@MrJoshthesurfer i had the same problem, what you have to do is as you are hitting the lip you have to look down towards the bottom of the wave ( not over the back of the wave)

question, when doing an air are you just letting your board take you up or do you jump with your board?

Neither, DONT try and jump. You're board will be stuck on the wave while your in the air (looks kinda lame). Its kinda hard to explain, but its all about speed, timing and 'launching' off the right spot. Race down the line, eye the section, Widen your stance (really helps control and for launching), dont do a hard bottom turn but a shallow one and unweight at the moment of impact. I am trying to do the same frontside air but the rotation is spinning the other way. I mean the board spins counter clockwise. If a 360 and reverse are airs when the board spins clockwise, what is the name for a frontside air with the board doing a full rotation but spinning counterclockwise?

I can't get in the air at all... It's getting annoying... any tips to help me at least come close to a punt? any specific board type (like a squashtail or something ?)

@Lostfins i have felt the same way. until today. i finally did a big air today. the wind really stuck the board onto my feet when i did it. but a tip would be to just look for that section. not every wave calls for an air. if u feel it and there is a section. pump ur freakin heart out. step on the tail a little and just extend ur body into the air.

This is called a frontside 360 in skateboarding / snowboarding. I don't know why it's called a "air reverse" in surfing. No matter, I can't do them on my surfboard. LoL.

I'd rather not go in reverse, not exactly like skateboarding where you can do it over again in reverse to then go forward. Taj Burrow needs better waves, non-SoCal, then he will do the whole 360 spin in the air.
