  • good vid, grand wee car.

  • C'est magnifique

  • great video production

  • 31 people have no idea whats going on, lol ;)

  • Cool Mini Production...

  • @MiDgEtMuRdErDoLL

Quality and pride left when unions took over.

As to Morgan they are indeed nearly hand built but they have a much lower production rate. Comparing their quality and assembly to Mini's is Apples and Oranges.

As to stripping a car down and rebuilding. A very viable alternate to a new car. I have a 1967 Checker Marathon I bought with 400,000 miles on it. and its built like a tank! I rebuilt it from frame up & have put another 134,000 on it and its still going strong.

  • i want one!!! :(

  • i wish they would show a shot of the robots in the break room consuming oil or something, or going home to its family of little robots.

  • nice BMW

  • Due to Government regulations Minis are becoming bigger and bigger :(

  • @Punisher2all good thing we can have our classics!

  • Its about women time gave birth to robots as they spend all their time with vibrators.

  • Looks so 20th century...

  • Does it shows where something goes wrong with the dashboard assembly and you get a 25K euros car buzzing and rattling all the time you drive it?

  • I got here by searching "Smoshemgfu productions".......

    nice vid.

  • this looks like gm it has alot of the same things there except the workers

  • I want the job to just but the logo on the cars. Soooo easy

  • in the future, robots will drive and humans will assembly.

  • As soon as all the dog-fucking unions are dissolved, no humans will be doing tedious shit-work like that...

  • Everyday that passes automation gets better and better. If it is possible for a machine to do your job...one day it will.

  • One day, most of your friends will be robots too...if they aren't already!?! ;-O

  • I want that job where you just stroke the car as it moves slowly past, lol

  • @monkeyboy85 The position is called "car masturbator" and you must have many years experience.

  • @monkeyboy85 Aiming high I see.

  • Eurgh, horrible German BMW Minis. I think the old classic Mini should be brought back!

  • @712536 ye smash the uk factories hahaha some more guys screaming drunk in the pub when germany win against england

  • how cool is that the workers don't talk while working.

  • @Martin18674 They are androids what do you expect hehe

  • Virtually all machines, and almost no humans around. The world itself will be this way one day.

  • Nice production facility video, any chance of an new video on All-Electric Mini E?

  • I like fantastic videos like this.....NICE ONE!!!!

  • Made in !!!!!!

  • star wars - making droids)

  • this reminds me some levels of DOOM III :O

  • ALFA MITO THE BEST!

  • THis is the worst Mini to ever hit the roads. The classic model is the best and the true Mini. I wish they never made this. Luckily they still made the classic body style up until the late 90's I believe.

  • Cool!

  • why they have to use human to put the logo on the engine block????

  • awsome video and awsome car and I just wanna say awsome 3 times because i'm drunk.

  • lol they can build the engine with machine but put the logo in person,

  • i love mini's!!!!!

  • awesome vid! we made a video just like this one! so weird!

  • How would you like to be the guy who's only job is placing the emblem on the engines all day?!

  • YAAAAAAAAAAAA GOOD BIRTH DATE OF THIS GOOD CAR

  • Nice Yeaaaah

  • cant believe our generation..........

  • The engineers that build those assembly lines are just $#&$# Genius, it must take so much time to figure out exactly were each nut and bolt should be put.

Toyota, Bmw, Honda doesn't matter which company you pick but that assemble line is the backbone of the organisation.

  • @alexbroere

Looking close starting at 1:32 energy is wasted using 2 robotic arms. Unless the second arm has multipurpose and could be programmed for different taskings, I feel this step could be accomplished and costs could be reduced perhaps by using a single "swinging arm" to perform the same task. The engineers who built the machines are genius but the processes with that part of the assemble line could possibly be improved. Operational success lacks when cost effectiveness is compromised.

  • @chucksmibs

Assembly plants are spec'ed with flexibilty for future models in mind. The extra robot is probably to allow for a larger model to be built on that same line with minimal capital expenditure in the future.

  • nutshellvideo.co.uk - good production

  • anything about mini is certainly the best

  • There are certain employee tasks that a robot could help hold the hood or the tail gate saving precious seconds in the assemble process.

  • how much time per car?

  • I searched 'mini production line' to find Mini's, not BMW's trying to be Mini's (...badly)

  • I think there's a more in depth video on miniusa.com. But this one was a good representation.

  • i also love how the video is raw and theres no stupid song playing.. just amazing to hear it all tinkering, beeping, sparking.. haha

  • QUIERO UNOOOOO PARA MI... :)

  • ful dobra muska od tanje žagar mini

  • I haven't been so much charmed for the last time like with this video!

    Beauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutiful!

  • Horrifying .....how entire car can be made with only about a dozen humans working on it!!!!!!

  • @rrgold55 Mhmmmm, Hardly,

  • wow thats awesome, tkpfilm.com

  • The Mini is one small soldier.

  • @heartlessvietboy I can actually hear C. Heston shouting "Soylent Miini's ARE PEOPLE!" in the background..... Really!

  • Legal !

  • excelente video

¿en donde se encuentra la fabrica?

  • @EraFanatic Muy stupido, esta flea infesto mehico hacienda grande terlettto, fabrica donde esta terletto homoso's!!

  • Very effective video...

  • Common, phrench engined, jerman, tanning salon, shopping trolley right royal pain in the arse, annoying massive cars.

  • I want a Mini so much +.+

    The old one :P

  • @fabiotombstone i have one...

  • @fabiotombstone i have a buddy selling one with a honda motor in it.

  • What a brilliant video. Genuinely enjoyed that.

  • @osamyoosama The clear and concise answer for "what is the meaning of life" I get from Islam is this: the purpose of life is to blow oneself up and take as many lives of bystanders as possible. Forgive my criticism, but that is not the meaning of life. And for those of you that are looking, the purpose of life won't be found in any book, religious or otherwise. The answer to that question in WITHIN you.

  • @osamyoosama oh yeah, and if you lot think blowing people up is going to get you into heaven, you've got one helluva shock coming your way.

  • @evisserpmi1 P/2

    But God's final message to

man, a reconfirmation of the eternal message and a summing-up

of all that has gone before was revealed to the Prophet

Muhammad peace be upon him through Gabriel.

  • Cool

  • The new Mini does nothing for me.

  • Everything seems so automated, except putting the mini badge onto the engine cover!!!

  • I love my Mini! Always something to keep changing. Very fun car. Loads of accessories to buy!

  • I want to buy a MINI from factory...

  • @ledgeri Judging by the rate at which they're selling at my local Mini dealership. It'd be a good investment.

  • this is not a mini

it is a BMW german crap bring back the old english classics

  • @condom90 youre so fucking stupid, acting like you even have a tiny idea about cars...you should be thankfull a company like BMW undertakes such an endeavor, cause apart from Morgan and the mini plant, no cars are being made in england anymore because nobody thrust the "engineering" of england with her "clasics"

  • Comment removed

  • @condom90 its not german shit, its a german car, you massive asshole.

  • Comment removed

  • @luuko656 you're dead right there, "British classic" is a euphemism for "frequent and costly repairs".

  • Ye right whats the point of workin to build shit tin boxes for middle class twiggy wannabees on valium with too much bleedin money?Arse to em.

  • Humans pack the parts on to trolleys so the robots can do all the hard work.. Interesting how times have changed. although one man had a socket wrench...

  • nice. love the mini, shame the main thing that was done by humans is put stickers on the car.

  • and if you look good, the sticker came loose again at the right side....

  • The MIni started in 1959 as a spacious small family car and ended in 2000 as a fashion car having long since lost its space making features. The new Mini has picked up where the classic Mini finished. Who would have thought that the workers at Cowley could have produced such a well built car as the new Mini which goes to prove that the fault lay with the management and not the workforce. We should be thankful that something as good as Mini is still built in the UK.

  • to be honest who gives a damn, no one does anyway - no one wants to work anymore

its BMW anyway, it could be indian made, and i still wouldn't bat an eyelid,

  • it needs a voice over, the whole video seem rather boring without one.

  • @JayJay0802 just talk to yourself while watching then...

  • esto es increible de ver como se fafrican estos hermosos juguetitos ecuador

  • süpermiş aq bizim bunu yapmamız için daha 50 sene işimzz war :(

  • Although it's good for quality to have robots involved, I kinda wish the engine was all bolted together by hand. Knowing that just gives the car that old-world quality feel. The first Corvette ZR-1 series had all of its engines hand-made - by Mercury Marine!!

  • I donno, when you do things by hand there is tenfold more errors in torque measurements and everything else... I like the idea of machines doing it :) less fuck-ups

  • Nigel Tift ! how did you get on that video.

    Fame at last eh .

  • We upped our production at the Smart Car plant, now up yours !

  • At final production, do they always test drive the car before it ships out to dealers?

  • OMG that is so cool!

  • es 6.58 minutos un chingo de carros jajajajajajaja que bueno

  • i like the old mini as well as the new im an owner of a new mini and its my first car i have drove a5 s bmw 3 series touaregs and still i can t wait to jump into my mini its soooo fun to drive

  • It might be not the same als the old Mini, but in 40 years this will be a desired CLASSIC as well.

  • Lego technic

  • oh thank god i thought it was going to be the new mini as in the crap one lol

  • That was really cool. I've been to the BMW US Manufacturing plant here in Greenville SC and it's amazing to see how these cars are put together.

  • Prima video. Geeft goede indruk van de productie die ik zelf live heb gezien

  • :O I know now how they make my car :P

  • Almost like a Sci-Fi vid. BMW have got three well kitted sites in Hams Hall, Swindon & Oxford.

  • i love mini GREAT VIDEO!!!!

  • lol they have a guy to put the logo on the engine.

  • I want his job!

  • fantastic video

  • WOW

  • I got a Cooper in January. I love the car to death. It is such a blast to drive and it gets quite alot of looks when I am going down the street.

  • Lucky bastard :D

  • Bien interesante la tecnologia automatizada en el area automotriz.... buen video..

  • i think their job is to inspect the paintwork...... but i guess it doesnt change too much between cars all comin off the same system

  • Principools?

  • Principools sniveled:

"Perfect for what? ...Bini's should be banned from the roads for trying to be something that they most definitely are not "

What a clueless twat you are. The new Minis are fantastically fun cars to drive, the fit and finish is befiiting of the BMW name, and they are reasonably-priced for the level of quality and performance they provide.

Show me another car on the road that combines all these qualities and I'll buy it. Until then, STFU you wanker.

  • machines building machines!!!

  • THE OLD MINI KICKED ASS the new one : \

  • amen

  • Relieved, man puts the brand on the engine, I thought it was computer that were doing it lol ;) Next generation will have to learn Computer language hard for their After sales ... bzzz bzzzz bzzz mmm !!!

  • I know someone who works on the production line at longbridge and they get 40k a year

  • 差

  • amazing!

  • la voglio anke io la mini cooper...la vogliooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • work in manufacturing. And with many beautiful conditions of work is on all the people embraced Oxford.Luis

  • I work at Nissan in Sunderland. We build a Qashqai, suv, every 47 seconds. Officially it's recognised as the most efficient car plant in Europe within the car production industry. Probably the worst paid compared to our workload.

  • I challenge your lousy pay with mine! I work at Pininfarina and I'm sure I make less than you! What a weird contest by the way :D

  • fantatico uma obra prima

  • How many days to build a Mini?

  • How piedi days to build a Mini?

  • They say it takes about 2-3 days. One day one actual assembly after all the pre-fab sections are put on the assembly line.

  • we build 50 uph , 900 mini every 24h and about 24h from BIW to A building

  • new mini is huge! not a real mini by any means

  • mini has style...! very cool

  • dit dont j'ai l'impression qu'il ya un soin énorme 0_0

  • i want the dark gray

  • he does

  • we should be proud to get a great british MINI COOPER

  • what woul say sir alec isigonis say to this car????

    LONG LIVES THE OLD MINI!!!!!

  • Nice video nice car !

  • bmw minis are great cars, dont get me wrong. But they are safer ok also bigger than the original mini, but thats a sacrifice they had to make, to make the car safer, still its as loved as the old car so y all this criticism about the new mini? great quality, great car, just as the old 1 was.

  • I wonder if the critics wouldn't feel bad about all those people in Swindon and Oxford losing their jobs if they could shut the plants down just because they "aren't making real MINIs"? WTF? Would they consider the 2009 Corvette a fake just because it's different from the older version?

  • The key difference here is that the MINI is made by different companies to those who created the mini.

The BMW shares very few similar traits to the original, the main one being the name. The MINI also abandons almost all of the concepts that inspired the creation of the mini.

  • Overpriced piece of shite! Whats the point of all this automation? We all lose our factory jobs, end up working in the service industry, while this pile of yuppie junk is priced out of our reach?! The Nissan Micra has more of the original spirit of the Mini than this does!

  • nissan micra is just a poor product of the new rapid prototyping

  • true. all these robot arms assembling things... brithis leyland used hammers! real tools! BL 4eva!

  • Doom 18!!!

  • Bomba tohle video:)

  • to be honest, something this big should not bear the name "mini" after all, the original was designed for the sole purpose of getting 4 about in as small a car as possible.

The new mini gets 4 people about? yes

    It's small? no

I think you'll find that this sums the new "mini" up quite nicely

  • Although it could have simply been given another name which would have meant that historical awareness and respect for the original would be considerably less than it now is.

  • Wow, what a nice and tidy factory. A thousand light-years different from those dirty and smokey and noisy ones of the '50s and beyond. Yay! Good for the workers who were saved from doing dangerous and insalubrious operations like spraying. I loved the robots assembling and welding together the pressed sheet elements!! Much, much better now than 30 years ago!!

  • QUALITY

  • do they come in purple?

  • cars are made by hand?

    well, i d'int know that..

  • the video looks like edited on 5:07, but i think robots could possibly sometime tends to do some mistakes!

  • yes mistakes would happen a lot, i gather the robots are FANUC , controller also i think would be FANUC the step motors would have trouble but a refiit would work.I am a CNC engineer/machinest/tool maker, machining one off hydro Turbine Systems, we run UNI Graphics cad/cam but yes it still does crazy shit. wana walk out of the job at least twice a week.My current boss send once to me Engineering was never ment to be easy thats why its called Engineering.Humans...

  • just want to as
