Hello! Does the fondant dry out and get hard when u leave it out? I want to make flowers out of them, but im not sure if it will harden, for it is my very first time! thanks!!!
@ddkim611 it can get dry leaving it out. If you want to make flowers that are more sturdy, I recommend using gumpaste. it will hold those flowers you want to make really well.
hey i'm from canada and if you are in canada too where can i find the crisco and does the crisco has to be like it's a jar because i went on WALMART's site and i put crisco and they show me a box of crisco powder should i chose that one or not
im from Philippines :) and i want to try your recipe.. since we dont have here a crisco what will i do? what is crisco by the way ?is that oil ,shortening ? sorry for my english im not good with it XD
@MrBebeko05 Hi there! Yes Crisco is the brand name for Shortening. I hope you have it. I will see if there is another recipe you could use to make fondant without shortening.
Please answer this question. The powdered sugar icing, it seems like there is ALOT does it make the sweetness overpowering? because i want to make a cake for my mom and dont want it way to sweet.
@MsVyly If you are speaking of the buttercream icing...I love it. I think is just adds to the taste of the cake. With the cake not being too sweet, the buttercream is perfect.
If you are speaking of the fondant...I still think it's perfect. You would have to add alot of powered sugar to make it too sweet.
hi could you please answer quickly im making a cake this weekend! when i used this recipe a while ago it kinda turned out, but then when i tried to cut it, the fondant wouldnt cut and it was really chewy?? please help!!!!
@bettyboop115573 Sorry, I hope it's not too late to answer your question. It might be you have used too much marsh mellow or overcooked it. Or maybe you could add more moisture to the mix. Hope it helps. Good luck!
I have used this size batch for a three layer cake and still had some (but not much) left. It may depend on how think or thin you make it also. There should not be a Crisco flavor because you only use Crisco on your hands as you mix it together. It is fun and anyone watching you begin the mixing process will laugh at you because it's so messy. But it gets better the longer you mix it. takes about 8-10 minutes. Good luck!
@moxmox1 You know, I've never tried that, but I think the key is to have it "newly" melted in order to mix it. I don't think it would mix well if its out of the jar. Unless you warm it up. doesnt hurt to try. :) Good luck.
Lol I have to say your hand is very cute! The nails + rings are a nice touch :)
