When it tries to read the disk, it takes a while and then it say "Disk cannot be read". While it's trying to read it, it makes weird noises. As if it's scratching the disk. Actually, it sounds like the guide arm is slipping off the worm gear. It is a pretty common occurrence if you don't clean off your games before inserting them or if you leave the cover open regularly or leave the console powered up constantly. All of these cases result in surplus dust, which causes the lubricant on the transverse rods and worm gear to dry up. You could probably fix it by cleaning the transverse rods, worm gear, and guide arm and lubricating them again with some white lithium.
