? theres more than that out there. the guy who did my motor swap, has a FWD 8sec hatchback still with a honda motor. acura GSR to be ecact. ive seen the times, but im not sure if his numbers are correct. saying hes got like 1000hp and close to the same torque. but thats a full on drag car. nothing else. and didnt steve papadakis, however its spelled, make like 5 or 6sec in a civic RWD though and NSX motor?

  • that too is a full on drag car. i was just wondering the reason to why you said "only".

  • Stock Corvettes ZR1's run 11's and beat the new AWD Nissan GT-R in every which way on a race course.

That INCLUDES cornering and in a straight line there rice boys.

  • This is when you look at the tech specs of each car and see that the Vette has more HP more Torque and weighs less... If I had ZR1 money I'd buy an R32 Skyline build it and whip ZR1s with money to buy food for a month in the end.

  • Like I always say. No matter what you do to some rice rocket, we can always find an AMERICAN built car even better!

    Guaranteed!

  • Thats true. But the same can be said about Japanese and European cars as well... find a muscle car and theres bound to be a foreign car that can beat it.

It's all about personal choice and money... If you have dreams to build a car and the money to do it, you can do anything. This is why I stay neutral, there are lots of USDM vehicles that can beat JDM vehicles and vice versa.

  • Here's the thing that gets me about the Rice Boys.

They are American. None of the Jap crap is really BETTER than American.

They are just on a Fad/Bandwagon kick with the rest of the idiots.

20 years ago when no one in the USA was bragging about Imports it was Ford vs. Chevy, etc. But no one got this stupid and no one made up bullshit fantasy shit to the extent I hear now.

99% of these kids have never even turned a wrench or do any of the "tuning" they brag about.

  • I understand your Patriotism. I'm Jamaican living in Florida and I still represent my country.

Although Japanese cars are mass produced with SOME inferior quality products, you must admit that they have their pluses as well. And... you have to admit that US cars have some flaws.

My idea of something "Rice" is something from any country including this one with 20" rims, pink or lime green paint job, lambo doors, clear tail lights, unnecessary spoilers. And these can be found on ANYTHING...

  • Well no doubt. A good portion of riced cars out here are American too.

V6 Mustangs made to look like V8 models.

    Now THAT pisses me off!

Because those are the Mustang owners who go and race the shit box ricers and lose. Then the owner of the shit box ricer tells his friend's he beat a V8 GT, Cobra etc when it was a 3.8 V6. :-/

We got LOTS of V6 mustangs with the duals added and all that rice crap. It's a bummer.

  • B18???

  • Evo Killer.

  • ehh...you could say evo's are quicker around corners than ek's lol...once that hatch goes around the first corner he's done lol

    quick ass car though

  • wrong cause the ek was build with a good supension setup the evo still will have problem taking it on turns too.

  • evo's got vdc and active yaw control

it was built for cornering man, i was watching top gear n clarkson was talking about the average speed that most supercars enter a specific corner...in this case it was 70, and the evo went in at 100!! lol

its like the car corrects itself, computer sorting everything out for you, all you have to do is point and step lol

thats one for bone stock mitsubishi's lol

    man i love that car...

  • dude your an idiot if you think eks had a good stock suspension compared to an evo lol

  • wuts that red light that flashed when you redline called??

and were can i get one

  • Shift light

  • nice car man but...im a dsm guy and awd always beats FWD lol : )

  • yeah and you also love your shitty dsm bottom ends... keep on crank walkin

  • lol you dumb ass crank walk is over exaggerated. 4g63 block is overall better platform and alot stronger than any other honda block

  • lets see you make an all motor 4g63 fast...oh wait you cant hahah at least with b series you can go turbo or NA and still smoke cars. and awd always beats fwd off the line....but once that good top end starts working then bye bye awd!

  • lol yea ture ture and atleast our tranny last way longer under stress the dsm

  • why would a fwd beat an awd top end man your an idiot. you build your gay ass b series n/a that sounds like a lawn mower and ill smoke your ass in my 96 talon tsi awd with half the cash you dumped into a honda. FWD is for girls and ppl who cant drive...

  • so let me get this straight. since i'm a gurl who drives, that means i can only handle a fwd?? lmao. ok w.e. go play in traffic.

  • Awesome.. Racing with full interior FTW!! Thats exactly my plan too.

  • nice ek bro good job hope i get up there with my eg6 project and i bet it was fun seein that camaro fly it good to know theres fast cars out there keeps you motivated

  • awesome motor mate love ek9s the best, not jdm tho usdm, jdm is only right hand drive soz mate still one of phattest sleeper civic eva sin

  • Quality stuff here. Love the last bit. 1000hp and the scream! lol

    Cheers.

  • Its always the hard headed ones that just dont know the truth.

Research, give it a shot sometime.

DSMERGSX ignorance is not a good excuse, nor the cornerstone for a quality argument.

    Good day.

  • what can i say its Shane...

  • yeah true. So if we are talking the power of motors here then if a civic and eclipse were gutted down to the same weight, the eclipse will be faster with less engine performance modification because the 4g63 is a more performance oriented motor than a b-series. That is one good thing about hondas though, they ARE so light that they dont need as much done to them lol, hence why you ran with high performance cars in this video.

  • The 4g63 is a cut and dry low compression low revving motor with built internals and a turbo.

B series motors are fully built Hi revving race motors. The late 90's Civic weighs 2200 to 2500 lbs. Take the turbo away from your precious 4G63 and then what do you have?

  • actually you do need as much done to them becasue they are lighter cars but they have less motor power to.. it just depends on experience price and knowledge to judge how much you have to do to make a car go as fast as another one

  • The Type R engine is a Gem by itsself and (needs) no further upgrading. The whole point is putting a small displacement RACE engine in a light weight car. With a simple swap and bolt ons 1.8L(all motor) your fast as most Sports cars on the road 13's Its when you want a 12 second all motor Civic that you swap the cam. A cam swap and bolt-ons are pretty light upgrades compaired to Boosting your car to make the same time. Type R less is more, and more is a WHOLE LOT MORE!

  • by the way, throw a turbo on Jermery Lookofsky's civic and that will probobly take off the 3 seconds he needs to make it to John Shepperd's Eagle Talon right at 7 seconds

  • but here is my point..what if the b16 was in the eclipse? im pretty sure it would not be very fast..and what if that 4g63 was in the civic? ah it would be very easy to make very fast. dont get me wrong i have friends with fast civics lol, i have seen my share of them, but the eclipse is very, very easy to make quick. as with the b16 and b18, it takes headers, full exhaust, intake, plugs and wires just to keep up with a stock 4g63 eclipse with a cat-back exhaust and nothing else. props on that EK

  • its called power to weight ratio, thats why bikes are fast.

  • i like how you threw a loss in there...gj keep fucking with the domestics that talk all dat shit

  • the most funniest part is when the ek smoke the shit out of the c5 and camaroooooooooosuck!

  • Wow man you got a sikk car..just wonderin whats a Brake Boost?

  • Brake Boost is when you are on the throttle and the break pedal at the same time, this is so you are revving up the engine building boost so when you let go of the break the car is real Jumpy, cause of all the built up boost. Track drivers do a similar technique break and gas in a turn so that your exit speed will be greater, called a heel toe technique and or Left foot breaking technique. The idea that as soon as you let off the break your car is ready to break loose increasing exit speed.

  • ah thanks man, i actually knew that before but i didnt kno it was called a brake boost.

but now i do haha thanks.

  • actually i THOUGHT (< that means dont start some crazy youtube-style argument) heel-toeing is when you use the left foot for the clutch and you put your heel on the gas pedal and your toes on the brake when entering a turn so you can keep the engine revs up when downshifing. your difinition of brake boosting is right though

  • Right, the Heel toe is used so that you can enter the turn at a faster rate of speed maintan control and exit quicker because of engine speed matching and the time saved vs traditional downshift breaking technique.

Otherwise, you would bog down and have less power during exit, OR slow down too much on the entrance of the turn. The Left foot breaking is for FF powered cars, when you are cornering under power, breaking creates oversteer, Throttle creates engine speed match/better exit speed.

  • i drive DSM's and i usually despise civics. but this is impressive. good job

  • beautiful vid!!! nice ride 5 stars bro!

  • whats brake boost? anyone know the motor it has

  • break boost-hold the break while your rolling, build boost when u let off the break, u come out full boost.

  • dude thank you for showing the true speed of the small imports.

hopefully this will show alot of people that if you wanna go fast it doesnt really matter what you get its what you put in it lol.

    thats a true JDM.

  • it took a 1000+ hp car to beat him ahah

  • fuckin love it. my friend has the same set up but at 24psi @ 550 i think. 5 stars baby *****
