Thats what im talking bout! My Dad has a 1986 Chevy Custom Deluxe Pick up. Bought it the same year i was born. And its still running today. Been through it all, 2 accidents, hurricane damage and still starts on 1 crank. Thats all the advertisement i need to stay a chevy owner.
@Waynder my cousin tye just sold his iroc z because he was behind in payments for his truck .. i was so sad me and him used to drive around in the middle of the night with the top down.. when the man came over to take it away it and tye started it up it sounded so beautiful.. he even cried... if i knew he was selling it and i coulda i woulda bought it off of him just so it can stay in the family with us.. he loved that car it was his first.
Back in 1990 at the age of 18, I bought my first car, a 1970 Impala coupe for $750.00 Nothing special, just a stock 350 sport coupe. My Impala served me well through high school first 2 years of community college. When I transferred to Washington State University 300 miles away my folks made me sell her. They gave me their Volvo instead. As the new owner cruised away I saw those 6 tail lights dissapear into the night and teared up. I'll never forget her, Chevy does run deep.
im guessing the el camino in this ad is no longer powered by a 305, lol.
chevy cars and trucks are really about memories. i have all my memories driving in GM cars pontiacs and chevies. lots of great times spent in my 89 camaro and as much work as it needs i dont know if i could ever part with it. mainly it needs paint, badly but i still love that car.
I agree with csx a fast car ain't a family car don't need all the bells n whistles maybe people can buy one for a price that we can afford ya know....Ford knows this y not Chevy n dodge
Start offering affordable cars that you don't need to finance for 5 goddamn years and offer package real people want, I don't need sat radio, 5000 watts , onstar crap, I want manual windows, no antilock brakes ( I think I can drive ) I don't need navigation, no traction control, no back up sensors, cameras, no 500 airbags , and I need a manual transmission with v8 power.
too bad todays cars are no where near as classy looking and priced affordable, todays owners only keep a car a few years before they get bored with it due to the 5 second attention span they have, or the greenies guilt em into trading it in on some overseas crapbox for the sake of being GREEN . which is a scam anyway.
my life is changing come september 6th - my forst baby will be born and i have a 2010 Camaro SS/RS and i watched this and a scary thought went through my mind - then i laughed

Wow, GM actually acknowledged the El Camino's existence!
What a cocktease. How about instead of just reflecting on the model, you actually give us a new one?
Or at least, bring over the Holden Ute...

lmao at 0:10 the kid is playing with a 2010 Camaro SS matchbox car, even though it's suppose to be 1985.

@kevincheatwood1 For Sale Sign calls it a 1983 El Camino...but the rear view mirrors and dash bezels are the '86 - '87 style.
