I have a doubt: you ve said in this video that we use the preposition (for) in this example (i sent this for you) to say that you send it for one's behalf.

can we use the preposition (to) for the same meaning? in this example: (i write this poem to you).

i will be more than happy to recieve an answer from you

  • Hey Tazeenhasan,

I will definately try to make some videos which are beginner. I am happy to know that you are making use of my videos in your teaching.

    Take care!

    Steve

  • I am teaching my kids via ur video. Can u prepare action words like surfing, driving, drinking for beginners????

  • In response to your question, for sure the more advanced learners need to learn prepositions by using them in day to day conversation.

You will want to use 'on your behalf' e.g.

I sent the letter on your behalf or

I sent the letter for you.

Please also be aware that prepositions can vary from American to British English eg.:

on the weekend vs at the weekend

Bye for now and say hello to all my friends in Brazil!

    Steve

  • Hello! Hello! Hello! Manjow2!

First of all thank you for your appreciation.

I am happy to hear that you have mastered prepositions of location with regard to directions.

"But what about we're not talking about directions, is it one of that things you have to know by heart and you learn little by little?"

    cont'd

  • hey there, nice video, thanks!

When we're talking about prepositions of direction it's easier to remember because there's like a rule...

But what about we're not talking about directions, is it one of that things you have to know by heart and you learn little by little?

e.g. "On your behalf", and not "In your behalf."

    Again, thanks for the video.

    Best regards,

    ManoJow

  • Since you liked the video on prepositions so much, I will definately be doing another one!!!!!!!

    Steve

  • Thanks for the comments guys!!!

  • All your videos are very helpful, thanks again, btw I'm a new member on peppy club, my nickname is belen.

  • Great video... thanks!

I wonder where it was made... great place!

What software and cam do you use? I want to make some home videos and yours have great quality.

By the way, on the video description you wrote "soltaque", but the word is "sotaque" without the "L".

    Bye!

  • Thanks!! Great explanation!

  • Thanks Steve!!

    Fantastic video...

    Bye

  • Thanks Kalleu!!!!!

  • I think the same, very clear and very useful.

    Thank you very much!

I think it will be excellent for my children who are at the High School.

I have a question too about nearby, is the sentence , "My village is nearby Bordeaux" (in French "à côte de" , "proche de"...)correct?

    Thanks a lot

    Ted

  • Nearby would require no noun after it. My village is nearby! You could say 'proche de' as 'close to' and 'a côte de'as 'next to'.

    Hope this helps!

    Steve

  • Great video!

    very useful...

    Thank you!
