You're eyes are bigger than your stomach, but you have to follow that guideline of how much food your putting into your body. you cant just eat a bunch of bananas or high carb food processed with whey protein whenever you want. Figure out your bodies daily calorie intake count and match it with that work out meal. I'm deffinately a one and a half banana guy, but I'll throw in some OJ for the acids too.

i got whey from GNC with my dad when i was 14 for football, and i still use it today. (almost 16) if getting whey is really out of the question, then there's really no after workout alternate, as im guessing you're not going to get musclemilk or creatine or anything like that if whey is off limits. if your problem is your parents, then try explaining to them that whey protien is pretty harmless, and the worst case scenario is that you just dont use the extra protien and end up pissing it out.

@cutthroatnukka yeah id say thats a pretty damn good weight gain shake. anything with peanut butter, its loaded with good calories. but depending on your body type, if you dont train and consume too much peanut butter and high fat ingredients then youll gain fat, not muscle. i tend to build muscle easily so i just do whey protien after i run, and occasionally work abs. but if your naturally skinny then what you got sounds like a good shake.

Na, the acid in your stomach is there to denature the proteins you eat, once it passes into the intestines the pH goes back to neutral because of the bicarbonate secreted from your pancreas. So what this all means is, dont worry about poorer digestion, Darin here is talking bout getting the nutrients into your blood quickly

You don't necessarily have to take protein with milk. I prefer to use water instead, I find milk makes the protein too thick for myself to swallow, so I grunge my teeth and try to overcome the flavorless drink into my digestive system. Afterward you don't even notice the taste. Just an idea since I noticed you have allergies to milk
@hellbarren adding whey protein to milk forms anothe protein called caesin which is a slow absorbing protein best take whey with water after workout, maybe mix with skimmed milk before bed
This will make a hugh difference for you out there training, I could not drop a pound till I starting following tips similiar to these. Stick to this and the weight will fall off. Don't forget to bust your ass on your workout though.
wow this was very informative. I almost always went for brown rice and chicken as my post workout meal! will be interesting to see the results after i alter my diet.
The rice is slow acting, and both are hardy solids. Liquids are absorbed much, much faster and should constitute your immediate post workout meal (i.e. within 20mins). Whey and bannana are perfect for this.
But as for that 2 hour window, chicken and brown rice should be fine for that.
apparently u guys didnt pay attention. chicken and rice isnt fine for that 2 hour window because ur body wont be able to digest it within that time frame. the digestive system is very vascular and doesn't have the blood supply to digest that food quickly enough for ur muscles to begin recovery.

just order it offline. Or go to a GNC store...I cant possible think of any reasons why it could be hard for even a 6 year old

i got whey from GNC with my dad when i was 14 for football, and i still use it today. (almost 16) if getting whey is really out of the question, then there's really no after workout alternate, as im guessing you're not going to get musclemilk or creatine or anything like that if whey is off limits. if your problem is your parents, then try explaining to them that whey protien is pretty harmless, and the worst case scenario is that you just dont use the extra protien and end up pissing it out.

Meat, nuts, avacado etc - other than that go for PHD Whey/Protein - ideal for someone your age, tastes good and works.

everyones body is different so just try different times see what fits you i find 20 to 30 minutes after work out works for me

its so your core temp will go down and 30 mins after workout your body is saying"okay i stopped workingout now i need to get nutrients from wereever" if your scared to take it 30 mins after cos you dont beleive people about it id say wait 15 minutes afeter you work out
but on most protein bottles it will say 30 mins after
like from nitro tech?

tell me if this is a good weight gain shake. 12 oz. of milk, 1cup of oatmeal, 2 scoops whey protein. and 2 tablespoons peanut butter.

@cutthroatnukka yeah id say thats a pretty damn good weight gain shake. anything with peanut butter, its loaded with good calories. but depending on your body type, if you dont train and consume too much peanut butter and high fat ingredients then youll gain fat, not muscle. i tend to build muscle easily so i just do whey protien after i run, and occasionally work abs. but if your naturally skinny then what you got sounds like a good shake.

Interesting vid, just one thing which I hope you can answer, you say to put whey protein with a banana, which is protein and carbs, but doesnt your body secrete acid to digest the protein and alkaline to digest the carbs, eating those two together wouldnt the acid and alkaline neutrilize one another resukting in slower and poorer digestion? would appreciate if anyone could clarify this. Na, the acid in your stomach is there to denature the proteins you eat, once it passes into the intestines the pH goes back to neutral because of the bicarbonate secreted from your pancreas. So what this all means is, dont worry about poorer digestion, Darin here is talking bout getting the nutrients into your blood quickly

Nice vid ;) but what about if i can't take whey protein, because of milk alergy - acne(for me) ? ;/ like you saying normal food slow digastion and it sits in your stomach for a while.. so i need something different than chicken&rice for my after workout meal.. any ideas? thanks ;)

You don't necessarily have to take protein with milk. I prefer to use water instead, I find milk makes the protein too thick for myself to swallow, so I grunge my teeth and try to overcome the flavorless drink into my digestive system. Afterward you don't even notice the taste. Just an idea since I noticed you have allergies to milk

@hellbarren adding whey protein to milk forms anothe protein called caesin which is a slow absorbing protein best take whey with water after workout, maybe mix with skimmed milk before bed

This will make a hugh difference for you out there training, I could not drop a pound till I starting following tips similiar to these. Stick to this and the weight will fall off. Don't forget to bust your ass on your workout though.

The rice is slow acting, and both are hardy solids. Liquids are absorbed much, much faster and should constitute your immediate post workout meal (i.e. within 20mins). Whey and bannana are perfect for this.
But as for that 2 hour window, chicken and brown rice should be fine for that.

apparently u guys didnt pay attention. chicken and rice isnt fine for that 2 hour window because ur body wont be able to digest it within that time frame. the digestive system is very vascular and doesn't have the blood supply to digest that food quickly enough for ur muscles to begin recovery.
