  • I love this intro theme song. I believe it was sung by MIO, who also did a few songs for the soundtracks for Area 88, and L-Gaim.

I remember this series as Saber Rider as it was called in America. Though, I'm pretty sure the Americanized version of this show was heavily edited. Because the Japanese versions are usually darker than the Americanized versions of these anime shows.

  • @MDthornton83 wiki confirms, my friend. I'd like to rememeber MIO/MIQ also for her opening of the Dunbine :)!

  • @MDthornton83 Saw both versions recently:there is a crucial difference between them. As you suspected, the US version is heavily edited: they made all the "bad guys" be "vaporized" and returned on their home planet, while in the JP version they died. Also, in the US version they've changed the team leader:in the JP version it was Shinji/Fireball,in the US version it's Richard/Saber Rider.Also,Perios/Jesse Blue did not had a crush on Marianne/April. He didn't cared for her at all.

  • @cnh2132 That's what I thought as well. Becuase the same is true of Voltron and other anime cartoons that were watered down upon being brought over to the US. In both of the series which were Americanized into the two seperate Voltron series, (Golion and Dairugger XV) there was plenty of gruesome violence along with numerous character deaths that were edited out. And most American fans didn't know about this until years later.

  • Who sang the opening of Sei jushi bismark?

And what year is this Anime? I think it was 1980's right?

  • @hilarioph '84 and don't know who sings

  • an emotinal version but very good ...

  • Hmmm. Nope, sorry. Still Saber Rider theme much, much, much better than this!

  • Noooooo, wrong song!!!!.... not bad though.

  • Hey, this is also by the same singer who did the L-Gaim and Dunbine themes. She did a lot of themes.

  • @chinocracy She's Mio/MIQ, the japanese Aretha Franklin

  • @yumeshimanet Yeah, just remembered it. Thanks!

  • hm,SABER RIDER seems to be the noob in the Japan-version

  • is this anime available for download or something??

  • I like this one more than the american version. It fits better with the animation.

  • quiero una rubiecita como esa

  • No se porque o cambiaron prque la intro es genial, Aunque la intro que pusieron también es míica, auqnue me gustamás esta.

  • Cool, but I like the Saber Rider intro song more.

  • Seeing this intro made me think of Saber Rider twice..

I wonder if there were any other edits on the show.

  • @anerysium I am a little late with my response, but yeah, there were many edits on the US Saber Rider. Most important: Fireball is the original leader, not Saber Rider. Almost every name for either a person, planet or whatever has been changed. the gore level has been decreased and many dialogues have been changed.

Sorry to tell you the truth ;( Hope, you can keep it in good memory^^

  • @bersi4kzero

that might be but still the intro is so much better on the us version
